Chap 3. Skeleton

The story may be missing a few things but anyone would understand the jist of it.

The car suddenly swerved to the right, breaking Astro out of his trance like state and causing Alisha to suddenly scream and hold onto the emergency handle.

Tommy had seen someone be pushed out onto the road by a group of teenagers, the person fell right in front of their car and caused Tommy to have a tiny panic attack before jumping into action.

He expertly turned the car and braked, completely missing the person that was sprawled out on the road now.

"Sorry everyone, small mishap occurred, someone was thrown or pushed out onto the road right infront of us. Would you like me to check if they were alright or would you rather I leave?" Tommy explained everything, making Astro aware of the situation and giving him a choice.

"Tommy.. what reason would be have to leave that person out there?" He asked back, "being more late..?" Tommy replied with an unsure voice.

"Just get out of the car and check on them, come open the door for me, I'll come too." Astro said before reaching for the door, Alisha also agreed to come.

They all started walking towards the dead looking person that was sprawled on the ground, well Astro couldn't obviously.

Tommy guided them to the persons side as Alisha held onto Astro's arm.

"Hey man, you ok?" Tommy called out when they were a meter away, he was kind of cautious of the person since this could all be a trick to get them out of the confines of the car.

The person didn't give any response to him though, they didn't even move. Tommy walked closer, bringing Astro and Alisha with him.

He reached towards the person neck where the pulse would be, not even knowing what exactly to look for. Unlike his driving skills, his medical skills were almost zero, infact the only thing he could remember was that the pulse was where the neck was.

"Um, Astro.. Alisha.. I don't know that much about taking someone pulse or whatever it's called." Tommy said as he slowly turned to them. Astro face palmed and Alisha laughed.

"Dont worry, I know since I got an AI to read out the medical books to me." Astro reassured, "just take me to the persons neck" He instructed. Tommy complied and took Astro closer to the person, Astro reached out to where he thought the persons neck would be since he was crouched down.

He fingertips brushed the skin of the person, their smooth skin sparked an interest in Astro. Astro proceeded to feel out the area until he felt the slight movement underneath his fingers.

"He has a very slow heart beat which isn't good, can you describe the person to me like wrist size, estimation of muscle mass on an arm or something, skin tone." Astro asked, trying to find the reason for why the persons heart beat was so slow. They hadn't hit them so that wouldnt be the cause and the shock would have last for a minute at most but they have been sprawled out for 5 minutes at most.

"Their skin is dull-ish, well, they look sick. Oh, it's a man I think. He looks thin, like he hasn't eaten in a few days." Tommy informed, "Astro, Astro, he also has a few scars along his arms." Alisha cut in.

"Oh, wait, do their eyes look hollow like, and are their cheekbones kind of too defined?" Astro had an epiphany, the man could just be malnourished, due to the lack of food or something. He also must be getting bullied or attacked for some reason due to the scars.

"Yes, I think so." Tommy said unsurely, "I'm guessing they are unconscious so we need to take him to a hospital or something." Astro informed when he felt the pulse go even slower.

"But schoo-" Tommy was cut-off, "When a person is possibly dying, forget about school. This is our city remember, I will not let someone die when I can take care of them" Astro stated. Even if he was blind,  that doesn't mean he was blind to the pain of others.

"Alright, your call Astro. I will carry him then, where would you like to go?" Tommy inquired, Alisha wanted to help so she suggested a well known hospital, "Kritensbirg Hospital, I'm sure they can help, right?"

Astro nodded his head as confirmation and Tommy was squating down to put his arms under the man's back and legs. Astro had already stood up and taken Alisha's hand back to the car.

Alisha ushered Astro into the back seat and Tommy placed the unconscious man beside Astro. They then made their way to the hospital which was a 10 minutes drive there.

Along the way, because of the turns, the unconscious man leaned onto Astro, there was even some drool escaping his mouth and making its way onto his vest.

Luckily, Astro didn't mind.

On a sharp turn left, the man was accidentally slammed into the door, knocking him out of his unconscious state.

His eyes widened when he saw a random man sitting beside him, and why was he in some rando's car?!

"Uhhh... Who the hell are you? And where am I?" He demanded. His practically being kidnapped! Why should he be polite to his kidnappers?

Astro jolted in his seat, he clasped his belt and turned towards the voice.

"Hello? Are you awake now? Sorry, you were almost hit by us and you fell unconscious, we were taking you to the hospital" He quickly explained, mainly because the man's voice was so deep that he was scared slightly.

"No need, and why aren't you looking at me in the eye?" The man questioned, he didn't restrain his rude undertone one bit.

With Astro left hand, he grabbed the cane that was in the holder on the door, he picked it up and showed the man, "I'm blind, so I probably can't look you in the eye mate." He stated with a sissy undertone.

"Anyway, we're still taking you to the hospital, your practically skin and bones." He remarked. "What's your name, Skeleton?" He questioned, he wasn't even holding back his insults in the slightest.

Yes he did say that he would help, but the man was rude first, so he will gladly respond with the same rude tongue.

The man rolled his eyes and clicked his tongue, "Theo. I don't need to go to the hospital, just a meal from the trash would be fine." He said as a matter of fact.

He was expecting to see the rando's face contort to disgust but it surprisingly didn't, which was weird since most nobles clearly have a hatred for those poorer than themselves.

"I will treat you to a meal then, but you must get checked up, even me, a blind man, could tell that you are abnormally thin. Maybe even malnourished from the lack of food." Astro decided. Theo tried to refuse Astro but Astro wasn't asking, he was stating what will happen, which gave Theo no room to reject.

"TOMMY!" Astro called out, since the wall was up since he hated listening to others conversations in the car, he had to scream for them to hear him.

Soon, the little latch was opened and Alisha's head poked in. "Oh, the skeleton over here has woken up, Tommy." Alisha said. Theo scoffed at the word 'skeleton' but he couldn't deny the fact since he honestly did look like a skeleton.

My names Theo, who are you?" He inquired, "Nice to meet ya Theo, I'm Alisha, this blind bats sister. And the dude driving is Tommy, he looks scary but his a big softy so don't be afraid of him" She exposed with no hesitation.

"Alisha! How the hell am I suppose to intimidate him now?!" Tommy called, making Astro laugh out loud.

Alisha took her head out of the hole and sat normally in her seat as she questioned her brother, "Well, what do you want Astro??"

"We will be giving Theo a meal after we take him to the hospital" He casually stated so that they wouldn't be able to reject him too.

"Fine fine, I have nothing to do anyways, I might as well get a free meal." Theo murmured underneath his breath, yet Astro could hear him clearly due to his advanced hearing capabilities, he didn't comment though.

"Dont do anything to Astro or else i won't hesitate to murder you." Tommy grumbled. He wouldn't be able to live with himself if Astro got hurt due to his carelessness.

Theo rolled his eyes, "How can I hurt him when I can hardly move my limbs let alone have the strength to hold even a blind man down." He remarked.

"We're here everyone. Don't leave the car yet Theo." Tommy ordered using his commanding tone. "Dont worry, I won't be moving anything soon" Theo said reassuringly.

Tommy and Alisha exited the car, only to go to Astro's and Theo's door, Tommy picked up Theo as Alisha put Astro's hand on her shoulder.
