Cole started to feel like the conversation he had with the new teacher regarding the escape plan was a complete pointless dream, which he dreamed on a dreary night.
The reason why Cole was feeling like that was because it had already been more than two weeks since he last talked to the teacher. After that the teacher never once tried to approach Cole.
And the chances that Cole could himself approach the teacher without alerting anyone was very less. Cole was getting more and more desperate to the point he was falling into despair.
As the teacher had prevented him to tell his friends about the whole thing, he hadn't told anyone even though it had been two weeks. It was very hard for him to keep that to himself. In the beginning, he was so happy that they all were near the escape. He wanted to tell all his friends that they were indeed going out soon enough and there were people looking for them, trying to help them from outside.
