Time for Your Test

👠💄👯

The door buzzed open and the Nun's pointy heels catwalked into the room, which was now beight with the morning sunlight streaming in. Meredith was still asleep when someone yelled in her ear.

"Get up now! It's time for your test!"

In her sleepy state she didn't realize it was the nun, so she closed her eyes and went back to sleep. What woke her up was loud blaring sound from the ceiling and she jumped on her bed to see the Nun staring at her with disdain in her eyes while all the girls were already awake, watching her from their side eyes.

"I said it is time for your test. Where do you are? On a vacation! Get up and come with me now!"

Meredith wanted to hesitate or say no to the nun's request but the look on her face showed that she was meant business. She was followed hard, looking towards her friends to explain to her what the so-called test meant but Valerie wasn't even looking at her, and she was trying so hard to hide face from the Nun.

With no choice and no one to explain to her what life was to be like in the Siren Home, she followed the nun, her heart beating loudly in her own ears. They were almost at the door when the nun swirled around and turned towards the girl and Meredith almost bumped into her. The stern look she got from the nun made her move quickly to the side as she faced the girls just like the nun was doing.

Her eyes were glued to the door that had buzzed open and she thought of taking her chances and running out to the door before anyone could catch up with her. But there was suddenly a huge man standing on the door like someone had heard her thoughts of escape. She couldn't get herself to look at his menacing face and she had to stay focused on the room and what the nun had to say.

"Well, as is customary in The Siren Home, there is always a hierarchy. Not every girl gets the same privileges that the other enjoys. And because of this, there's always competition between you girls. You are all lucky to be at the top of the chain for now. But you are not the most wanted girl. You can be easily discarded at any time. Mercy or should I call her Celine was the most sought-after girl but her position is about to be taken by someone far better" Her eyes roamed over Meredith's slender figure clad in an elegant, pink sleeping dress like the rest of the girls.

Meredith wanted to speak out about not wanting to take Mercy's place but the nun continued in her usual cold manner.

"I am saying this because I know jealousy exists amongst you and I am making it known that Meredith is not to be toiled with. She's not to have any single mark on her body until she'taken. Right now, she's the most valued possession in The Siren Home" The Nun announced like she was expecting some kind of response from the girls but they all kept a plain look on their faces.

"But it all depends on if she's truly as pure and innocent as we've have been told. If she's not… there's a worse fate waiting for her. Have a nice day girls, and of course, remember our routines as usual. Some of you girls are lagging behind and you know what happens when that keeps happening." She looked at each of them, and finally left with that threat hanging in the air.

Meredith followed her with a heart pounding with fear.

"Do you think she would become the most sough-after girl… would she pass the test?" Valerie asked Vitoria, feeling restless as she hoped deep within her that Meredith would fail her test and become a cast-off.

"I feel you are becoming too obsessed with her. Why not focus on working on healing your face?"

"I am not obsessed with her. I am merely asking a question. You know young girls of today are barely ever virgins. She is well above 18 and will most likely fail the test. She will definitely fail the test. And I cannot wait for the good news"

"You may be grossly disappointed. Not every girl is like you" Victoria answered.

"What do you mean by that? I never chose this life!"

"You are becoming increasingly irrational and it may put you in trouble soon"

Valerie swallowed the words of insults she wanted to hurl at Valeria and focused on praying for Meredith's downfall. If she couldn't have her freedom, Meredith wouldn't get hers either.

Just like Victoria had predicted Meredith was indeed untouched and she had to sit through a degrading exercise as she was examined by some older women. She couldn't just understand why they were doing this to her and why they thought they had the right to give her body to the highest bidder. She would never become their plaything, vomiting money for them. She must find a way out of here even if she would die trying.

"Hey… look at me...you belong here now and there is no leaving for you until you are no longer a source of pleasure for our clients with very rich and unique tests. And when our clients tire of you, we will decide how your life ends. Yes, we own you now. And Your life at the Siren Home just began. You passed the test and your uncle was absolutely right" the nun stated coldly even though she could see the young girl was in pain and was literally weeping.

"What would happen to me? I do not want this life." Meredith managed to ask.

"Well, I will, of course, spread the news about your purity and then you will be auctioned to the highest bidder for a period of time"

"Auctioned like I am some commodity?"

"Of course that's precisely what you are… a commodity of the Siren Home"

"Oh! No, please! How can you be okay with this? Don't you feel remorse for ruining so many lives? What did I ever do to you?"

"Get up now, you silly girl" The nun growled at her. The Nun had really wicked words to say to the little girl but she knew the camera was always watching every one of them.

Meredith thought of defining her for a moment but the nun dragged her forcibly by her arm and stared directly into her eyes, her angry eyes squinting as she yelled into her face.

"You must learn to master your emotions if you wish to endure here. You may be the most sought-after girl now, but a single act of disobedience from you can result in severe punishment. You don't want to experience that side of the Siren Home. So, get up and prepare your mind for the day you'll be auctioned. You've just passed the initial test; there are more to come. Now, back to your room."

Meredith walked back to her room, trembling with fear. When Valerie saw her in tears, she assumed Meredith had failed the test. A wicked smile suddenly crept across her face as she decided to approach Meredith and feign sympathy. "The foolish girl thought she was special," she chuckled silently to herself.
