Ellie
Spending the day with Shelby was great. It completely took Ellie’s mind off of everything that had gone on with Blade. Her best friend truly knew how to make her feel better, even if she did spend most of the day talking about Carl. Still, as they sat in the coffee shop down the street from River’s house, sipping their drinks while sitting on the patio outside. It was a nice, late fall day. The smell of the leaves, a fire somewhere in the distance, and a hint of the promise of snow in the not so distant future were all easy to detect with her shifter nose.
“So… how are things going between you and River?” Shelby asked, once she was finally done talking about Carl--for a few minutes.
“Uh… things are getting better,” Ellie said with a confident nod. “We’ve been training together. We spend a lot of time together.”
