The New Legacy

Vampires and Mana not all of the human population were aware that one or the other existed. But they do. Vampires existed since ancient times. Mana on the other hand had existed since the beginning of time. Mana is the spiritual power that controls all magic. Mana can be found in humans, Vampires, objects and all supernatural beings. All wielders of Mana were powerful there was no doubt about that. Mana users are capable of manipulating the elements and doing other things like heal. Some of the even more powerful Mana users could cause all kinds of phenomenon like thunderstorms, Fly, create pocket dimensions, illusions and in rare cases control time. The Founder of Vampirism was said to be capable of all this and more. The founder was the strongest of all supernatural beings. And through the ages the power of the Founder was passed down. And those Vampires were known as Legacies.

Alex’s Journey

Chapter 3

….

"My time is up…." Clara's body began to turn into ash. "There's isn't anything else I can teach you. The rest you'll have to learn as you go. I wish you luck my fellow Legacy."

Alex couldn't help but allow his tears to fall freely as his teacher continued to turn

Into ash.

"Don't…forget…your promise…" Clara said before her entire body turned into ash and she ceased to be.

Alex closed his eyes and sighed. 'Clara….I'll make preparations immediately.' He thought. However before he made any plans to leave for Texas he decided to do something about his teacher's ashes. He headed to a nearby store and picked up an urn and placed the ashes into the urn, after that he placed the urn somewhere out of the way before heading to his room to pack.

...

Alex entered his room and was gonna start packing when he saw a piece of parchment on the desk beside his bed. Letting the curiosity get the best of him he walked to the desk and grabbed the parchment which upon further inspection was an envelope seeing it had his name on it. Immediately he knew this was from Clara who else could it be?

Opening the envelop he reached inside and pulled out an envelope.

<Alex, If your reading this then I've passed from this world. These past few months have been interesting to say the least. Having my own protege and all. I'm proud to be the one whose responsible for the creation of the next Legacy. During you're training I've noticed you picked up on things very quickly. You'll do great things. I'm sure even the Five Fangs will have trouble with you. I know you said you want to keep your loved ones away from you but you may want to reconsider it, you need them and I'm sure they miss you, regardless your welcome to stay at the manor. I've actually put it in your name. It's yours now if you so wish. I've also left you all of my money as well, who else would I give it to but you? Anyways I wish you good luck >

<Yours Truly, Clara Davidson>

Alex reached inside the envelope again wondering if there was anything else inside. There was. Inside was the key to the manor as well as a debit card.

'I see. So this debit card…it was Clara's. She really left me everything huh?' He thought. Alex knew that if he didn't accept all this from her it would dishonor her memory. Even so he wanted to keep Skye and his mother away from the supernatural at least for as long as he could. He still planned to leave town.

Alex would return when the Five Fangs either weren't a threat anymore or when he was strong enough to protect them. So for now…He turned around and began to pack his bag.

…..

Houston, Texas, United States

Emily Schmidt a woman with long brown hair that flowed to the middle of her back and Hazel eyes could be seen eating dinner with her daughter who easily resembled Emily.

"Mom I know you feel that." Skylar said with a serious look on her face. Skylar was a woman of nineteen years with Long flowing brown hair exactly like her mother but unlike Emily instead of Hazel eyes they were an electric blue color.

Emily nods. "One of the Five Fangs is here in Houston." She said setting her spoon down beside her plate. "I need you to promise me something Skye."

"What is it mom?"

"If you run into him or any other Fangs you run like Hell. Your not powerful enough to take on a Fang just yet."

Skylar didn't like it but in the end she nodded. Her Mother was right. As much training she had as a sorceresses she just wouldn't be a match for a member of the Five Fangs.

Emily smiled before they resumed eating dinner. The Schmidt Family came from a long line of Sorcerers and Sorceresses, humans who were able to manipulate Mana in a variety of ways. Emily herself could take on a Fang if she really had to.

When Skylar was only seven years old her father died tragically. Apparently he was mugged coming home. Emily loved her daughter a lot and would do anything to keep the girl safe.

"Don't worry Skye. One day you'll be strong enough to overcome any challenge. You'll be able to take on the Five Fangs one day." Said Emily. "You know sparring sessions with you is becoming more and more challenging. I actually have to try now."

Skylar smiled as she ate some of her food. After dinner she helped her mother with dishes before heading off to bed.

…..

Alex could be seen aboard a plane as the aircraft traveled to Texas.

ATTENTION PASSENGERS WE HAVE TO MAKE A DETOUR. WE AREN'T STOPPING IN HOUSTON'S MAIN AIRPORT.

A bunch of the passengers looked confused and some of them even we're upset.

"How come?!"

"I paid good money to get to Houston!"

ONE OF HOUSTON'S AIRPORTS IS NOTHING BUT RUBBLE. HAS BEEN FOR A WHILE NOW.

Alex frowned. What did they mean by that

ONE OF HOUSTON'S AIRPORT HAS BEEN TAKEN OVER BY KING OF FLAMES. LIKE I SAID EARLER ITS BEEN THIS WAY FOR AWHILE NOW. ITS GONNA TAKE A BIT LONGER THAN USUAL GUYS SO JUST BARE WITH ME. HOUSTON HAS MORE THAN ONE AIRPORT.

"King of Flames?" Alex asked aloud

"The King of The Fire Dragons, Cade Jones. Surely you've heard of him."

"I thought that was just a myth. Dragons are real?" Alex asked surprised

"Very much so. I'm surprised you haven't heard of Dragons before considering many battles have been waged. There's even been a war in the past."

"I've heard of them, I just never thought they were real." Alex said

The man beside The young Vamp smiled. "If Sorcerers and even Vampires are real don't you think it's possible for Dragons to be real as well?"

"I suppose you've got a point there."

Alex was left to his own thoughts as the plane continued towards its destination.

'Dragons….who would've thought.'

After about 4 hours the plane arrived at its destination and the passengers filed out of the Airport. Alex whipped his phone out and typed in the destination provided by Clara. Alex was surprised by his close it was to his location.

After inputting the location into his phone he walked away with the intent of keeping the promise to his teacher.

…..

"Mom. Do you feel that? This Mana…it's…"

Emily nods with narrowed eyes. "A Vampire, and a powerful one as well."

"Do…you think it's a member of the Five Fangs?"

"I don't think so, Skye. I can feel the mana. It feels familiar…similar to Claire's." Emily and Skylar widened they're eyes.

"Do you think it's the new Legacy? She did always say how she was looking for someone to inherit her abilities."

"It feels that way, yes." Emily said sensing the Vampire was approaching the door. After a few minutes there was knocking on the door, she saw her daughter still had a guarded look on her face.

"Mom…."

"It's alright. If this new Legacy was chosen by Clara then he can't be like all the other vampire's." She said as she made her way towards the door. After a moment or two she opened the door revealing a young man with raven hair and green eyes.

Emily widened her eyes.
