Family vacation

The semester run smoothly and I must confess that I enjoyed my stay away from the house. and thanks to Dad's instruction mum did not bother me all through the semester. if Dad had not asked me to go back home for the semester break, I would have just stay in my apartment as I love the peace and quiet I have there.

I decided to go home on the day I was very certain Dad will be home. I was feeling very happy to see him but that house is clearly the last place I want to be. I drove down to the house and drag my bag into the living room. A maid was standing there and will not even welcome me. Anyway I can't blame her it not like any of the maids, except one treated me like I was the daughter of their boss.

I took a deep breath and tried to keep a positive face. just then Dad come down the stairs. I was surprised to see he was back so early. I had picked today and came home close to dinner time so that he could come to my rescue before his wife and daughter picked the hell out of me.

What are you doing standing there? Dad shouted at the maid who quickly told me welcome and tried to help me with my bag. I smiled and told her not to worry but Dad asked me to let her do it. So I let her and I ran to give him a hug.

He held me closer before asking, how I was doing. I am fine Dad I said to him feeling very happy. This is the best thing that could happen today. At lest my misery will have to wait till tomorrow. Go have your bath and come down for dinner he said. I nod my head happily and went upstairs.

After having my bath I stayed in my room. I knew it was best for me to wait until Dad sent for me before going to down for dinner, unless I was ready for some unpleasant complement. I heard a knock on my door and the maid opened and told me Dad sent for me to join them on the table.

I sat down beside Daniel, mother and daughter were sitting at the other side. How was the semester? Dad asked as we ate.

Fine Daniel replied simple but Danielle went on and on about how is was one of the top student in her class. She was studying a course that had to do with administration. while Daniel was studying business and administration. I am sure he is learning to become the next CEO of Wealth empire and his sister may likely become a director there or something but I honestly did not care.

You are making us so proud baby Mum said to Danielle and you too Daniel she said. I smiled to myself. I was actually among the top five students in my class, to be persice I was among the top three with only Elizabeth and Mark GPA a little higher than mine. But I have no plans of talking about it. I will just let mother and daughter have fun about this success.

I did not want either of them knowing I was having such a great time in Mount Wings. It was fine for them to think anything. Now that I think about it, I feel like I should knee and thank Mum for making sure I did not get admitted into the same university with Danielle. I would have had to deal with all her mockery and insult. So I am pretty happy that she went out of her way to unintentionally give me this peace I now enjoy.

Mount wings is the best thing that has happened to me all my life. How was your semester Bella? Dad asked me.

It was fine Dad I said smiling but making sure I did not show how happy I was. There is no telling what Mum will do, as she hate seeing me happy.

Anyway I planned a family vacation mum caught in.

I am sorry honey but you know this are the most busy times in the company. There is no way I will be able to join you for the vacation Dad said. If Dad is not going, then I better look for a reason not to go. Except I want to take a trip to hell.

Mum acted like she was angry. It fine I will just go with the kids she said. How long is this vacation Dad asked. Three weeks, I am planning that we leave in two days, mum explained and Dad nod. Bella you should get you stuff together mum said with a smile that I knew too well was fake.

Mum if we are going to be gone so long, why don't I stay and keep an eye on the shopping mall, I said. I knew better than anyone else that the house will be more comfortable than any vacation spot with Mrs. Wisdom.

After all my job in the mall was not that difficult. I get to sit in mum's office and over see the workers which will be more parfect than any stupid vacation.

You don't need to worry about that mum said I already took care of that while planning. Oh my God I thought, I do not want to go on this vacation. If Bella wants to stay back and work in the mall, I think it best after all she already knows what to do Dad said.

I was so happy he said that, I am sure he understood why I did not want to go for the vacation. And yes I already know what to do from my one year tanning, when I did not get any admission into the university.

Okay then you should also keep you eyes on the hostel Mum said. I agreed immediately fearing she may change her mind, since she enjoys the verbal torture she gives me more than anything else in the word.

Mum, I know it a family vacation but I heard the CREW are having a concert there. will you at lest let me go to the concert? it just one night Danielle said.

Sure dear, you perform very well don't worry I will get you a VIP ticket, Mum said. Dan are you interested she asked after a pause. Daniel just nodded his head.

Then I guess it Two VIP tickets Mum said and Danielle look at me as if telling me that she get to see the CREW again. She has her usually mockery looks.

Do you want to go to that concert too? Dad ask looking at me. I look at him surprise, I knew he always wanted me to feel like a part of the family but since I was not going for the vacation, how on earth was I to attend the concert.

you can always join the vacation or take a flight a day before the concert Dad explained. It okay Dad am not sure...

I know you all love this band and you might really want to go for their concert, Dad said interrupting me.

Dad it fine, I don't really want to go for the concert. Beside I get to see the CREW three times a month in Mount Wings I said. I added the last part to get at Danielle. So as I said it I turn and look at her with the side of my eyes. I could see she was supper upset. I smiled satisfied at the outcome.
