Chapter 17 Don't Want The Relationship To Go Sour

"Wait, Grandma!" Aaron Liu tried to stop Mrs. Jiang, who happened to be walking towards her granddaughter's room.

Something was unsettling about the hostess's anger. Aaron Liu had to ensure that nothing terrible happened between grandmother and her granddaughter.

He would feel very guilty if their relationship deteriorated because of him. Aaron Liu wouldn't let that happen. It would be better if he were the victim of the dispute.

"What's wrong, Aaron? I have to punish my granddaughter so that she can respect others. She has been spoiled too much and has a bad attitude." Mrs. Jiang stood not far from the young man. She noticed that Aaron Liu was uncomfortable under the circumstances.

"Don't do anything to Miss Jiang, Grandma. What she said earlier is true. I accidentally hit the car she was riding in myself and couldn't pay for the loss. Miss Jiang was kind enough to pay for the damages." Aaron Liu persuaded the old lady who had been so kind to him.

Their relationship soured because of Aaron Liu's existence. As a responsible man, he had to do something to keep Grandma Jiang from doing something to hurt her granddaughter.

It doesn't matter if Aaron Liu has to sacrifice himself a little. He would do anything for them as long as Grandma Jiang and her granddaughter's relationship would be fine.

"Are you defending my spoiled granddaughter?" Mrs. Jiang accused a handsome man of staying at her house for several days.

"Not defending, Grandma. That's the fact. Miss Jiang has been very kind to me. Can I ask Grandmother not to punish her?" Aaron Liu said that in a pleading tone. He treasured it if the relationship between grandmother and her granddaughter remained good.

Mrs. Jiang was silent for a moment, and she wasn't sure of all the words from Aaron Liu. She could be deliberately lying to her to defend Jiang Lily. That was the only thought the woman had.

However, seeing how seriously and sincerely Aaron Liu pleaded, Mrs. Jiang finally gave up. She turned around and approached the man who had helped her many times.

"I'll take your word for it this time, Aaron. Next time, don't try to defend that brat!" warned Mrs. Jiang before leaving Aaron Liu there alone.

"Thank you, Grandma," Aaron Liu said in a loud voice to be heard by the old woman already walking away from him.

Aaron Liu felt quite relieved. At least he could make sure that Mrs. Jiang wouldn't give her granddaughter any punishment. That was enough to make him feel at ease. He hurried to his room to change his clothes.

Just a few steps from the door of his room, someone was already standing with a sharp and hateful gaze. It was obvious that Jiang Lily had been eavesdropping on their conversation.

"What have you done to my grandmother to be so obedient to your words? Have you poisoned my grandmother's mind? Have you been sent by someone to spy on this house?" Jiang Lily accused the man who held a special place in her grandmother's heart.

"Sorry, Miss. It seems you've misunderstood," Aaron Liu rebutted to the accusations of the granddaughter of a woman who had been so kind to him.

"Don't be evasive, Poor man! Your face may be pretty, but I'm sure you're just a sycophant who deliberately approached and deceived my grandmother." Jiang Lily threw another accusation at Aaron Liu. She didn't care if it would offend him.

Mrs. Jiang had never really believed in anyone but herself all this time. However, what Jiang Lily saw this time was completely different. Her grandmother cared so much for the man and trusted him so much. It raised her suspicions.

Aaron Liu tried to control his feelings. He didn't want to be fooled by her words and make his eyes darken. He smiled gently at the beautiful woman who had helped him this morning.

Although Jiang Lily was a little rude, there was still compassion in her heart. Aaron Liu would not be angered by her words at all. He tried to be patient and accept whatever unkind words were directed at him.

"Don't act like an angel here! I'm warning you, don't try to get close to my grandmother!" Jiang Lily exclaimed again at a man she had met on the street earlier that morning, an unexpected encounter that ended in hatred.

"I have no intention of plotting anything evil against Grandma Jiang. Our meeting was completely accidental." Aaron Liu tried to explain that to the beautiful woman who was none other than Grandma Jiang's granddaughter. However, his explanation could have been more helpful.

Jiang Lily just laughed out loud at the man's explanation. She didn't believe every word from Aaron Liu's mouth.

"Any con artist would say that. You think I'm stupid!" snapped Jiang Lily in a loud voice.

Everyone who happened to be in the house immediately noticed the two of them. They were sure there was a big fight between the granddaughter of the house owner and a special guest staying there.

As for Aaron Liu. he was in an awkward situation. He wanted to disappear from there rather than face the woman's anger.
