The Pocketwatch

The sun had started to set in the sky, and Ben began to make his way home. He had just finished his final exams for the semester, and was ready to begin enjoying his winter break. Not that he had plans or any events prepared, he was just happy to get a break from school and all the hassle that came with it.

As he continued to walk along the road, he began to daydream about the next few weeks. Maybe he would catch up on a few movies he missed, or maybe he'd go rock climbing with a couple friends. As he proceeded lost in thought, he tripped over something and fell to the ground. Looking up, he found Bruce Heath's ugly mug staring back at him.

Bruce was your archetypical "rich and bored kid turned bully". Eyeing Ben, he growled.

"Yo McLaren, I thought I told you to to leave Erika the fuck alone!"

"Come on Bruce, I was just passing her some papers," responded Ben, panting as he tried to get up. Erika was a school belle, meaning she was the center of attention for most guys. This obviously included Bruce, and Ben.

"Not my problem, McLaren. I swore… The fuck are you looking at?" Said Bruce, as he noticed Ben's shocked expression.

"Is that Robert Downey Jr.!?" exclaimed Ben, pointing behind the bully. Bruce whipped his head around to finally meet his idol, only to be met with a brick wall. Turning back around, he saw a hysterical Ben laughing his ass off.

"Are you fucking stupid bro? Why the fuck would RDJ come to a shithole like this town?" gasped Ben between bouts of laughter. Fuming, Bruce leaned in to deliver a punch.

"You fucking shithea…"

At that moment, Ben threw a fistful of sand into Bruce's eyes. Utilizing the moment of confusion, he immediately got up and began to sprint around corners and through fences.

20 minutes later, panting and heaving, Ben was sure he lost Bruce. However, he was also lost. As he was about to pull up the Maps app, he felt a strange tug to his left. Looking down, he saw a curious object. Half buried in the ground, there was a bronze pocket watch with a golden chain and a large crack through the center.

In a trance like state, Ben reached to pick it up. However, as he grabbed the base of the watch, he felt a sharp pain in his hand. Looking down, he noticed a shallow gash in his palm, causing a bit of blood to flow into the crack in the watch.

"Fuck, the damn thing must have been broken," he muttered, but strangely he couldn't find any sharp pieces on the timepiece. Shrugging, he pocketed the watch, opened up Google Maps, and began to walk home.

Upon arriving at the orphanage, Ben felt extremely fatigued. He could barely pull himself up to his room before fatigue overtook him, and he collapsed on his bed. The last thing he remembered before falling unconscious was a burning sensation in his palm.

A few hours, he woke up to an annoyingly loud voice in his ear. Groggily looking up he saw Erika's beautiful blue eyes staring at him.

"How many times do I have to tell you to distance yourself from me at school, Ben?" She exclaimed.

"Not this shit again. I had to pass you our quizzes from last week! It would look even more unnatural if I ignored you!" retorted Ben. This stunned Erika for a moment, but she quickly recovered and retorted.

"You could have just passed the papers back though. We both know where your eyes traveled."

Without waiting for a response, she gave Ben a shove and dashed out of the room. Watching her perky ass sway back and forth as she walked, Ben sighed in his heart. She had such a nice body. If only her personality was a little friendlier.

Checking the time, Ben realized that Natalie, the orphanage director, had probably started to serve dinner. As he got up from his bed, his vision blurred for a second. As he reoriented himself, Ben noticed a small window in his vision.

Looking at the game-like window, Ben had a revelation.

"Have I been isekai'd? Is this the legendary care package the protagonist receives?"

Pinching himself and looking around his room, Ben confirmed that he was, in fact, in his own world and had not died. He then took the next logical course of action, and attempted to press the "Info" button in his field of view. As his finger made contact with the window, a new screen popped up in his vision.

[The Hypnosis System, as implied by its name, is a system which allows the host to hypnotize certain individuals once their hypnosis meter is full. This meter can be completed by completing missions assigned to the host. These missions can be found under the "missions" tab.]

[Missions will consist of a task, a corresponding increase in hypnosis value, and occasionally an item. Upon successful completion of a mission, the change in hypnosis value can be observed in the "meters" tab, and items will be deposited in the "Items" tab]

[Once the host fills a hypnosis meter, he must use the stopwatch as a pendulum in front of the corresponding target for 30 seconds. After doing so, the target will enter a hypnotic trance, and be susceptible to suggestions for 24 hours, or until the host says the key word "RELEASE". These suggestions will stick with the target as long as the host desires].

After digesting all that information, Ben began to get excited. As he fantasized about building a harem filled with breathtaking women, he clicked on the "Missions" tab. Seeing that it was currently empty, he moved on to the "Meters" tab. On clicking it, he noticed two bars: One for Erica and one for Natalie. Excited at the implications of what these bars meant, Ben changed into loungewear and headed downstairs for dinner.
