1. First Encounter

CARA POV

After I promise Janet that I will follow her to a ball she never stop talking how excited she is for the event. I think her mind and soul already at the event. At first I try to refuse her but before my mouth say anything she already give me three reason for me to must attend this ball.

First, it's has been so long since I never went to any event after I broke up with my ex boyfriend. And yes he is one of businessman that on his rise at the moment. Second, there is a lot of business tycoon will come to the event and that I should've find someone that more capable than my ex's. Third, I am sure that my mom asking for her to bring me along because my mom knows that I will come along if Janet is the who ask me. With those reason I can't say any excuses.

Janet is a friend, my bestfriend for life, my sister but not by blood since we are kid. We went to the same school and enrolled the same university. She is major in business management and art just like the rest of her family. Because why not, she is the eldest daughter and the heir to one of top 5 business tycoon in New York. Our family know each other. That's why we end up know each other since then.

As for me, I surely thanked God that I have two elder brother that will taking care of our family business. And that's mean, I am as a their younger little sister can do anything I want. Sometime or this mean time. Since I majored in medical and business, I recently opened up my own clinic. After a month I persuaded my father that I don't want to work at our family company and that I can stand on my own strength. But with one condition. That one condition that make me want to scream until I am out of breathe. Marriage.

Before my mind went elsewhere Janet tap my shoulder.

"Let's get ready for shopping I can't wait to try out some dress" she said and I reply with smile and excited face.

Arnol the driver open the car door for us to let us in. He start the car and glance at me as I said.

" We are going to the mall for the dress, Arnold". Without asking anything he know what I mean.

As we arrived at the mall, Arnold drop us at the entrance.

" I'll call you when we are done". He just nodded with smile and drive away.

Janet and I go to our first stop. We try several dresses while talking and laughing happily. She choose the off-shoulder dress and little sparkle in black color while I pick bare back red satin dress with thin strap that show my back up to my waistline.

"Oh my God look at you. You are so fucking sexy. You want to make them drooling don't you?" she said and I roll my eyes listening to her.

Before I could respond to her she gasp closing her mouth.

" Do you think Alex will be there?" as she reffering to my ex's.

"I don't know and don't care about it." and shrugged my shoulder.

She come close to me again and said.

" Your father said that he arrange for your marriage with a businessman do you know who is he? and which company that he work for?"

And yet again I shrug my shoulder while shaking my head as I don't know who he was. The guy is quite mystery.

After that we drop the talk about my ex's and the 'future husband' of mine. Then we continue go to heel store. I choose the black heel with little chain strap to my ankle. While Janet choose the one that without the strap but in the same color as mine. After that we go to jewelry store. We went to Pandora as it our favorite. As we enter the store the lady welcome us with smile.

"Welcome to Pandora ladies" she said.

We both enter the store. The moment I enter the store there is something that catch my eye. It's a necklace with little clover flower shape crystal. And the earrings too.

" Do you like to try it Miss?" the customer service said.

"Yes" I replied.

I see my reflection in the mirror and I'm in love with it. Shortly after I make my payment. Janet choose necklace and earing with green jade in it.

It already noon after we done with shopping. Both of our stomach grumbles. We go to the nearest restaurant. There is waiter waiting for us at the front.

" Hello beautiful ladies? May I know do you have a reservation?" He asked.

" No we don't." I replied with big smile on our face.

He nodded and added " Do you to get a private room or regular?".

"We go for private room" I said since Janet and I need some space to our self.

The waiter then lead us to the private room section. It's usually for the rich to preferable room since they want more privacy while eating.

While we walk to our room, some guy walk out from one of the room. As I standing in front of their door, he bump to my body and I almost fall. When I realize that there is one hand grabbing my waist and one hand on my shoulder prevent me from a fall.

"Thanks goodness I almost embrass my self." I said to my self.

Then I lift my head to see the person who help me. I gulp. 'Damn it. he's so fine'. I said in my head.

"Thank you and I'm sorry for blocking the door."

I thought he going to reply me. But he just walk away without smile or anything.

"Rude" I murmur under my breathe.

The Janet I proceed to enter the dining room, order our food and start eating.

I stare at my watch it's almost three.

" We should go now. Our appointment is at 3pm."

I said for us to go to make up and hair appointment.

" It's look like you are more excited than me for the event now" Janet said.

" It's not that I'm so excited it just that I hope time passes quickly as I can rest on my bed even faster." I said.

We arrived few minutes before the appointment. Since we are regular the staff know us. The staff smile and bring us to our favorite make up artist and hairdresser. The ball will start on 6pm. So we still got a lot of time until we arrived at the ball.

After we done, I call Arnold to pick us up. Shortly after 10 minutes he arrives.

Arnold open the door and we both enter the car. After 20 minutes on driveway we arrives at our destination.

This year the ball took place at one of famous hotel own by Greg Corporation. The car stop in front of the the red carpet. Arnold open the door for us. Once Janet and I out of the car a wave of camera flash at us as we walk through the red carpet. The ball took place on the 10th floor of the hotel. "Wow, this rich company really know how to spend their money" Janet said in awed. " You are one of them too" I said and she giggles at me. We enter the elevator and I pressed number 10. The metal door open once we arrives at the 10th floor. There is a lot of people in there. They're wearing a nice suit and pretty dresses. As I scan the whole ha most of them a businessman and women, rich families and celebrities.

From where we stand , we can see where our families is. Like always Janet's family and mine on the same table. We both greet them.

"Hi mom, dad you both so loveable" I said while give some kiss on my father and mother cheek.

" You too princess" my father said.

"Ooh look at this. who's sister is so freaking beautiful is this? "said Eric my older brother. "Well..well..well who else if not one and only our sister. Miss Cara Davinson. I wonder what my parent eat to give us such a beautiful sister" Cleo my second brother added. Everyone in the table laugh.

A waiter serve us champagne as we all talk about business, families, our day. Few moment later while we talk there is loud screams and shrieks near the hallways. All the lady adjusting their dress and make up and hurriedly go to the front. Then the emcee announce on the mic.

" Let's us all welcome our main host of the ball this year Mr Shawn Grey from Grey Corporation let's give some big applause"

then all of people at the ball applause. I try to take a glimpse of the guy but due to lot of people and his bodyguard near him I can't see his face clearly. He got a partner with him. She so beautiful in her blue dress.

The next few minute the ball started. There is a lot of delicious food. Especially the dessert. I really love cake. It's make me happy. And Janet as always trying to find the love of her life. The slowly music start to play.

" Everyone have a dance" the emcee added.

My father being my mother to dance floor. Janet's parent too. While me and Janet still remain seat at our chair. Both of my brother offer us a dance. We happily take their hand. I put my hand on Eric next and his hand on my waist. And Janet is dancing with Cleo.

" Sister don't you think your dress quite revealing? what if your husband went crazy by the beauty and sexy of yours? " Eric said to me.

"Ugh it's been a week since the last time I said to you that I'm not married yet and I don't fucking know who's is my husband because our whole family don't give me a fucking clue about this so call husband of mine." I said little bit of annoyance.

"Oh dearly sister it is not my job for me tell you who is your husband is. It is his job to find you and it is you job to find him. Only father know who he is. " he smirks to my face. As the song change we change dance partner too. As I'm with Cleo and Eric with Janet. I saw smile on my Eric's lips. It is what I'm thinking. My brother like my bestfriend?

There is no way he like her. I think he just smile at her silly face.

"So my dearest brother Cleo" I smile at him while dancing.

" Yes little princess" he smile back at me.

" With your little princess command I shall you have any idea who is my so called husband is?" I ask him.

" Eric must don't know who your so called husband then that's why you ask me" he respond sarcastically.

"If I tell you who is he what would be the price then?" he ask again.

"Well I'lol think about it. Maybe I'll run errands for you for a week. " I replied.

"That's a rare of price my little princess. But sadly my princess me too don't know who he is. he is so myster that only our father know about him. " he said smirks at me annoyingly.

"Don't you think my answer quite good for me to take the price? I mean I really need someone who can do some errands for me." he said again.

I wonder if the other family have a annoying brothers just like mine. Sometimes they bring nerves to my head.

After a dancing few minute I need a break. It's been so long since I attend event and have a dance my leg become weak. I go to dessert section and get my self a slice of red velvet cake.

"hmm this is so delicious. I can even dance for an entire hour of this event after eating this cake." I talk to myself. I eat the cake happily. Happy tummy happy me. I take a glass of champagne. This is third glass. I should have not drink anymore after this glass or I be drunk. I don't why I can't tolerate my alcohol. I'm down after more than three glasses of alcohol. My alcohol tolerance is so slow.

I try to find Janet and I sweet her talking to my brother. I signal to her that I'm going to washroom. As I exit the hall I go straight to the washroom. I wash my hand and apply my lipstick again. 'That's hot' I murmured. Then I heard the toilet flush and I saw the girl with blue dress come out. She so beautiful. She smile at me and I smile back.

"Can I use your lipstick?" she said

I happily give it to her. The way she apply her lipstick so perfect. Those nose so perfect and her mouth look so soft. Sometimes I wonder if I'm a into girl. I doubt it. It's just me love the way they have a pretty face.

"You look so pretty" I said to her.

" Not as beautiful as you are" she look at me.

We both chuckles.

"I'm Shirley. Shirley Grey. my brother drag me to the ball" she said her name and explain to me.

" oh I'm Cara. Cara Davinson I'm also got drag by my friend and family too" I chuckles.

"So you are that young miss of Davinson's Family. I heard about you. You've opened up your own clinic recently. I wish I can be you to do something I really love to. " she explained again.

"It just a small clinic. I don't quite like doing business. maybe not for now. You alas can do what you want" I said.

"I wish that too. But you know when you are born with family that handle big company it is hard for me to do what I love to. " she tells me as we walk out of washroom and head back to the ball event.

Shirley bring me to their table because she said that there is no one in her table that she want to talk to. All the man talk about business while she the only flower who only seat there watch them. Not until she met me. She introduce me to her brother as her friend. I smile to her brother. But he didn't respond back.

" Cara just ignore my brother. He is always like that. he don't talk to girl except our family and for business." Shirley explain to me.

I only nodded to the explanation. Just then soft music come again and the emcee ask us to dance with our partner.

"Mr Greg why don't you have a dance with us too? " the emcee look at the Shirley's brother. He nodded and look at her sister to have a dance with her. But her sister decline his offer and said that she tired and ask me to dance with her brother.

"Cara why don't you dance with my brother. I've dance for long time before I went to washroom just now and my ankle still sore from it. can you please help me?" with her pity face she show me. I just hardly out smile on my face when I hear some said something.

"May I have a dance with you Miss Davinson?" he give his to me.

I awkwardly smile to me and put my hand on his.

Everyone in the ballroom claps for us. He place my hand on his neck and his hand on my waist. Once his hand touch on my waist. It's send shiver to my back and I tighten my grip on his neck.

"Easy sweetheart. No one can take me from you" he said with little smile on his face. I feel my cheeks blush that I can see how red is my cheeks is. When I try to examine his face I see his lips they're so nice until I wonder what it would taste like. Then I meet his eyes. They're so beautiful gray eyes. His gaze so soft that any women would fall in love if they looking straight to his eyes. It's make blush again as he keep stating at me. I lower my eyes to see his lips again. The urges to taste that lips is drives me crazy.

I need to make my self calm. I take a deep breathe. The music slowly faded and it end our dance. And I gesture Shirley that I have to go back to my seat. And she smile at me and wave her hand. As for me to return to to my family where we seat. Everyone smiles at me when I take a seat. And of course Janet she is the most excited and she making sure that I fill in the tea how I suddenly dance with Mr Grey.
