Getting used to

As Merry watched Mrs. Miller walk away, she couldn't help but feel a mix of confusion and fear. She pondered the sudden changes but couldn't come to a clear conclusion.

However, one thing was certain, she was Anna Wells now, and Mrs. Miller had arranged for her to receive private classes.

All of it was weird and overwhelming to Merry, her new identity and unexpected changes in circumstances, everything. It was hard to process everything that had transpired.

Merry kept sitting in the same spot, contemplating what was happening. As per Mrs. Miller, Merry was allowed to walk around the house and explore her new surroundings, but Merry felt rooted to the sofa and couldn't bring herself to move.

The next morning, Grace awakened Merry from her sleep early. When Grace pulled back the curtains, it was still early morning and darkness filled the outside. Merry groggily opened her eyes and peered out the window, wondering why Grace had woken her up so early.
