The Blast

Merry was looking up, assessing and thinking how big the cliff was, when out of nowhere she saw a huge explosion.

Her first thoughts were the building where she had been living all this while, the building where Cole was still inside, the building where William and Katie had returned to, was on fire.

It was like there were fireballs in the air, lighting up the whole peripheral area around the building.

Just moments ago, Merry couldn't even see what was above the cliff. But now, she knew the fire blazing up in the hill was in the building from where they had departed not long ago. She could clearly see the whole area lighting up because of the fire.

Then came the sound, the ears numbing rumble. The sound was so loud that her hands automatically reached her ears to cover them while ducking her head. For a few seconds, she couldn't even move.

At that moment, Mr. Rogers words from earlier came to her mind suddenly.
