The battle between Airavat and the demon snake took place in the north, a location that later became known as the Valley of Death. The region's rippling peaks, steep valleys, winding rivers, and vast lakes were all formed during their fierce struggle.

In essence, this battle reshaped the northern land into its current form.

Now, Aru found himself deep within the Valley of Death, nearly four kilometres down and forty kilometres from the edge, about four-fifths of the way to the centre where the original bodies of the Divine beast and the snake lay.

This meant Aru was as close to the centre of the Death Valley as possible.

The next ten kilometres north of the temple was a no man's land, sealed off by the divine beast with a powerful barrier that prevented any living thing—people, animals, or plants—from entering.

To the south, forty kilometres away, was the area Aru needed to traverse to escape this cursed place.
