Into the Unknown Pt. 2

Seeing the young merc pass out the commander looked awkwardly as he only intend to scare him and not make him release his bladder. He cleared his throat and continued on with his briefing as the neared closer to the planet. Goldie hooting as he found it hilarious and took the young man away to the infirmary.

"Ahem, to answer his question the reason were going is because the analyst back on Earth and Volantis have found a high fluctuation of Prime Particles from the Delfiends inhabiting the planet possibly a World Breaker. So instead of sending an S rank and initiating another globe sized battle they are sending us for recon instead. WE are to observe and report especially at signs of civilized life. Further more they are paying us 50 billion Yurons in advance and another 25 once we return. Which as you all know is not a small number. So enough yapping and listen up for the game plan."

The screen of the holo pic turned to pics of all the mercenaries in Camp Laz in to groups, each group comprised of 3 members each. Each group seems to be made of a Bearer and two Slayers. Though the groups only had three members on screen Fuego and Nicholas knew that it'd actually be four members per group if you count the Bond as a member. All except their group which only listed Nicholas and Fuego as the members.

Commander Luffy stepped from the podium and joined the mercs on the audience. He walked towards the back of the room and rested he back against a wall as he leaned. " Now form your groups of three and find seats in the room after that I'll tell you which teams are doing what." After speaking the Commander's back glowed with a bright light as Goldie turned into his spectral form as he returned Commander Luffy's Mark after dropping the young merc off.

'Such a show off' thought Fuego, it was bad enough he had to wear the Commander's Mark as an insignia on his uniform but it was even worse as he had to constantly witness his display of power. He clinched his fists in pure utter jealousy but calmed down knowing that after this expedition the would soon have his own Mark even if it was a Pseudo Mark. He dismissed his plan for the future and caught up with Nicholas and sat down in the back row as all the others were taken.

"Ugh what a drag I don't get why our team is the only team with two people in it. It's like he wants us to become Delfiend food out there. How're we supposed to survive on this new planet." grumbled Nicholas. Fuego just laughed as he relished in his friends sarcastic complaining. If anything Fuego knew that Nicholas enjoyed being in the lime light even if it was for a small portion of time.

"Oh don't worry Nicky we'll probably get the rare chance of teaming up with the commander and witnessing his awesome spectacular skills. Maybe he'll even carry us to victory without a single scratch." Fuego burst out in laughter as he teased his friend but knowing truly deep within himself he feared that situation himself. " Shut it you're just saying that in hopes that he doesn't even look your way, with your luck we'll get scout duty. They continued joking as the commander gave out the roles each team will take in this Front.

As if the universe was unanimous in sealing the dynamic duo's doom the room got eerily silent as the commander looked dead in their direction. Fuego could hear Nicholas' heart drop as the commander smiled not speaking a word. "No no nononono....noooooo. Please anything but scout Commander please! Im begging you. Hell I'll even carry all the corpses when done, just not scouting." Nicholas pleaded to Luffy as the rest of Camp Laz just Burts out in laughter shouting encouraging words but mainly just happy it was them that was picked.

Commander Luffy just smiled and walked away as Nicholas sat in his seat defeated as no one wanted to trade roles. "Oh commander Luffy I just have one thing..." Fuego addressed the Commander as he walked away causing him to stop dead in his tracks as he stared him down waiting for him to continue his sentence. "What seems to be the issue Presto?" contrary to his face the commander was patient with question due to his curious nature.

"We only have 2 members in our groups and was wondering if we were gonna get a third, especially since were doing scout?" Hearing scout just made Nicholas hate his life even more as he slumped in his seat further. Seeing this spectacle just had the other mercs shake their head while smoother just laughed.

Commander Luffy's eyes widen with agreenace as he looked though his holopic and nodded seeing that Fuego's group really only had two people. Luffy shut don't his holopic and walked away stating "You'll get the pilot then. I heard he was real green behind the ears especially with scouting. Not that's been settled get ready and gear up to drop down we'll be reaching the planet in about one hour."

"NOW GEAR UP! We have a Front to complete!" the commander yelled as his green aura blazed around him and his eyes shined brightly rousing the fight in his underlings. In grand response all their auras blazed as a symphony of color and fighting spirted dwelled within the room. Signaling them to stop the commander raised his hand quietly as all the auras died out quietly, it was as if the room never was noisy. He stepped out in to the hallway as everyone filed out to head down to the dropping bay. As everyone left only Fuego was left behind as he stared at the ceiling.

'What good is a pilot whose never done scout in their life.' Fuego grumbled as he walked out the room leaving it empty.
