The Empoyee

"How might you please me, Miss Parker?" "How would you want me, Mr. Holden?" I should stop. It was only a tease I had mindlessly put up, hoping to get a longer moment with him, listening to whatever I had to say, but apparently, he was a persistent young man, one who would get to the end of every matter started. "I'm only scared we don't speak of the same thing here" He followed. "Oh, I very much follow, Mr Holden" "Here's the thing Miss Parker" He began, figure tearing off the chair, approaching my form. I fretted at his incoming profile, eyes averted away, not daring to meet that striking gaze of his. Even in the calming space, I could feel the burn that rushed to my chest. He had soon pulled up beside my form, eyes peering on at my warded off profile. "I'd like to see how so well you think can please me" He called. "If you manage to have me forget how troublesome the morning has been, then I assure you, the position is all yours" Eyes had snapped up to him at once, gaze beholding the sincerity in those grey eyes. "Also.....He paused for a long minute, figure inching closer.....If you manage to have me aroused........ He drew even nearer, breath so close, it fanned against my neck. "I'm a wreck, Tara" I muffled into the body of the girl who had been all attentive to every of my utterance, since I stepped foot back into our apartment.

Her eyes were fixed on me, eyes portraying a look that said 'uh-huh, tell me about it'

I had soon pulled out her arms, at once gaze beholding the stains of mascara splotched here to there on her sweatshirt.

The same one she had gotten on one of our wild trips to Cali.

"I'm sorry, T" My voice was low, eyes clouded with tears, watching the black stains.

"It's alright, Jane" She sighed.

"It's probably gonna wash off"

"The bleach downstairs will do the job. But that's not the matter at hand" She called at once.

"Are you saying you happened to find your boss who you're fucking, show up at the restaurant where you were having a date with his friend?"

That's one way to put it, Tara. Being all vulgar.

"Your life's been spicy lately, Janet Parker" She pulled me even closer to her body, hands stroking my hair.

"It's alright" She let out a low breath.

"Trust me, I'd really love to say it's all gonna be fine. If that's all it'd take to put your mind at ease, and take you to a nice comforting sleep"

Her words brushed past my ears, voice low.

"But I don't know if I'd be lying to you, Jane" She followed.

"I know" I muttered into her skin.

"The worst part is, I find myself thinking of him every now and then"

She fell silent at my words, hands gently stroking my hair, and in a second she had jolted, form pulling back, with delight rushing into her gaze.

"You should let him know how you feel!" She rushed her words, with such glee held Inc her eyes, I just could tell how much excitement had gotten a hold of her.

Now, whatever was exciting about that?

"He's my boss"

Her face scrunched up at my words, eyes looking me top to bottom.

"You should have thought of that at the start of it all" Her words were flat.

"Besides—a sigh poured out my lips, body relaxing back in the seat—It's hard to understand him, T"

"I don't wanna complicate things more than they already are"

"And I swear his mother is just this close to having me thrown out the company" I let out.

"You'll only be killing yourself wallowing in feelings that itch at you every day" I heard the voice of my friend blast into my ears.

"I believe he deserves to know how you feel"

"Deserves to know?" I raised a brow at her, eyes shifting through hers.

"And for all it's worth knowing, this might only be a short period of infatuation" I made mention.

"Lust, perhaps" My words pulled her eyes up at my form, gaze lingering on me for a long moment.

"If it was lust, you wouldn't be longing for him even after you both have engaged each other"

"He's caught you, Jane" Her words were low, eyes intent in mine.

"He's caught you so well, I fear you've chosen to accept denial"

Her words hit me so hard, with my gaze following her figure as she made leave out the living room.

Those words emitted, followed after my being, lasting for as long as the night was.
