Damon Aerendil

This young man's spotless white clothes, silver hair, and handsome elf-like look make him a role model, so to speak.

But his attitude is far from presentable, at least according to Arthur's initial impression due to his arrogant demeanor.

"Damon," Elena called out with a frown on her face, her arms crossed over her chest as she gave him a disapproving look.

"Arthur, meet my elder brother Damon. Damon, meet Arthur, a guest," she said, giving Damon a warning look to behave himself.

However, Damon ignored the warning and scrutinized Arthur from head to toe.

"Who the hell are you and what business do you have with the Aerendil?" His arrogance grew, as he assumed Arthur might be a low-level ability user based on his humble attire.

According to the common belief, high-level ability users hold high social status, so Damon saw no reason to speak politely to Arthur.

Meanwhile, Arthur looked Damon up and down before turning to Luke, asking him to lead the way.

This action shocked Luke, as he knew Damon was a level four lightning ability user - a signature ability of the Aerendil elf family.

It was also well-known that as one advances in levels, the gap in strength and skills becomes massive.

Yet here was a low-level ability user treating a high-level one like trash.

This action poked at Damon's ego, and he flared up in anger, promising himself to put Arthur in his place.

Perhaps, due to Elena being his sister, he would show some mercy and not go too far.

After all, if Elena brought him into the family, he might prove useful. Damon was aware of Elena's abilities and didn't want to jeopardize her efforts.

Sprinting forward, he closed the distance between them in an instant.

Casually, he attempted to land a resounding slap aimed at Arthur's cheeks.

To his surprise, before his hand could connect with Arthur's face, a figure appeared between them, catching hold of his hand and preventing it from moving any further.

Surprised as he was, Damon looked to see who had been bold enough to interfere and was shocked by what he saw.

It was the zombie he had ignored upon entering, believing it was too weak and slow to react even if given an order by Arthur.

Realizing who held his hand, or rather, what held his hand, his anger surged like a broken dam.

Accompanied by a blinding flash of lightning, Damon was blasted away, skipping and skidding a dozen times before crashing into a wall, leaving a human-shaped imprint in the process.

As Damon prepared to turn towards Arthur once more, he noticed the zombie getting back up.

Its face bore more disfigurement from the burn caused by the lightning blast.

A surge of flame burst forth from its feet, propelling it forward like a rocket as it charged towards Damon.

Damon's surprise grew, not only because he had failed to take out the zombie in one hit, but for something else entirely.

Zombies are known for their natural resilience; they have no emotions or reason, so they cannot feel pain or fear. Their master's orders are absolute.

This is widely known, and they are considered one of the necromancer's aces in battle, alongside other powerful minions.

What truly surprised him was the fact that this zombie was using an ability, something he had never witnessed before.

He couldn't recall Arthur giving any command or feature that would allow the zombie to engage in such a way.

While he could attribute it to telepathic commands, the use of the ability itself seemed unreal.

Curiosity began to overwhelm Damon's reasoning, causing him to lose interest in the fight.

He wanted to see and gauge the strength of this zombie compared to others he had encountered.

In an instant, Rein arrived before Damon, throwing a flaming punch at him.

Simultaneously, flames poured out of Rein's elbow, increasing the speed and strength of the punch.

Once again, Damon was astounded by this move, a clear sign that the zombie possessed some level of intelligence.

Despite the significant level gap, Damon remained unfazed. Balancing his center of gravity, he shifted his upper body sideways.

Hitting the flame fist from the side, a flare of flame blast shot into thin air from the knocked-off fist.

Not letting go of the chance, he also sent a counterattack, planting a solid knee kick on Rein's chest.

Throwing him off once again, but the latter was still resilient, regaining his balance on all three limbs like a landing cat before shooting off towards Damon for the second time.

This back and forth continued for a few minutes before Damon got bored of it, ending it all with a lightning bolt that blasted Rein to pieces.

On the other end, Elena and Arthur sighed, especially Arthur, who wanted to try out the strength of his zombie.

It's just so unfortunate he had to meet a level four ability user. Damon hadn't put any effort into this fight just now.

So, not much can be said about the little battle. It was more of Damon having fun, treating it like a toy.

Still, Arthur was able to point out a few things due to his exceptional battle awareness and experience.

If Rein were to go up against a regular level two ability user, he would fare a bit better or even hold him off well.

He sighed within himself. He really needed to get stronger at all costs.

As for Elena, she knew Damon didn't take the fight seriously, but she had a concerned look on her face when Damon destroyed the zombie.

She couldn't help but feel a bit on edge, not knowing what Arthur's reaction would be.

While she was worried, Arthur just said a few words, "Great job," turned towards Luke, and asked him to lead the way.

Damon wanted to flare up once again, but Elena stepped in, stopping him in his tracks while ordering Luke to show Arthur to his lounge.

Damon could only watch Arthur's departing figure with gritted teeth.

Once Arthur's silhouette completely faded away from sight, his stern look took a complete 360, having a rational and easy-going vibe.

Still, he was giving Elena a questioning look. "Why did you save that arrogant brat from me?"

Elena gave him a pitiful look when he said that. "I didn't save him from you. I saved you from him."

This answer amazed Damon, so he asked to confirm Arthur's level, unsure if he was a prodigy acting weak.

"How am I the one being saved when he is a level one ability user? Did you forget my level or something, or are you becoming delusional?"

Elena tried her best to answer this question without giving out too much information.

"His ability might seem weak, but he is very lethal. Make a wrong move, and you'll be to blame." Elena's voice carried a seriousness that Damon dared not challenge.

"Come, let's contact father and give him a report," Elena added after she was sure Damon understood the message clearly.

Damon felt like retorting or arguing, but he couldn't find any words to say.

Staring in the direction Arthur had left for a while, he reluctantly let it be, returning to one of the buildings Elena had gone into.

The maids quickly rushed over to clear the trash remains of the zombie and return the place to its natural look once again.

On Arthur's end, he was a bit pissed off, deep down inside him. He wanted to show that arrogant kid some manners.

He wasn't some pushover like he was a hundred years ago, wanting to live with everyone freely and happily.

Now, if someone took a pound from him, he would request a hundred in return.

Step on his feet, and he'll take your leg as compensation. But Damon happened to be Elena's brother, making it difficult to deal with him at the moment. Still, he didn't plan to let him off freely.

Soon, they arrived in a suite. Just the interiors alone were so grandeur that you would mistake it for the suite of a President back in the 2050s.

These suites had everything one needed, ranging from gadgets, utilities, accessories, just name it.

There was even a mini bar and a game station at different ends of the suite. Luke took his time to explain each of the gadgets, tech, and any other thing Arthur asked for information on, as per Elena's order.

Especially the game station, having capsules and other VR-related gadgets.
