SHRANAIA’S POV
I don’t know what to do, and honestly, I’m worried about Jenny. I looked at the potion I was holding, then closed my eyes tightly and said some bad words. At that time, I felt something strange in my body, then I grabbed my left chest. Ron asked if I was okay, but I avoided looking them in the eyes because they might notice something wrong with me.
I instantly exited and rushed out the gate. I cried as I walked through the large woodland because I was worried about Jenny. I’m not sure what I’ll do if something horrible happens to her, and I bear the repercussions for the rest of my life.
“Jenny…” I called out her name. “Show me you’re there!” I yelled, then stopped running.
When I turned back, I noticed a shadow moving swiftly and concealing himself behind each of the trees. I know where he can launch an attack and that he is not alone. I’m feeling weak as a result of what occurred, and I'm wondering if Jenny is okay.
He stepped out from where he was hiding and smirked at me. I smirked at him too, and then turned to face him. “You can’t pick me out, Deacon,” I stated solemnly, and he shrugged.
“If you say so,” he replied.
“Where’s Jenny?” I asked, and he laughed at me.
“Because I was bothered by what your opponents said yesterday. Anyway, all I know is that you are only a wolf, and you have the abilities of a vampire. I don’t even know which of the two you are. Wolf or vampire?”
I didn’t move in response to what he said, despite my confusion about who I was. I smirked, and I shifted my gaze elsewhere. “I don’t care what you say; I need my best friend, Deacon; where is Jenny?” I said.
He turned around when he felt something unusual, and I grabbed that moment to attack him. He didn't escape what I did, so he smashed in another direction, and I immediately attacked him again. This time, he was astonished by my attack on him, and I gazed at him evilly in his eyes.
“Why is it that no matter what I do, you still don’t like me, Shranaia?” he asked me, then I laughed.
“What do you think is the reason why?” I said sarcastically, and then he pushed me hard.
“I didn’t do anything other than show you how much I love you. But everything I do for you, you just ignore. I can’t let you go to someone else just like that, Shranaia. As long as I don’t die,” he said seriously, then kicked me hard.
I was shocked by what he did, then I clutched my chest because of the pain. I felt as if I had broken a bone as a result of what he did, and immediately, someone came to my aid. I looked at who it was and immediately pushed Vixen, causing him to fall. I was about to attack Deacon when he suddenly pulled me, and then I was facing him.
“What!” I shouted at him.
He signaled to me to look in the direction he was looking, and I gasped as I saw Jenny tied up with a rope around her body, struggling. I tightened my fists and stared at Deacon, who only smirked at me.
“What do you think, Shranaia?” he inquired.
“Don’t you know anything other than giving me a headache? Why don’t you simply like your cousin who wants you? Isn't it Samantha?” I said, looking at where Samantha was.
He came out of his place, then Deacon looked at him with an annoyed look on his face. I looked at Ron, who was just behind and hiding, then he beckoned to me. I just nodded to him, and at that moment, I felt like I was going to have a heart attack when I felt something strange again. Vixen held my hand and then looked me in the eyes.
“You alright?” he asked with concern, then I nodded to him.
I changed my form so they wouldn’t notice anything that would change me because I knew there could be a consequence. I ran fast until I got to where Jenny was, and Deacon saw what I did and immediately took action.
But I deviated, and his eyes widened at what I did, so I swiftly lifted my paw and clawed him, forcing him to hit the ground hard, and the strength of what I did was almost enough to ground-eat him. Ron was able to capture Jenny, and I gave him the signal to leave. I gave him the potion in case Deacon did anything else to Jenny.
I altered my shape again and gazed at him from where he was. “Even though I’m weak as a wolf-dog, I can still beat you with my wits; I know you’re dumb, so I can handle you alone,” I said, and Samantha assisted him in standing.
“You are too arrogant, Shranaia,” Samantha commented, and I looked at her.
“And you are attention seeker, Samantha!” Deacon told her.
I don’t know if I will laugh at what he said, but Samantha is really an attention seeker. If it weren’t for the situation today, I would think we were just playing. When I felt that Jenny and Ron were far away, I then looked at Vixen. Its strange eyes give me a strange feeling that I don’t understand. Every time he becomes sweet to me, I think we are for each other, but every time he stops me from doing what I want to do, I feel like I just want to kill him.
“You’re probably killing me in your mind right now, Sweety,” he said, and then he smiled.
“I would have done it if I could,” I sighed. “I just hope they’ll be okay,” I whispered, then he held my hand.
“She’ll be fine, trust me,” he whispered, then I nodded to him.
“I hope so.”
“We’re not done yet, Shranaia.” I turned to Deacon.
“You are not finished with your threat.”
He didn’t say anything more, and both he and Samantha left while Vixen and I were left behind. He’s still holding my hand, and I’m not sure whether I should pull it back or let him do what he wants. We walked together while holding hands, and I was delighted for reasons I couldn’t understand.
When we returned to the cabin, I saw Jenny waiting for me and instantly hurried up to hug her. I can’t help but cry because of the happiness and success that happened, and I can’t see the poison in her body. I’m not going to allow what transpired to happen again, and I’m not going to let her get hurt again.
“I’m glad to see you're all right. I don’t need to worry anymore because of the poison in your body,” I said, then she laughed.
“Why are you worried? I can take care of myself,” she answered, and then I broke away from hugging her.
“You know, even in this situation, you still manage to joke,” I said, annoyed, and then she snorted at me. I looked at Ron, then I smiled at him. “You did a good job,” I said, and I winked at him.
“Jenny!” someone shouted, turning to face Eliot.
“Brother.” Eliot immediately hugged Jenny and then checked to see if she was okay.
“Are you all right? Are you out of poison?” he inquired.
“I’m alright, thanks to Shranaia,” she replied, and I smiled back.
Eliot turned to face me and was about to hug me when I took my palm from his face. “I don’t need a hug, Eliot if you wanted to thank me,” I murmured, and he winced.
“Do you realize how difficult it is to forget and remove you from my heart? Even though I love you, I know where to put myself. Just a friend’s hug,” he said, and I smiled.
“Ok,” I replied before hugging him.
After that, everything ran well for a few days as I stayed with the pack and researched the hybrid. I’m not sure why I’m fascinated, but I’d want to learn more about them. I feel like I am one of them. I peeked outside while reading and scowled when I spotted the girl I had seen before in the field. I instantly rose up and closed the book before heading downstairs.
I looked for where the girl was, and she reached the back of the school, and I followed her there. When she got there, she turned her back on me and had long hair. I don’t know why I was nervous, but I could feel my heartbeat.
“Who are you?” I asked her.
She slowly faced me, then looked me in the eyes. Her gentle face gave me a strange feeling of lightness. I took a deep breath, then I spoke again. “I feel you don’t belong here. Who are you?” I asked in a calm voice.
She came to me, then she held my hand and caressed it. “Your smooth and white skin is attractive,” she said, and she looked up at me. “Your face and red lips are simply beautiful, and any creature will be obsessed with you,” she added. “But behind your pretty face is a scary truth.”
I grimaced at what she said since I didn’t understand what she meant. “What do you mean?” I said, as she let go of my hand and moved away.
“Your bad intentions will lead to terrible outcomes. However, if you grasp what is going on in your surroundings, you will understand why.”
I don’t know what she was talking about, and I’m not sure how to put it all in my head; I was perplexed and couldn’t think of anything else. “What are you talking about?” I was perplexed.
“Shranaia.” I turned to the person who called me, then I looked back at the kid, but she was no longer in front of me. “Who are you talking to?” she asks.
She approached me, then I shook my head. “Nothing,” I answered.
“Vixen has been groping you for a while now. He said he prepared something for you,” she said.
“What is it?” I wondered.
“Food?” she answered.
I groaned and looked back to where I had last seen the girl when I spotted something. I scooped it up, tucked it into my pocket, and stood up. Gena asked me what it was, but I didn’t answer her, and we walked back to the cabin. She just took me home. When I arrived in the cabin, Vixen was perched on the edge of the door, which shocked me.
“You surprised me,” I said, holding my chest.
“It’s not my fault that I surprised you,” he said, then he stood up. “Have you eaten?” he asked, and I shook my head.
“Gena said you called me,” I said, and he winced.
“Yeah, it took you a long time. Where have you been? You seem to want to live in the library,” he said, as if sulking because of what I did.
I didn’t speak anymore, then I sat down at the table. I looked at the food that was served on the table and smiled because of the amount of it, and I felt like I was going to hang myself because of this. But he accompanied me to eat, so I don’t have to worry if I can’t finish it all. While the two of us were eating, I couldn't help but think about what that kid had said earlier.
I just shook my head, then I looked at Vixen, who was looking at me. “Why?” I asked, and he smiled.
“Why do you get more beautiful as time goes on?” he asked, and I couldn’t stop myself from smiling.
“Why are you still able to tease me?” I asked him.
“I’m not kidding you. What I am saying is true,” he replied seriously.
Why do I get a strange butterfly in my stomach every time he says anything sweet? What he says makes me happy, and he is the only one who can make me smile when he says anything pleasant. I despise it when someone else says it, and I honestly cannot believe they said it.
“I’ve wanted you for a long time,” he added, and I put down my spoon.
When I looked at him, his gaze was focused on mine. “What?”
“I want you from then until now,” he added. “When you were young, I saw that I would devote all my strength to you. I am ready to do anything even if I die. You lived to take care of me, Shranaia,” he litany.
I have nothing else to say, and nothing comes out of my mouth. I coughed suddenly, and he immediately took water, which I drank as well. “Aren’t you drunk? Didn’t you hit your head? You didn’t eat anything other than what you prepared,” I said, and then he laughed.
“You still don’t understand what I do,” he said, then held my hand. “I love you. No matter what happens, I love you. No matter who you are or what your plans are, I love you. You will always remember that the things I do are for you because I love you.”
