MAY

Well, she can save people, sure, but she can't give the hungry food, or the homeless shelter. You know what I mean?

GWEN

Yeah... I'm not too sure how she'd do that.

MAY

The answer is, she doesn't need to. Because the people will do that. She's an inspiration for a reason. I have a friend who shares this mindset, lovely man, he also has the money to start something big.

GWEN

Wait, you're gonna to start a homeless shelter?

MAY

I'm going to try! Maybe I could even get Spider-Woman to help sponsor us.

GWEN

I think that's definitely something she could get behind!

Peter finally wakes up and comes downstairs.

MAY

About time!

PETER

What? It's only 9-

Peter looks at the clock, '11:59'.

PETER (cont'd)

Only 12.

MAY

You need a better sleep schedule, waking up midday is NOT healthy.

PETER

It's healthy to me.

Peter heads to the kitchen and snoops in the fridge. May gets up and walks over. They chat.

Gwen feels her phone vibrate underneath the blanket and takes a look. A live report of an active hostage situation.

GWEN

Oh no...

Gwen looks over at Peter and May. She stands up.

GWEN (cont'd)

Hey, my dad needs me home, I gotta get changed and go.

MAY

Oh, well, that's okay dear, can you tell me what's wrong?

GWEN

It's probably nothing, but I gotta make sure, you know?

MAY

Well, okay. It was lovely having you over dear.

Gwen rushes upstairs into Peter's room. She closes the door and slips on her suit underneath her casual clothes.

She rushes back downstairs and opens the door, when Peter grabs her hand.

PETER

Thanks for coming over, Gwen.

He kisses her.

GWEN

Thanks for having me.

MAY (O.S.)

You should be saying that to me!

GWEN

(To May)

Thanks for having me May!

MAY (O.S.)

No problem!

Gwen kisses Peter one last time before leaving.

INT./EXT. HOSTAGE BUILDING - MOMENTS LATER

Inside an office building, armed gunmen hold the workers hostage. A gunman (1) looks through the blinds to see a swarm of police and a negotiator.

The hostages shake in fear as gunmen pace around them.

Outside, Spider-Woman lands on a nearby building and webs her backpack to the wall. She surveys the area for possible entry points.

SPIDER-WOMAN

If I were a sneaky entrance, where would I hide?

She spots a vent on the side of the building and web-zips to it.

SPIDER-WOMAN (cont'd)

It's like my own private ventrance.

She opens the vent and crawls inside.

The vents are dusty and unkept, as to be expected from an unreachable place. Gwen looks through an exit and sees a gunman (1) underneath her.

Another gunman (2) looks at him from a distance before turning around. When he turns, two webs stick to the background gunman's (1) shoulders and he is pulled up into the vents. Gunman (2) turns around and is visibly confused.

In the vents, gunman (1) wriggles as he is completely webbed up, head to toe, to the vent ceiling. Spider-Woman puts her finger to her lips.

SPIDER-WOMAN (cont'd)

(Whispering)

Shh, they might hear us.

She crawls away, further into the vent system.

A male hostage sees a gunman (3) with his back turned and picks up a stapler. His colleague signals him "No" but he rushes the gunman (3) and hits him on the back of the head.

The gunman (3) slowly turns.

GUNMAN 3

Ow...

He smacks the hostage in the gut with the butt of his gun.

In the background, another gunman (4) is pulled up from the vents. The hostages' eyes light up.

GUNMAN 3 (cont'd)

What?

The gunman (3) turns around seeing nothing. He turns back to the hostages.

GUNMAN 3 (cont'd)

What?

A web comes down and sticks to his gun. In an instant, the gun is tugged up and hits him in the face, knocking him out. Another web attaches to him and he is pulled up along with the gun.

Outside, George arrives on scene and approaches the negotiator.

GEORGE

What are their terms?

NEGOTIATOR

They don't have any.

GEORGE

What? Who holds hostages with no motive?

NEGOTIATOR

I don't know, but they haven't spoken to us since we got here. Despite my best efforts.

GEORGE

Do we have anyone inside, or looking in, who do we have?

NEGOTIATOR

We have a couple snipers but we don't wanna take any shots.

GEORGE

Get me in contact with them.

The negotiator hands George a radio.

GEORGE (cont'd)

This is Captain Stacy, what's the situation?

SNIPER (O.S.)

I'm only seeing a couple guys, no hostages in sight, my guess is they've got 'em a little further in.

The sniper looks through his scope and notices a Gunman (4) drop suddenly.

SNIPER (cont'd)

You're not gonna believe this, boss, but one of them just fell.

GEORGE (O.S.)

What, does he have weak legs or something?

The gunman (4) is suddenly thrown out of the window and webbed to the wall just underneath the sniper.

SNIPER

You saw that right?

GEORGE (O.S.)

Yup.

George hands the negotiator the radio back.

GEORGE (cont'd)

I want a team in there now.

A SWAT team knocks down the door and enters one-by-one before freezing. They look in awe.

In the center of the room, dangling from the ceiling, a bundle of gunmen wrapped up like a webby pinata.

SWAT

Captain.

Outside.

GEORGE (cont'd)

Yeah?

SWAT (O.S.)

You're going to want to see this.

GEORGE

What?

Spider-Woman swings over the police. The nearby crowd cheers her on. Even some officers clap.
