Chapter 17: Training Day (4)

Hey guys, I just wanna say this will be the only chapter for the silver dragon I'll be uploading as life is currently kicking my ass right now and working on other projects; so sorry about that. I'll make the following chapters longer for you guys when I upload them to make it up to you guys.

(Third Person POV)

The Queen let out a spine-chilling shriek before shooting a string of green fluid that came from its abdomen at Ruby and Yang. With their senses screaming at them to move, both the girls jump away from the Queen's ranged attack trajectory.

When the strange liquid splattered the floor, steam began to emit from the area, and after a few seconds, there was a medium-sized hole in the ground.

"Great, the ugly bitch can shoot acid!!" Yang whined in annoyance.

Why couldn't anything ever be nice and easy?! It was so unfair!

Pulling out her weapon, Ruby replied. "Stop complaining and fight!"

Yang begrudgingly did as her younger sister said while uttering about Draco being a sadistic bastard and wishing she could punch him in the family jewels.

The young Seraph then began unloading several explosive incendiary rounds at the Queen's disfigured face. However, much to Ruby's chargin', the Grim easily evaded all the projectiles with the grace and speed a creature of its size had no right having.

The giant Grim made its way toward the silver-eyed girl and attempted to impale her with one of its legs, but Ruby jumped out of the way before its leg impaled the ground.

The Queen attempted to give chase to the Seraph but stopped when the leg it attended to stabbed Ruby with was deep into the ground.

The gigantic Grim growled in annoyance and slowly pulled out its leg, but in the meantime, it summoned aid to keep the unwanted occupied.

To the girl's disgust, several dozen spider-shaped Grims came out of the Queen's abdomen covered in greenish-white fluids.

They then charged toward Ruby and Yang, with a majority of them moving toward the former and only three going in the latter's direction.

Yang charged toward its attackers, then moved to the left to avoid an acidic projectile from one of the Grim in the back.

The Grim in front of her leaped at the blonde, but Yang landed a direct hit on the spider Grim abdomen, causing it to explode into a chunky and gooey mess. Internal fluids and body parts painted the blonde body, much to her utter horror and disgust.

"This is so gross!!!" Yang whined.

Despite her revulsion, the blonde pushed forward and ran toward the second spider, Grim. The second attacker leaped at the blonde.

Not wanting to share the same fate as its previous ally, the spider Grim shot a web at Yang's face in mid-air. The blonde managed to avoid the attack, but unfortunately for her, the spider managed to tackle her to the ground.

Yang quickly pushed the spider Grim off her and punched the Grim in the face with the same force as she did with the first one. The blonde stood up and tilted her to the right to evade another acidic projectile. She then rushed toward the last of her attackers.

The spider Grim attempted to leap back to avoid a close-quarters confrontation, but Yang wasn't having that as she grabbed by the abdomen while it was in mid-air. Then, with little effort, she grabbed the Grimm at both ends of its sides and split it in half, then tossed body parts to the side.

Yang then ran toward the still-stuck Queen, and when she got close enough, she enhanced her leg muscles and then jumped on top of the Grim.

Feeling there was something on it, the Queen twisted its body to face the direction Yang was in. When it spotted Yang, it let out a shriek, and it swiped its claws at the blonde. Yang ducked underneath its arm and landed an uppercut below the Queen's chin, which caused it to stumble and then trip.

Meanwhile, Ruby was evading, slashing, and shooting at the spider Grims attacking her. The young Seraph danced around their attacks with ease while killing one or several Grim in the process, and once Ruby was done dealing with her attackers, she looked in the Queen's direction to see the large Grim fall to the ground.

Due to how the Queen fell, its leg bent at the wrong angle and promptly snapped off when it hit the ground. The large Grim let out a shriek of agony, but its cries were short-lived as Yang punched it in the jaw, breaking it in one punch.

However, much to Yang's annoyance, the damage she'd done to the large Grim healed rapidly, and it regenerated another leg.

The Queen again tried to swipe its claws at the blonde, but having the advantage of superior combat skills made it easy for her to block her attacks and retaliate with her own.

Yang slammed her fists into the Grim's face repeatedly while also going for body shots, but any damage she did toward the Queen healed within seconds.

The Queen, tired of taking a beating from the small human, shot a web toward the ceiling and ascended, causing the blonde to fall to the ground.

The future huntress managed to land on her feet but did stumble back a few feet. Once it reached the ceiling, the Queen rapidly produced more Grim spiders and had them attack both girls before they could do anything else.

Ruby rapidly fired at the descending Grim spiders, and for any that surprised or she missed, Yang quickly dealt with them.

"How much Aura you got left?" Ruby asked Yang while stilling, shooting down Grim.

"Seventy-five percent, I think," Yang replied while grabbing a Grim spider and tearing it in two like tissue paper. She then threw the body parts at two other Grims spiders with enough force to kill them. "Why?"

"We'll have to overwhelm its regeneration by wearing it out, and I've got a plan to do that," Ruby answered. "But first..." the Seraph shot toward where the Queen was located with an explosive round, and upon making an impact, the ceiling collapsed, causing the large Grim to fall face-first into the ground.

"Now what?" Yang asked.

"Here," Ruby took dozens of tiny disk-shaped objects from her pouch and handed them to her sister. "Plant those around her legs, and when you're done, move out of the way. I'll do my best to cover you from her minions," she went to engage the horde of Grim spiders.

Yang took them and did as her younger sister said. While the blonde went to engage the Queen, Ruby slaughtered dozens upon dozens of Grim spiders and shot any that got too close to Yang.

The blonde ran toward the still recovering Queen, and when she got close enough, she began planting the explosives on the large Grim's knee kneecaps. Once that was done, Yang jumped back several meters.

Yang looked toward her sister, who just finished slaughtering all the Grim spiders, and yelled. "You're good to go!!"

Ruby looked at her and nodded. She then set off the explosives. All eight of the Queens blew off, causing her body to fall to collapse to the ground, letting out cries of agony.

"YANG, ENHANCE YOUR ATTACK TO FIFTEEN PERCENT, AND THEN ON MY MARK, WE STRIKE AT THE SAME TIME!!" Ruby shouted while empowering her weapon.

"GOT It!!!" Yang did as was told and charged up her gauntlets to fifteen percent potency.

"NOW!!!"

When Ruby and Yang were only a few meters from the Queen, they let out battle cries and swung their respective weapons as hard as they could at the downed Grim. When their combined attack made contact with the Queen, it let out a howl of agony and began to glow a myriad of colors before abruptly fading into nothingness.

"You know I was expecting something a little more...dramatic," Yang commented, sounding disappointed.

"Yeah..." Ruby frowned slightly. "Not going to lie, I thought she would explode like a balloon. But I'm not complaining saves us from having to take another shower."

Yang shivered in disgust at the thought of being covered in Grim fluids, flesh, and innards. "That wouldn't have been fun to clean, that was for damn fucking sure. It would be a pain to get out of my hair."

Ruby rolled her eyes in amusement and shook her head. "Sometimes, I think you love your hair more than me and Mom."

Yang looked at her sister with a look of offense. "Hey, I do not. I just like taking care of it," she played with strands of her golden locks. "Besides, what's wrong with wanting to look good?"

"Like is a bit of an understatement..." Ruby said with an amused tone. "And there's wrong with wanting to look nice, but would it kill you not to take forever in the bathroom? Me and Mom have to get stuff done too, you know!" the Seraph complained while throwing her arms in the air.

Yang gave Ruby a sheepish expression and rubbed the back of his head. "Hehehe yeah...sorry about that."

Ruby shook her head and turned around. "Come on, we still have an entire nest to clear," she began, walking toward the tunnel to the right.

The blonde groaned and went to walk next to the Seraph. "Can't we use those explosives you have and blow the place up?"

"My bombs aren't strong enough to do that," Ruby informed her with a pout. "Draco won't let me use the better materials until I prove I'm responsible enough to use them."

Yang nodded in agreement at that. "Understandable you tend to go overboard when it comes to weapons," the blonde teased.

"No, I don't!" Ruby shouted indignantly and glared at her older sister.

"You blew up a quarter of the house last year," Yang pointed out, looking at her sister with a deadpan expression.

"I...um...uh...ok, yeah, I have nothing to say about that," Ruby dropped her head and shoulders in depression.

"Thought so," Yang chuckled.

(Timeskip)

By the time Ruby and Yang managed to clean out the Grim nest, it was nearly five pm. The girls came walking out of the nest, looking equally disheveled and drained. Draco looked at the two with amusement while Summer ran up to them, letting her maternal instincts kick in, checking them for serious injuries and asking a dozen questions a minute.

Draco walked up to the two and said. "You two did well," he patted their heads affectionally, making both the girls blush, but they leaned into his touch, enjoying the sensation it brought to their heads, much to Summers and Draco's amusement. "You two have more than earned your reward; thus, I'll be giving you two weeks off instead," that caused the girls to beam at him and then wrap themselves around him.

"You're the best!!!" both girls shouted in unison, hugging the teen with all their strength.

Draco chuckled and hugged them back. "Thanks."

Summer smiled at her three most precious people, embracing each other lovingly.

It was these moments that made her fall even harder for Draco.

End.
