History has known The Originals as the Almighty among all Vampires. The beginners to the
endless wars against The Werewolves to this day. But how did it come to be? How did lowly
mortals with a pathetic excuse of a powerful witch come to what they are known now?
The Mikaelson's story has spanned over one thousand years. Their lives were difficult.
Horrendous on some occasions. There have been many werewolves attacks near the villages.
No one was safe. No one was able to protect one another. After one unfortunate attack on one
of their children, Mikael forced his wife to find a solution so they would never be attacked and
killed again.
And she did. A spell for immortality, strength, rapid healing, and speed. Many have heard it was
the spell of Ketsia that has given them this "power". That is later passed down from generation
to generation to other vampires along with the powers but inferior to that or The Originals.
But what many didn't know was that the spell used wasn't from Ketsia. But from a female
Demon named Stolas. An all powerful being. They described her beauty as that of a Greek
Goddess.
"Esther, you must reconsider. This magic you speak of breeds consequence. We don't know
what dangers it could bring to you and your family. It is a crime against nature." Ayana, Esther's
friend, warned.
"Our family could live forever." Mikael persuaded.
Ayana's voice echoes and shakes. "And what if it brought you more misfortune?! This is the
making of a plague, Esther"
Esther gives a sad glance to her friend. Pleading for her help.
Not pressed to her desperation, Esther added. "The spirits will turn on you."
"Please, Ayana, we have already lost too much. We can't lose anymore. The Spirits can help us
find a way to protect our children." Esther pleads.
All three did not realize one of their children was listening in on them.
Ayana turns a cold shoulder and walks out the door. "I will have no part in it." The door shuts.
As the door closes, Mikael walks up to her wife, places his hand on her shoulder, catching her
attention. "If she will not protect our family and it is in your hands, my love.
With this task now on her shoulder, Esther had to quicken her search for a solution. And so in
search she shall. Reading every book, listening to every rumor, until finally a disturbance rose
through the village.
"What's going on?" Esther asked one morning, running out of their home. Seeing a people
crowd upon a dead body.
A male villager explains to her. "He went out of the village and wasn't able to get home last
night."
Esther's eyes widened in fear. A horrible memory resurfacing. "Another attack from the
Wolves?"
The man shakes his head. "No. If it were, this man would be injured. But upon further
inspection," as he speaks, the family of the deceased lifts the body and walks away in tears.
Upon seeing the body, Esther's body shakes. "The man looked to have been scared to death
and then turned to stone."
The body was in a state of screaming, fear forever etched on his face at whatever scared him.
"What could have done this?" Rebekah asked. Esther would have jumped from the sudden
appearance had she not still been petrified by the corpse.
The villager shakes his head. "No one knows. But many rumors have been floating around."
This caught the witches' attention. "What rumors?"
"It said that wherever that man went- deep into the forest- was a demoness." The man revealed.
"A demon?" Rebekah gasped.
"What would a demon be doing in the living world? And so close to the village?" Esther wonders
in perturbation.
The man could only shake his head in wonder. "Who knows? People have already been
spreading the news and warning others not to go too deep into the forest." With that, the man
left.
The two Mikaelson stand there in shock and wonder. Esther's eyes turn to the direction where
the body lay and then deep into the forest. Esther's mind runs wild with possibilities and. Maybe,
finally, aThat night, Esther explained to her husband of the potential demon living in the forest and the
spells that the demon could be holding.
"And you're sure about this?" Mikael asked.
"No. But there couldn't be any other being that could do such a thing. And we don't have a
choice. We have to take this chance for our kids." Esther's voice wavers.
Mikael's feet tap rapidly on the floor. He lets out a deep breath between his teeth and jerks his
head to the side. He accepts.
On the other side, Rebekah listens to her parents' conversation. Slowly and carefully, she walks
away and gets outside for some fresh air. Learning about their plan took a toll on her. She
already knew about this plan. A plan for immortality after the death of their youngest.
And to her, she wasn't opposed to such thoughts. If there was a way to keep her family safe,
she would gladly search for this book herself.
Rebekah glances back to her house, hopefully not for the last time, and goes deep into the
forest for her search.
After wandering for a while. Rebekah starts to doubt. It's not like there wasn't any proof of such
possibilities of a demon living deep in the forest. She has seen the proof. But as the sky grew
darker, she started to worry about other potential harm.
Then suddenly, something tugged her arm forcefully. Rebekah quickly fought back and tries to
shake her assaulter.
"Hey! Hey hey hey!"
Upon hearing her assaulter's voice, Rebekah opens her eyes and sees her two brothers- Klaus
and Elijah.
"What are you two doing here?!" Rebekah exclaims breathlessly, pulling her arm back from
Klaus's grip.
"You're asking us? What about you? Only a fool would go this deep into the forest at night,
especially after the warning everyone from the village gave us about a demon living here." Klaus
mocks, though his words carry worry.
Rebekah declares, "I'm here to search for the demon. solution
A strange noise came out of Elijah's mouth. "You? Search for the demon? You're a bigger fool
than we thought, dear little sister." He mocks.
Rebekah stomps her foot and walks away, and over shoulders she yells. "I'm here so mother
wouldn't have too! She and father talked about a way for us to be immortal. They think the
Demon may have the answer!"
With this info-dump on them, the two brothers catch up to their sister. "" Whoa! Slow down there.
We're coming with you then." Elijah stated.
"Why don't you calm down and explain from the beginning?" Klaus said.
After explaining the situation, the three join hands to find this book and bring it to their mother.
After a while, the atmosphere suddenly drops. Everything just seemed cold, darker than it
already was, and still about these parts of the forest. All three looked at each other and gave
nods to continue.
Klaus looks up and points at something in the sky. "Is that smoke?"
The other looked up and, indeed it was smoke. They quicken their steps. Seeing a mansion
coming to view, the two hid behind some bushes.
"We found it." Rebekah gasped, her voice hushed.
"What makes you think this is where the demon is?" Elijah questions.
"It's a mansion in the middle of nowhere in the forest, Elijah. What do you think?" Rebekah
sassed.
Elijah gives a nonchalant shrug, "a nobleman…?"
"Both of you quiet!" Klaus warns them, seeing movements from the window. The two quickly
quiet down and watch the movement.
Even from a distance, they could tell it was a really tall lady. All three held their breath.
Klaus scanned the surroundings before finding a way in. Guiding the other two, they found a
way to sneak in.
The two carefully tip-toe through the mansion until they found themselves in a room full of
books"Let's quickly find whatever that book is." Klaus said.
They quickly searched around the room. Opening every book to find anything about the book of
spells.
"Hey look at this." Rebekah calls out. Elijah and Klaus put their books down and checked the
one she's holding.
"This book mentions something about being immortal." She said, scanning through the pages.
Closing the book, she checks the cover. The front had words that were unfamiliar to them.
Then…
Tap…
Tap…
Tap…
The sound of steps from the marble floor echoes through the quiet home. The two quickly hid
themselves.
The large door opens.
Behind the door stood a beautiful demoness. She was tall, her hair dark that had a shade lighter
the further it goes down to her hair. Her clothes fitting to her frame, her body decorated with
jewelry. She also adorns a long cape that, if you look at it from a high angle, looks like a bird's
feathered tail.
The three hold their breaths.
"Hm…" Her soft hums almost echo through the room.
Walking to one part of the library, she scans through the shelves, her elegant nails tapping her
lower lip. From the other side of the shelf, hidden behind other piles of books, is where Rebekah
hid. Her hand clenching the spell book.
Not finding what she was looking for, the demoness walks to another section of the library.
Hiding under a table, Elijah clenches his fist to stop it from shaking. The demoness grabs a few
books and places them on the table with a heavy THUD! Shaking the table a little, and almost
making Elijah jump.
After placing the books on the table, the demoness searched for other books. "Something's
missing…"
Rebekah almost jumps.
The demoness looks around. "Strange… Perhaps I've misplaced it."
Klaus was able to get to the door where the demon came from. Grabbing a small object, Klaus
threw it far and quickly hid before the object fell, creating a loud noise alerting the demoness.
"Who's there!" Her voice roared, her eyes glowing red. Upon leaving the room, the three quickly
left the mansion and into the forest.
But, as they ran they didn't notice the demoness watching from the window of her mansion.
She scoffs, "Insolent fools…"
Her figure grew bigger. Her eyes glowing brighter. And her true form revealing.
The three siblings ran and ran and ran through the forest. Their feet became heavy and their
breaths ragged.
After a while, they crashed and lay on the ground. It was silent, with the only sound being their
heavy breaths and the leaves dancing with the wind.
"We have to get back quickly." Elijah said. They agreed and quickly went back to the village. It
took a while, or at least, they thought it did as the sun was rising. They didn't know how long
they were at that mansion.
"Rebekah! Elijah! Klaus!" Their mother ran outside from their house. Her face was scared and
worried.
"Where have you two been?!-" Her voice stopped as she saw what her daughter was holding.
"Where did you get that?"
"We…" Rebekah's voice trails off. "We searched for the book you were searching for."
Esther's voice came out breathlessly, "from the demon…? You went and searched for the
demon?!"
The three nodded.
"Three of you! Inside, now!" Their mother ordered and they obeyed.
They got scolded and almost beaten by their father if not for their mother breaking it. But, they
already have what they need. So, their mother read the book and, well, you all know after that…
After consuming the blood, they were killed. Rejuvenated with hunger. After being fed human
blood, they became stronger, faster, and immortal.
But then…
After drinking the blood. The room's fire was extinguished. The room is covered in darkness.
"Who dares come and steal from my home?!" A voice roars, scaring almost everyone in the
room.
Feathers fly around the room, causing many to cover themselves. From the shadows, a large
entity comes out. They were tall and beautiful. Her glowing red eyes scanned everyone in the
room.
"I wonder why mortals came and stole from me. Who knew it was for such a foolish act." The
demoness mocks.
Esther comes forward and bows her head low. "Please forgive us , Demoness Stolas! We meant
no disrespect! We only search for ways to strengthen our family from harm!" She pleads.
"Hmph! An all powerful witch from the Originals, married to such impudence and so weak. An
embarrassment!"
Esther's bodies shakes. She takes out the book and presents it to the demoness.
Stolas snatches the book, gives one last glare and leaves. But not without a last warning.
"You will one day regret your actions! Make sure to never search for me if you do!"
One morning, as Rebekah was busying herself in their house. As she bends forward, her skin
was exposed to the sun and steps back with a cry of pain. It burned. The sun burned her.
The witch Ayana was right. The spirits turned on them. Nature fought back. For every strength
there will be a weakness. With the sun now unbearable, the 4 were kept indoors for weeks until
Esther found a way for them to walk among others freely once again.
But even so, many of the villagers, who once opened their doors for them, now hid in fear upon
seeing them.
Rebekah then stops in front of the old white oak tree and touches the flowers growing there. Her
hand burned in touch, quickly pulling her hand back from the pain. And so, they burnt it to the
ground.
From the distance, watching all of this unfold. Stolas watches in glee.
"I have said it before. You were all warned once by another. Now you will all live in constant
reminder of the abominations you have chosen to become."
