Just like that, I had sealed my own fate. Truly, it was a disaster. I now had to spend all of tonight with Sylvoir, and while the term 'spending time' usually meant a good thing, especially when it was with an extremely beautiful goddess like Sylvoir, but in her specific case, it was anything but.
I had played right into her hands. From the very beginning, she had anticipated that I would use some sort of excuse like this to try and cover up my previous mistake, and had already prepared countermeasures beforehand. She was a calculating fiend, even more so than I was, and she had completely outsmarted my outsmarting.
