I'll hear you out

Louis didn't plan to open the door for Ansel. Louis didn't even feel slightly convinced to accept the request, but before he could fully turn away, he stopped at hearing Ansel's words.

"Please! I want…..I want to be a hero. One who can bring peace"

It sounded like nothing more than a childish dream. Even the strongest person would be incapable of bringing peace. The most that could be done was preventing as much disaster as possible in the world.

At hearing Ansel's words, Louis smiled.

'He's got the right idea. But no hero is capable of bringing peace.' Louis thought to himself.

Those who become a Royal Knight don't do it for the sake of being seen as a hero. They do it to fighting threats to the kingdom, putting their lives on the line.

In a sense, they were 'Heros' but there was only so much a single Royal Knight could do.

From outside the door, Ansel lowered his head.

His request was denied because of his actions that began the duel earlier. That was something Ansel was well aware of. Now he was left with no choice but to turn around. The door suddenly opened for him just as he was about to do so.

"Actually, come in. I guess I can hear you out." said Louis.

He didn't have to do this, but for some reason, he had a hunch that it was something he should do.

The two got seated before actually conversing.

Ansel apologized for his rude and unforgivable actions earlier. By his expression, he truly did regret it.

"I'm...I'm sorry for earlier. I thought if I could defeat you, I could obtain your title of Royal Knight."

"It's fine, I guess. I should let you know, though. As you are, there's no chance you would have even beaten the weakest Royal Knight."

However, it was funny. The weakest Royal Knight was fairly strong and more well-known than the other's. Her name was Estelle, and she was a prodigy in swordsmanship.

Ansel replied, "I am aware. I figured that there was a chance I could land a knockout shot with one of my spells. It seems like a whole lot isn't up to luck in a duel."

Though Ansel's spells were pretty advanced for someone his age, it would take a lot more than that to win a fight. During the duel, it was apparent that he didn't do much strategizing, which is a major mistake to begin with.

Louis pointed out, "By the way you fought earlier, I can tell that you don't have much experience in combat. If you really want to be a Royal Knight one day, you need to train yourself for most situations. Do that and then you might have a slight chance of making it."

Arsenal kneeled down in front of Louis and made the request once more.

"Please. I know you probably shouldn't because of how I acted earlier, but I want to ask something of you. Will you mentor me to become strong?"

"Becoming strong is something that depends on you. But mentoring should be easy. If you just want to learn how to fight and all that, why don't you just hire a personal trainer?" Louis asked.

"There are reasons why I can't do that."

Ansel's father, mother and even each of his siblings were against him becoming a Royal Knight. So, they wouldn't allow him to have much combat training. The most he was allowed to have was magic knowledge.

Louis went on to let out a bold cough, clearing his throat.

"Well. From this moment on, I am your mentor."

He glanced over to the window, where the sun was beginning to go down.

Louis followed up, "Tonight, I need to do some things. We'll start your first lesson some time tomorrow."

Ansel sprung to his feet, filled with excitement.

"Wait really? You, a Royal Knight will actually mentor me?"

Louis brushed him away as he was getting to close.

"Yeah, yeah. I'll do it. For now, just go to sleep or something. I'll come get you tomorrow morning."

"Okay. I'll be off, then."

Ansel dashed out of the room, energetically.

With him being gone, Louis let out a sigh to focus on his current worry.

From what he learned from Cruz, he would need to find the guild of knowledge in order to track down the man called 'Faust'

It was a good thing he knew of a spot in town where he could find one of the guild's hide-outs.
