The Empoyee

"How might you please me, Miss Parker?" "How would you want me, Mr. Holden?" I should stop. It was only a tease I had mindlessly put up, hoping to get a longer moment with him, listening to whatever I had to say, but apparently, he was a persistent young man, one who would get to the end of every matter started. "I'm only scared we don't speak of the same thing here" He followed. "Oh, I very much follow, Mr Holden" "Here's the thing Miss Parker" He began, figure tearing off the chair, approaching my form. I fretted at his incoming profile, eyes averted away, not daring to meet that striking gaze of his. Even in the calming space, I could feel the burn that rushed to my chest. He had soon pulled up beside my form, eyes peering on at my warded off profile. "I'd like to see how so well you think can please me" He called. "If you manage to have me forget how troublesome the morning has been, then I assure you, the position is all yours" Eyes had snapped up to him at once, gaze beholding the sincerity in those grey eyes. "Also.....He paused for a long minute, figure inching closer.....If you manage to have me aroused........ He drew even nearer, breath so close, it fanned against my neck. "Then you, Miss Janet Parker, will be the company's new marketer to be employed" *** He is a 24 year old heir to his father's company. My eyes followed the form of Susy hurrying to the gentleman who for the past hour had been sat at that corner, with eyes shifting here to there.

But, that was no business of mine.

It wasn't in my place to judge those who chose not to interact, especially in a gathering as this.

The laughs of Susy soon came filling the air, head falling back at whatever that man said to her, that managed to get her mood lightened.

For someone new, she seemed to be doing a good a job at getting acquainted, except that fellow didn't look like someone I had come across at Holden Inc.

Perhaps he was from one of the many companies that had been invited to this event.

My eyes at once went skimming the area, taking in the figures of magnificently styled forms moving around the room, engaging in the little activities that the night brought about.

Gaze soon shifted to a figure strutting into the room, managing to snatch every attention at each corner—Adalynn.

Arms linked in a man's, a smile had crossed her red-colored lips, figure being led to a table at a far corner, by an usher.

She just was fit for such events, not to lie. Prim, proper, and better informed.

Everyone looked exquisite, drowning in the joy of the night, while the sound of glasses clinking did enough overlapping the voices emitting.

My eyes took the long table centered at the room. On that table, sat a number of figures I had grown to admire, since my time working as marketer.

Those high profiles were sat before me, and I was left with nothing, but to watch them in silence.

I could make out the form of Louis Vettriano sat amongst them, a wrinkle forming at his eyes at every second that low laugh poured out his lips.

He was exactly how the magazines portrayed him to be—Influential, Powerful, and surprisingly Sociable.

Sat at his side was the woman I had come to know as his wife—Mary Vettriano.

Such a beautiful couple to behold. The grace they held, was just enough to have anyone shuddering.

Gaze at once shifted to the figure sat before them on the other side of the table.

Of course, he was one to settle in just well amongst such company of people.

If anything, he appeared so relaxed, eyes beholding their forms, while they went on with whatever found their interest.

My gaze lingered on that profile, eyes watching how a grin would tug at his lips one second, and the next, it was gone.

The lights reflecting in the room gave a glint to that tan skin, body relaxed in the chair, his hands had reached forward grabbing the glass of wine placed before him.

I remained staring on, beholding those eyes shift to every corner of the room, and without warning, they came resting on my form.

For a second, our gazes lingered on each other, no one wanting to give in to the other and look away, but as expected my eyes chose it best to falter, avoiding his gaze.

When I had turned to have a glance at him, I noticed this time there was another figure beside him, and what got me tense, was that their gazes were directed my way, with the stranger whispering something into the ears of Mr. Holden.

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW...

Kristoffer barely found interest in all that went on around him, excluding the discussions about Holden Inc. the young man probably might have made leave hours ago, but that would be only dishonoring the people before him. The ones so kind to have invited him for such a fine gathering as this.

A low sigh escaped his lips, the instant the seat next to him was pulled out, and next came the form of Diego, sinking into the hold of that chair.

"You could have just stayed back" Kristoffer let out.

"Oh, be grateful and make merry that I even decided to show up" Diego followed in a low voice, hands reaching for the single glass before him.

"Gatherings like this are no concern of mine, Kris"

"Especially if it doesn't-

His words got held in, as eyes took in a silhouette under the chandelier lights.

Gaze peering on, the young man itched for every knowledge of who that person was.

"Hold that thought" His lips parted open, eyes beholding that form.

"Who's she?"

The eyes of Kristoffer shifted around the room, finally taking a rest on the lone figure which his friend had been so kind to point out.

There she was, gaze taking in every activity of the room.

Her fingers would go fiddling with each other, then go rubbing up and down her exposed arms, the cold of the night, taking its toll.

"She's an eye-Catcher. That one" Hands fixing the tie around his neck, he shifted in his seat, gaze still held on that comported profile at the end of the room.

"I should talk to her"

You know the evening hasn't favored me enough"

"A clumsy one, she is" Soon came the voice of Kristoffer, gaze taking in the quiet profile of Jane.

"I'm willing to have a go at her, nonetheless" Followed the voice.

"A go at her?"

"Oh, come on. You know what I mean" The young man called, and soon enough he was up his feet, proceeding to the mindless figure of Jane.
