ARIAN POV

Today's events don't make sense to me. I feel too comfortable with Gail that I don't even know if it is a good thing.I don't understand why he doesn't make feel like I should be alert around him. I don't like this feeling. I have let my guard down too much. What if he is my enemy, or a wolf under sheep skin?..

"YOU DO REALISE YOU ARE ALL WEREWOLVES RIGHT?"...My wolf Bumi, who has been suspiciously  silent comments.

"Yes Bumi, but I meant if we were all sheep..like if I was a sheep and he was the wolf...you know what?  forget it. Why were you soo quite today?..a lot happened but you didn't react..you only woke up when Ray tried to attack Gail..you are not the type for favouritism."..I reply back to Bumi.

"FIRST OF ALL, YOU CAN NEVER BE A SHEEP..EVEN IN THIS WOLF DEN ..THEY ALL PROBABLY THINK YOU ARE A DEMON LURKING AROUND POSING AS ONE OF THEM..AND AS FOR GAIL..NO..I  DON'T FAVOUR HIM MORE THAN THE OTHERS.I JUST HATE NOISE AND RAY IS LOUD. THAT KID NEEDS TO LEARN TO KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT SOMETIMES."...He retorts.

"Ouch!..that explains why Gail thinks I am hot, I guess I look like I came from hell.."...I reply back jokingly.

"NOT THE TIME ARIAN..AND YOU NEED TO FOCUS..YOUR DAD HAS BEEN CLEARING HIS THROAT FOR A WHILE NOW TO GET YOUR ATTENTION ..IF YOU DON'T STOP LOOKING LIKE YOU ARE IN WONDERLAND I WON'T DEFEND YOU IF A FIST COMES FLYING."..Bumi responds before once again fading out.

"Do you agree Arian?..."..I awake to my father's booming voice , his tone sending daggers my way that my brain was not able to immediately defend myself against. Shit!..What should I say?. I hate trick questions.

After that awkward yet verily much warm hug that Gail and I shared at the training grounds, we both went to the showers and soon after we were done cleaning up and changing, we came to my fathers office to brief him about Gail's first day and he was going to let us know how his and Gail's parents talk went.I don't know how I managed to zone out on the conversation.This is so unlike me.

"No?....Yes..?..I think...well..what do you think Alpha?"..I do my best to form a coherent sentence  to my now red faced father, pretending like I didn't just miss half of the little talk they were having.

"I also think it would be a great idea for you and Stacy to get married"...He replies sombrely.

Immediately I get up from my chair and bang my hand against the office desk separating my father and I ."No fucking way Dad!..did she come here and claim to be my mate..plus..wait...Stacey is already ...married..oh." I face palm to cover my embarrassment  after realising what had just happened.*nice joke dad* I see how my jokes might affect other people now, knowing also how Gail already has a problem with them. " I will listen carefully from now on, sorry..I just had a  bit of a headache.." I lie, but my father ignores this and continues talking while I take my seat of shame and sink into the uncomfortable brown leather chair .

*note to self: change the office decor after being Alpha. Everything black and gold.*

"So as I was saying, I am happy that you like the training camp Gail, you are free to live here if you so wish, I am sure my son here won't mind sharing his space with you..if he can happily hug you in front  of strangers then I guess he must really like you ." My father says but pauses to give me a sly yet playful smirk. I don't react .I will leave this conversation for another day.My father then faces Gail and continues to talk."Your parents..well..your mother, said that it is okay for you to stay with us, she said you will be safe here so she approves. I agree with her especially after that case we had with Liam. Do you want to move in or stay at home during your training period?.I would advice that you stay here as sometimes we have surprise attacks and it would be easy to round everyone up...but it is also okay to stay outside, the message will reach you somehow during an emergency."  He says and looks at Gail with a reassuring smile while waiting  for his response.

What happened between Gail and Liam? Wait..no..none of my business, I am not a gossip. Gail will tell me, one day..hopefully tomorrow..or later..? Plus what does he mean by safe here?..apart from Liam..who else wants to hurt Gail?. I think I might have missed more than half of their conversation.

"I will stay." Gail answers firmly without showing signs of hesitation or fear.

"Good. Well welcome to the team. Gail Blanco. Oh! and your Grandparents will move to stay with your family here, Apparently your Grandfather fell and broke his knee in the bathroom and  your Nana will need some help with him,  knowing a bit about your history with them, I am certain you made the right decision."..My father says while standing up to grab himself a refill for his coffee mug from the coffee machine located by the entrance of his office. It appears there is a lot I don't know about Gail..why is this bothering me? And why is Bumi so quite?

"Gail..I will see you tomorrow then?..You can bring the things you need during the week and we will be sharing our bathroom..others use the common showers but you are lucky you got paired with me!"..I say with a playful grin hoping that they don't question my sudden change of mood or conversation. I want answers on their earlier conversation I feel dumb.

"Oki dokie..I will head out now, thank you for allowing me to join Sir, I will try my best to keep up with the team and not disappoint you and the new Alpha." He stands and says while looking at my father. He then turns around to face me and puts on a playful smirk. "And thank you very much your highness for allowing thy humble Servant to share a bathroom with you." He says while bowing his head playfully performing a little cute show of curtesy.I  can't  help but laugh. I like the original not so shy Gail. He is kinda cute.

"Okay okay, you can go home now, I have some matters to discuss with my father before I go home ." I reply to his little stunt and soon after Gail bids his Goodbyes and I turn to face my father.

" You wanted to talk?"My father asks taking a sip from his coffee mug while raising one eye brow in question.

"Yes."I reply sheepishly

"About?" He questions coolly

"Gail."I state.

"I am sorry to break it to you son, but that is called gossiping"...

"But dad!?..shouldn't I know a bit about him?, I feel frustrated that there seems to be something major happening in his life or that has happened but I don't know anything..." I plead

"Anything you want to know related to him you have to ask him yourself or he will tell you himself. It is his right to keep his matters personal and it is the law that I keep most pack information confidential." My father replies in a scolding tone.Sometimes he is such a sucker for rules.

" I will be ordained Alpha in three days and you still won't tell me ...I your one and only son anything?"...I retort

"Keep talking like that if you want to go back and run more laps on the field."...My father says in a warning tone while pointing at me with his index finger. I dramatically gasp and cover my mouth with both my hands and pretend to be shocked by his statement. I know my father very well to keep annoying him with the same thing, so I make the best choice and leave him to his daily tasks. He has to get everything in order before handing the pack to me.

Later that afternoon while playing some video game about zombies in my room, I hear foot steps approaching from downstairs. The steps are firm yet light...almost like the person is hoping or skipping to a beat.I know who it is..

3,2,1...

"Get out!" I reply to the boy monotonously ,putting on a bored to meet you expression.

"Oh come on...Everyone smiles when they see Tony the  boy!...Even the king of hades who was earlier seen hugging a non related person should be happy to see me." Tony, my gossip prodigy of a friend says with a playful grin.

"Keep my name away from your cheap tongue, and who the fuck has the audacity to gossip about me and my business!" I reply bitterly.

"Woah , woah! chill big guy. People talk about you all the time.Next in line Alpha, son of hades, hashtag hot new leader what what ..your position and looks make for good conversation among those of us with cheap tongues. And because I am kind, I will excuse your rude ass for calling me cheap. In a serious matter, there is only three days before your coronation, are you feeling any different?, you will meet your mate too ...are you excited? or have you already met your mate?" ..Tony says while settling himself on one of my gaming chairs. I guess this is how my peaceful afternoon ends.

"YES!"

"No!" Bumi and I answer at the same time.

"Wait ..Bumi what?"

"I MIGHT HAVE FOUND OUR MATE.I THINK.I CAN SENSE IT IS A HE AND HE IS NEARBY BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS SHIELDING HIM.I CAN'T PROPERLY GET THROUGH THE FELLING. BUT IT IS HIM.HE IS CLOSE TO US." Bumi responds with an unsure and unsettled emotion. Is this why he has been soo quite?

"If you feel him, I should too.Why can't I feel anything?"...I ask my wolf

"I DON'T KNOW EITHER ,BUT LET US WAIT A BIT..FRIDAY IS JUST AROUND THE CONER, MAYBE WE NEED TO GET ORDAINED FIRST?..." He replies

"Okay, just keep me updated if anything..."

"Hello!!...Earth to Arian!" Tony interrupts while waving his hand in front of my face. I should just cut it off. How dare he interrupts such an important conversation."No I did not find my mate and I am okay..so Goodbye..you know where the door is." I answer back to Tony with a stone face while pointing towards my bedroom door with my thumb.

" You are such a buzz kill, I don't know how you are going to handle your lover boy, he apparently can talk more than I can. Well, he used to, before whatever happened to him last year. He looks a bit different now . Anyway changing topics...which player are you...I will take the girl with the tutu..I've always wanted to wear one."..Tony replies while picking up one of my controllers and placing the snack bowl on his stomach.I guess he isn't leaving.I feel the need to ask him more about Gail, but my father is right.Gail will tell me when the time is right, or if he wants to.I just have to be patient, or wait a few more days until I have the right to read the classified files.

"I am the guy in red pyjamas, and his Name is Gail, he is not my mate but he is my new fond friend. I will introduce you to him soon." I reply back to Tony while staring at the screen in front of us with the same stone face.

" Well, I would love to meet him." He replies with a genuine smile that reaches his ears.

After our little conversation, Tony and I played our Zombie attack game for a few more hours until it was time to go home.After he left, I had dinner with my mum and dad as usual ,went to shower and got ready for bed. Tonight I have a different thought before Alice takes me with her on her little adventures.
