In her room, Gwen tinkers with the mechanisms of the rappel devices. One test made part of the device pop, which ended up causing webs to explode everywhere. Eventually, she gets them to fire webs.

JAMESON (cont'd)

Stay intelligent people and remember, I have been J Jonah Jameson, coming to you from the Daily Bugle.

Gwen uses a sewing machine to put together a costume for herself. Using a black base, white for the torso and boots and pink for the accent colors, she is able to make her first costume. She also works on a white mask with a pink outline around the eyes.

She proudly holds up her costume, taking in every detail, even down to the webbing and spider emblem.

She finally tries the suit on. The spandex CREEKS in a satisfying way when she moves. The boots effortlessly maneuver with her foot. The gloves provide a nice fit whilst also being insulated. And finally, the mask. It hides her facial features perfectly whilst still providing her narrow jawline and a round top, able to mask any sight of hair.

After soaking it in, Gwen, now Spider-Woman, leaps out of her window and takes her first swing.

She flies through the air as the momentum carries her after every swing. People on the ground cheer as she passes them. She flips in the air and zips through narrow gaps, never losing a second of momentum.

A crowd watches on below, as Spider-Woman swings through the city, weaving in and out of cars. Among the crowd stands a tall bald man in a hoodie.

The man leaves the crowd and walks into a nearby alley. He pulls out his phone.

MAN

Hey, it's me. I found her, but I don't know about this man, do we really need her gone?

A female voice responds.

STRANGER

A jobs a job, right, Davis?

AARON

Yeah, I guess. No questions asked and all that.

AARON puts his phone between his head and shoulder while he rummages through his bag.

AARON (cont'd)

Still, doesn't seem like she'll be too much of a problem, honestly. Real amateur looking.

Aaron pulls out a gauntlet and puts it on. It glows a deep purple as it powers up.

STRANGER

It's this or I go pay your brother and nephew a visit. Would you prefer that Aaron?

Aaron growls.

AARON

No...

STRANGER

Good, then get to work. I want to know everything about this "Spider-Woman".

AARON

I'll get it done.

He hangs up the phone and stuffs it in his bag. He pulls out another gauntlet and begins to quickly change his outfit. Going from a casual hoodie and slacks to a tactical, purple and green, trench coat and armor.

He pulls down a purple mask and scales the buildings by hopping between them.

INT./EXT. SCHOOL - DAY

Gwen is stood at her locker. She turns around to see Flash bragging to his friends, showing them his phone.

FLASH (O.S.)

Look guys, she just stands for something cool, you know. She beats the bad guys and saves the little guy!

FRIEND 1 (O.S.)

You kinda changed, Flash.

FRIEND 2 (O.S.)

Yeah, suddenly you're all nice.

FLASH (O.S.)

And that's bad HOW?

Gwen laughs to herself quietly. Peter comes over to her. He is more chipper than he has been recently.

PETER

Hey Gwen!

GWEN

Pete! What's with the smile?

PETER

What, I can't smile anymore?

GWEN

Come on, I didn't say THAT... It's nice. I missed that smile.

Peter leans over and kisses Gwen on the cheek.

PETER

Been a while since I've seen you smile too, you know?

Gwen rests her head on Peter's shoulder for a second before closing her locker.

GWEN

Anyway, what's gotten you in such a good mood?

PETER

I think it's a given, really. Spider-Woman is just, kinda, great.

GWEN

Oh really?

PETER

Yeah, I mean, she's been making the place a lot safer, despite what Jonah says.

GWEN

Just don't leave me for her, you know? Sounds like you're in love.

PETER

Hey, come on. That's not fair. There's a difference between admiration and attraction.

Gwen smiles and jabs at him.

GWEN

I'm just playing with you.

Gwen walks off, Peter follows. They chat as they walk.

PETER

Hey, I was wondering...

GWEN

Another date? I'm down.

PETER

I was actually thinking if you wanted to sleep over at my place... Or your place!

Gwen pauses.

PETER

W-We don't have to if you're not comfortable yet...

GWEN

You're too cute. Sure, I'd love to. Is May okay with that?

PETER

I'm sure she will be fine…

A loud BOOM echoes through the building and students run away in the opposite direction.

GWEN

(Quietly)

Oh no...

PETER

Let's go!

Peter takes Gwen's hand and runs. Gwen stops.

GWEN

Wait, I forgot something?

PETER

Nothing's more important than your life!

GWEN

Just trust me!

Gwen runs into a nearby room.

PETER

What!?

A visible shockwave rushes through the corridor. The culprit, a man wearing a strange yellow and brown costume, stomps through the corridor, full of cracks in the walls and floor.

Spider-Woman zips through the hall and lands on the lockers.

SPIDER-WOMAN

Tell me... Why the hell did you choose to look like a yellow cushion?

VILLAIN

Funny.

He punches the air, sending out a shockwave. Spider-Woman swiftly dodges it and clings to the ceiling.

SPIDER-WOMAN

For real, though. Why? I mean, it just looks goofy, man.

VILLAIN

Could you just stop commenting on my costume choice?

He fires another shockwave. Spider-Woman dodges again.

SPIDER-WOMAN

Are you self-conscious? I'm really good at boosting self-confidence!

VILLAIN

SHUT UP!

He fires another blast, but as Spider-Woman dodges he quickly fires another, sending her crashing through a wall.

She shakes off the dust.

SPIDER-WOMAN

Oof, you're kinda good. Please, you gotta let me know, where did you get those things?

The villain walks through the hole in the wall.

VILLAIN

Made 'em myself, like 'em?

SPIDER-WOMAN

Love them. You like mine?

She fires a web at his face and zips towards him, kicking him in the chest and knocking him down.
