Chp. 60 "I am awesome..."

"Cool!" the kid said as he controlled the robot to get a sword and a shield in the rack. Soon the kid controlled the robot out to the open, his arrival was noticed by the sea monsters but he was able to close the door before they swarmed him.

"What?" Bota was shocked seeing the robot carrying a tower shield and a broad sword pushing back the Sea monsters.

"The Door!" Kana said as she and Bota dashed to help the robot.

"Sis Kana! It's me Noah! I am controlling this thing in the bridge! O behind you!" the robot's speakers sounded out making Kana and Bota understand who is helping them.

They worked side by side killing sea monster by the droves, meanwhile the ones in Port Oasis were able to retreat in time as some stragglers of the horde of sea monsters found their way only to be faced with Jako's team and the fishermen.

Paul saw all of this as he fought the large crab that was now getting tons of wounds. For him, there were a few scratches but the attacks of the beast was not enough.

And since the Queen seemed to want to kill him, he thought of a way to make her mad. He looked into Skutoom and saw that like the various Sea Monsters before he experimented.

A trait that the Queen placed on many Sea Monsters, something called Oviparity. This means that some Sea Monsters will try to lay eggs once it's dead or in deaths door.

Meanwhile some have Ovoviviparous tendencies and Skutoom is one. It has dozens of fertilized eggs ready to hatch inside, meaning that if Paul controls them he can raise a group of giant crabs of his own.

He scanned the foe and looked for the ones almost ready to hatch, because Paul still has an experiment he wanted to do once he gets hands on some eggs of a Devil of the Sea.

Genod and Kentrassi are off the list since their kids are dead. Wormtooka is not on the list since it's a total nope for Paul, Kraken might be possible as well as Gordic but Bazrah seems to not act Ovoviviparous.

That thing does not have eggs as its children are produced inside its body. As Paul slashed left and right he found a few not fully developed Skutoom babies and teleported them to his underground Lab where medical robots went and placed them into cradles where they will be changed.

Paul had developed a certain Virus that only answers to his will and vastly different from the virus the Queen has. He plans to change the Virus inside of the eggs and develop that Sea monster into a different design compared to how the Queen developed hers.

But the process would take a while so Paul did not hurry, he just took very egg that was viable and left the ones unneeded. But Skutoom still felt the absence of a few eggs making it confused as to where it went.

But as it fought Paul, the thing felt the feeling of fear again. This time more prominent than the other one, this is the second being that it cannot call prey as Skutoom is being pressured.

The Queen watched at Paul who seemed to be a creature similar to those that used to live on land according to the memories she gained from the various materials she gathered.

A wolf, but this one is more reminiscent to the myths these humans used to tell. A were-wolf, a ferocious beast that was feared by many in stories.

Feeling frustrated it ordered Skutoom and the remaining Sea Monsters to retreat since there was no harm done on Rita as her plan was successful.

Now she can connect to her in times she felt lonely and wanted to feel the warm feeling Narissa felt when she held her children.

Soon the sun settled as the Sea monsters seemed to retreat as their Queen told them that there is no use in staying. She even marked Port Oasis as a black area as Paul seemed to stay in that place but she'll have her revenge later.

Skutoom retreated as well but not before Paul placed a marker on it to get more of the eggs in case the experiments failed. Paul stood there in the bottom of the sea looking at the fleeing crab.

Seeing that everybody was gone Paul jumped up and threw the chain upwards. The hook latched onto the edge of his ship and pulled himself up.

There he saw Kana and Bota with a worker robot carrying a tower Shield and a claymore. Seeing that Paul smiled at how talented the kid was, it tempted him to bring the kid under him to have a little genius to raise.

"Skutoom ran away…" Paul said as he looked at the chipped axe in his hands.

"Y-you fought him underwater…" Kana said as she looked at Paul seriously.

"Yeah, I did." Paul shrugged his shoulders and looked at the dead Sea monsters on his ship.

"Kid, go to the other console. Chose the mode (Crane), then you can control it to place the bodies on the freezer unit on front." Paul looked at a camera and said this. Noah understood and went to another console and followed Paul's orders.

Then there was a part on the front of the ship that opened and a mechanical claw came out. It then started to bring the corpses on an opened hold which Paul kept to store Sea Monster Corpses.

It is connected to a front ramp which he made so he can drop the corpses in the Trade Port docks to get some money. That he uses to buy random stuff from poor people so money would circulate and business growing.

Mostly it was just a bunch of fish and all but he just uses most as feed to the Sea Monsters he is going to be experimenting. They die most of the time as the virus seemed to be integral to their bodies but recently Paul had success in leaving a sea monster alive.

Though it weakened the thing very much after the killing the entire virus inside the body of the beast. But now Paul is focusing on experimenting on un-hatched and undeveloped eggs of Sea Monsters.

He let the kid have fun as he cleaned himself up and had Bota and Kana have a room to clean themselves as well. But Paul finished and came back to the laboratory where Ling was reading through the results of the test.

"Umm, sir. It seems that the Virus has taken root inside Rita's body as well as Brain. Her physical parameters have increased to superhuman levels and her digestive track has a significant change along with many other organ functions." Ling said as she reported to Paul.

"Good girl, here's a candy." Paul said as he patted the girls head and gave her a lollipop for her job.

"Candy?" Ling look curious about the lollipop but when Paul opened it and told her how to eat it her eyes shone at the wondrous world of sweets.

"~Yum~" Ling sat on the side with the lollipop silently as she watched Paul reread the scans.

"*Sigh* This is a real drag. Hmm?" Paul looked at the side where Teon Ma could be seen standing up and looking at the kid on the other table.

He looked confused and stunned as he saw the face of the young girl seemingly familiar.

"Oh, so you decide to wake up now huh?" Paul said and right in time Bota came in running.

"Is Rita okay?! How is she-" Bota paused as he saw the familiar face looking at him eye to eye. Kana was behind Bota as she too arrived but she was similarly stunned seeing the face of Teon Ma.

"Hmmm? You know each other or something?" Paul acted confused as he knew already how they knew each other. But he acted oblivious as he went and read the report.

"Listen Kid, the girl is fine and she still has her mind with her. But she has been changed physically by Genod when she was inside the amniotic sack. From my scans she cannot eat normal food as her stomach changed the acidity composition meaning that only raw meat can be eaten by her. And with how her muscles changed she can now lift at least two tons of load concentrated on her very skinny arms." Paul read a lot of medical jargon that only Ling could understand while Teon Ma was looking between Bota and Rita as well as listened to what Paul was talking about.

"…well that is all for her, but for you…" Paul placed down Rita's result and opened a cabinet where a thick folder was in and opened it. "…you spent four years in bed as I had spent a lot of time to regrow your limbs, Liver, one of your eyes replaced, bones reconstructed, stomach stitched and lungs regenerated. I don't know what you fought or how you still survived an explosion but it come to the fact that your disturbance atop my Ark awakened the system that had me awoken as well…" Paul's long list of Teon Ma's injuries made Kana and Bota as we as Ling Wide eyed.

"…So I owe you my thanks for being the reason I got out, but still four years I has to scavenge a lot to keep your stubborn head from dying and now that you are awake I will as for payment as I could have left you for dead after I healed you but you would not wake up so I had to keep you for three years. I had to make a robot that would clean your poop because of that since your body healed and does not need much life support other that Oxygen and Dialysis since your kidneys is still not fully redeveloped." Paul then read the procedures he did to restore Teon Ma as well as which was replaced in his body.

During this time the young Rita also woke up and was wide eyed looking at the familiar face of her father.

"DAD!?" Rita's voice pulled the people other than Ling who listened properly to Paul back to reality.

After half an hour of sobbing and crying the family of three calmed down after Paul smacked his head for making a mess out of his lab.

"Gosh, how can the three of you cry so much?" Paul looked at the floor Kana and Ling cleaning with mops.

"We're sorry…" Teon Ma and his kids said as they kneeled in guilt seeing the wet floor.

"Anyways, as I was saying. Rita is still not out of the red as the mutation is still active within her body. Her immune system which is oddly strong is still holding on keeping her sanity and from what I surmised then your mother might have been affected by the virus when she gave birth to the both of you…" Paul's words made the family shocked at how much he deduced but did not know he could read their minds.

"…Anyways, this Fish Disease as you call it helped Bota and Rita gain a form of mutation that adhered with the human genes making both of you enhanced humans. Bota has increased adaptability and could last under water longer that normal humans as his body needs less oxygen compared to the normal humans. Rita has this too but yours were pushed further by being inside the sack of Genod. Sadly I do not know how to reverse this because this is a genetic condition now for you two thanks to your mother having the disease…"

Paul's words made the people in the Room shocked as he explained the nature of the virus that could change the humans on a genetic level. So finding a cure might be impossible since these are now considered as innate abilities for the two kids.

"Anywho, you can't leave as you have a lot to pay since I hauled my body to rebuild you. Also I have to observe you after a few months to understand your situation better." Paul waved his hand making the family of three leave.

"How?" Kana was still there as Ling sat on the side eating candy.

"How what?" Paul looked confusedly at the emotionless girl.

"How were you able to do all of this? Healing Teon, Fighting Skutoom and even have animals from the past present inside your boat. How?" Kana looked seriously at Paul who also turned serious.

"You want to know?" Paul said in a serious manner as he looked at Kana up and down scanning her measurements.

"Yes." Kana frowned at the eyes of Paul but she kept a stoic face.

"It's because…" Paul said in suspense.

"…" Kana and Ling listened carefully.

"…I am awesome." Paul spoke with utmost seriousness as the tone of the room shifted to 180 where Kana seemed pissed off as a vein was about to pop off her neck.

"Fine, I know you have your secrets. But at least tell me how you defeated Skutoom and forced it to run away." Kana was dead serious about this one.

"Simple…" Paul was again speaking in suspense.

"…Because I am strong, that is all." Paul said with real seriousness this time as he seemed proud about it.

"…" Kana was now glaring at Paul as she felt that she was being toyed with.

"That's it seriously, I can't tell you anymore because I am just physically stronger than the big crab that he did not even manage to hurt me one bit." Paul just shrugged his shoulders as he saw Kana calming herself down.

"Besides, you don't need my advice because you can kill that thing all on your own already." Paul opened a nearby fridge and got some packed meals as well as a slab of Tuna meat.

"Ling, go get your brother. It seems that you two have a lot to handle yourselves, so a warm dinner should be in order. Kana follow me to the mess hall." Paul went toward the other side of the garden where the dining hall is placed then placed six packs of packed meals on a microwave so they could eat.

Paul then placed the thick slice of Tuna meat on a plate as he waited there. Soon Teon Ma and the others arrived on time that the meals were done reheating.

"Okay meals ready." Paul then gave them forks and knives as he handed them the Pack Meals. Paul gave a bigger knife and fork to Rita as he served her Tuna Meat.

"Hey why are you giving Rita raw food?" Bota said as he looked at Paul in a guarded way.

"Did you not listen to what I explained earlier? Rita's physiology is changed by the mutation of Genod, she cannot process cooked food like humans as her stomach's acidity levels were attuned to the raw unprocessed meat. This is also to prepare her so she won't go berserk if someone else bleeds near her since the virus seems to like human blood." Paul explained and started slicing Rita's food as well as feeding her.

"Maybe I should feed her." Teon said as he looked worried for his daughter, he thought about the years he missed being absent from his kids and what they had to suffer.

*Clang*

"See this?" Paul asked as he sliced his hand with a knife. "I am tougher than I look and it is best I feed her for now in case she becomes feral from the blood."

*Chomp*

"…" Paul looked at his hand where Rita can be seen biting it with her fangs while her eyes were red. Her teeth cannot pierce through his skin so she made a chewing motion.

*Nom Nom*

"Aww how cute…" Paul said as he patted Rita in the head while her eyes slowly gain semblance of herself. She looked like a small puppy biting a chew toy as she hung on Paul's hands with her mouth clenched.

"Rita! Don't bite our benefactor!" Teon was shocked at how his daughter bit Paul out of nowhere after eating a slice of tuna.

"*Nom* Sowwy…" Rita made a last chewing motion until she let go of Paul's arms.

"Now, say ahh…" Paul said as he handed another piece of meat to Rita.

"*Nom* Thissh is delishush mishter!" Rita said as she chewed on raw tuna meat.

"You should get used to this and start controlling your impulses towards Blood. Only one I'll let to feed you is Kana, your father is not yet back to his past physical state so you'll have to hold that feeling in unless you feed okay?" Paul said like a grandpa caring for the kid who looked like a puppy with a mouth full of blood.

"Okay!" Rita nodded as her mind thought that Paul was good since the guy somehow was able to bring back their father from the dead.

"Mister Demon…" Bota said but he got a smack on the head from Teon Ma.

"How dare you call benefactor a Demon?! Did I raise you to be like that kid? Did Kana not teach you anything about how to address people properly?" Teon Ma was angry at how informal his kid was addressing Paul.

"*Whistle*" Kana looked away as she felt a bit guilty, as in reality she was the one that needed to be taught how to act normal by Bota. Her forehead sweated as she thought of how many times Bota has to cover for her until she got the hang of acting weak in front of others.

Ling and Noah were happily eating their meals while Paul gave them extra desert, chocolate pudding. After the meal they were now on the Deck where they can see the Port Oasis still cleaning up.
