Without hesitation, Cain dove after him. The wind whipped past his ears as he accelerated. The dragon's eyes were wide with fear as he plummeted, knowing that the Mirage Serpent could appear at any second.
Cain reached the falling dragon just in time, blasting the Replica to pieces with a surge of scarlet flames. Grabbing the dragon by his tail, Cain heaved him upward, straining his muscles as he propelled them both back into the air.
Just as Cain saved the Ancient Dragon, the Mirage Serpent erupted from the floor beneath him. The scarlet dragon was too close to dodge; the creature's massive form loomed over him, and with a swift motion, it unleashed a devastating point-blank attack. The sound of bones shattering echoed through the air.
"Ugh!" Cain grunted as the force of the blow sent shockwaves through his body, propelling him and the serpent upward at overwhelming speed and momentum.
