First Morning In The Wilderness

Shen Yu stared at him as he slept for a while. She thought 'I have to do all I can. Even if it is as simple as making a meal or letting you sleep first. If it helps even a little it is worth it. I can't do anything else to help after all.'

She stared at him for a while admiring his features while he slept and then started cultivating again. She knew that the only way for her to catch up with him was to cultivate. Even if she couldn't catch up to him she still vowed to herself to try her best.

'At the very least I can't be a burden.'

Even while cultivating she could still pay attention to the outside world as long as she wasn't too engrossed in it.

Yun Tian only slept for a few hours. Shen Yu noticed when he woke up so she stopped cultivating and said "Good morning. I will sleep for a while too now."

"Thank you for letting me sleep first. Get some sleep now."

After that Shen Yu actually climbed right into the spot he was sleeping in previously.

Inwardly she thought 'This is one more benefit of letting him sleep first. I get to lay in his warmth while sleeping.'

She snuggled up in the blankets and drifted off into her fantasies while sleeping.

Yun Tian watched her lay right in the spot he was in previously and felt a little guilty. He thought she must be extremely tired since she just immediately laid in the spot he was in previously. In reality though she liked this arrangement.

Just like Shen Yu did previously he watched her fall asleep. Yun Tian looked at her and was happy seeing her face engrossed in her dreams.

It wasn't only happiness he felt though. Seeing her face like that made him want to train even harder. He wanted to be able to protect her and give her the whole world.

With his determination once more reaffirmed he walked out of the cave.

There was some light outside from the sunrise now. He looked into the distant sky and thought 'I will bring Shen Yu through the sky one day.'

He shook all of these dreamy thoughts out of his head and took out the last skill manual he had. He read it's name once more and looked forward to the skill. It was called fluid footwork.

He read through the manualand found that the skill was quite interesting and could be of great use. The skill was completely made for battle and not for travelling using the movement skill.

It would still be faster to travel using the movement technique than not, but that was not important. Both of Yun Tian's main skills right now, fleeting steps and deadly flash, used extreme bursts of speed to try and overwhelm his opponent.

This skill however was not based around how fast he could move. It was all about being as fluid as water and easily dodging your opponents. Yun Tian thought 'This skill must be very useful when paired with flowing stream sword style. They are quite compatible with each other. That elder from the Chen clan must have been strong among experts from the same layer.'

'Oh well these skills are mine now. All of the skills will add great flexibility in my battle style and increase my foundation for learning skills.'

Having read through the skill he memorized the forms. He tried to perform the skill's forms, but realized 'even if I perform these forms in a fight while they might help a little in dodging, they probably won't be of much help. It seems this skill isn't that great until you reach later stages with it.'

He still progressed quite quickly with the skill since it was similar to the sword sill he practiced before. He reached grasping form after a few hours, but still had some way to mastering form.

He thought 'Progressing with either flowing stream sword style or fluid footwork will greatly help me with the other. Once I make progress with one, I will be able to achieve progress with both. These skills are definitely worth training.'

At this moment Shen Yu came out of the cave. Seeing that Yun Tian had made progress with yet another skill made her pout slightly, but she got over it quickly.

Seeing her face and realizing what she must be thinking Yun Tian could only smile.

He said " Good morning, I'll go catch a beast and make breakfast wait here."

Shen Yu stopped him saying "No, it is my job to make food."

After that she sped away without waiting for him to reply.

He waited for a few minutes still thinking about his comprehension of his skills. He didn't have to wait for long since Shen Yu soon came back with a dead boar in the bag on her back.

Seeing this he said "Hurry up and break through into dantian building so you can use spatial bags."

Seeing him trying to encourage her instead had the opposite effect and she said to him "It takes others a lot of time to cultivate you know."

"Sorry, I'm wrong."

"Yes you are. Now wait for food."

With that said she made a makeshift fire pit and started a fire. She then started to roast the meat and Yun Tian sat by the side waiting. Soon their food was done and they once again sat on the log by the cave eating. They made small talk while eating and Yun Tian would give her some tips.

After they were done eating Yun Tian said "I am going to go hunt some demonic beasts. I will use their demonic beast cores to break through. After I break through, we can go back into town again."

Shen Yu was a little sad she would be alone here for a while and then they would go back into town. Mostly though she was just hoping he would be fine on his hunts. She knew she couldn't come along.

She said "Just be careful alright."
