The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 64:

I swallowed the little saliva I had left in my mouth before continuing.

"what do you want from me? What did I ever do to you?"

"I want your powers. I want everything you have. The powers of the Khamatu is basically wasted on a lowlife like yourself. You don't even know the limits of your powers. You are an unholy offspring of fear and death itself and I want it all; most importantly…I want your wings"

Wings?

What wings?

"I've lived most of my life on the ground so I can assure you that I don't have wings"

Hellen didn't say anything for a while before laughing hysterically.

"this is what I mean by being totally ignorant to the powers you have. Being half angel and demon automatically gives you wings because they have such as well. Sometimes their wings only pop up in times of extreme danger but if you learn to control them, you can summon them at will"

I never knew I had such and no one ever told me about it.

"but why would a vampire want wings? What will Cyrus say about this?"

"to be honest I never loved Cyrus. I only wanted to marry him and seize power from the kingdom and merge it with that of Bloodlake"

"why would the Demon King agree to this?"

"because he's my REAL fiancée and the one and only love of my life. We want to bring the lands together and rule it together as our great Empire but me being me, I can't do that unless I have more power…that's where you come into the story Lyra. Though you might think …why don't I take the wings of either angel or a demon?…but their wings aren't as strong as yours. Since you have never brought forth your wings before, they'll be a bit immature but they're still strong enough. They're coated with magical elements that make them stronger than most" she grinned evilly.

I was still trying to process the whole information.

"where did you learn all this from? How did you know so much about me?" the people of Noie only know about my existence because of my mother's history with their city.

But I don't think anyone else knew about who or what we were.

"have you ever wondered who killed your mother?" Hellen had an evil grin on her face.

That's a lie!

I didn't want to believe Helen had something to do with the death of my mother.

"you're lying" the words barely escaped my mouth.

"it was really easy…. she was too much of a coward to kill my men with her demonic sixth sense"

D-demonic sixth sense?

What was that?

Hellen say the confusion written over my face before she sighed and continued talking.

"for someone with such great power, you're basically useless. Since you were born of: Vampire, Demon, Werewolf, Angel, Human and Sorcerer; each of them are opposing each-others' personality. Vampire to Werewolf, Sorcerer to Human and Angels to Demons. Now, you being stronger than any other being, you have another power known as your sixth sense; where either your Angelic side takes over or your Demonic side takes over. The angelic side of you is easier to control than the demonic side. The only chance a person has in defeating you in that state is to hide and pray you don't find them"

"how does this have anything to do with my mother's death?"

"well she was about to slip into her angelic sixth sense when she was struck. If she hadn't died, I don't think you would be here; though I doubt I would have let you live either way" she laughed slightly before continuing.

"she was the one I wanted to use for all this so even if I had messed up, you would be like a fresh start but all my plans were ruined when that coward Stella Monroe took her body to safety before passing away due to how tired she was. But now that I have you, there's no room for error"

There was no form of sympathy in her eyes; they were empty and lifeless.

I took a deep breath before asking the question that would make my life a living nightmare.

"what are you going to do to me?"

Within a flash, she was in front of me and held my face in her hands.

"I will push you to your very limits and make you beg for death" she chuckled before releasing my cheeks.

"not today however. I shall save you for tomorrow" she, the guards and the old lady left my cell and slammed the doors shut.

Sam's POV:

I was all alone thinking about everything that had happened today.

After everything I had done to protect my sister and the last living family member I had, it still wasn't enough.

Having to watch her life being drained out was worse than anything I could imagine.

My little sister.

Everything I did was to save her.

To protect her.

And I've lost both ways.

I've betrayed my friends in hopes of saving another but none of them worked out properly.

How could I have been so foolish as to believe that Hellen would actually spare her and let us live.

I'm surprised that she spared my life but I don't think I want it anymore.

I was a failure and I had to do something to help else I would never forgive myself.

My life is such a pitiful mess.

A small sigh escaped my lips as I began thinking of ways to rescue Lyra from this disaster I had foolishly caused.

Then something flashed before me. It looked like a person but I hadn't seen it properly.

Maybe my mind was playing games with me.

The figure appeared again and was clearer than before.

It was a woman who glowed and she was very beautiful.

I could see a bit of Lyra in her.

"Sam…you have to get help and rescue Lyra before it's too late" her voice was barely audible as it was fading in and out.

"who are you-"

"my identity isn't important but I can tell you this…if you don't leave by tonight, Hellen is going to kill you. Go back to the city of Noie and get help. You mustn't travel all the way to Redlake to get there; ride to the mountains east, not too far from here to get help. The warriors from the Lost City that will guide you back to the castle. Tell everyone about what has happened and let them come rescue her. If she dies, we face the end of the world as we know it"

"but they might not believe me and call me a spy or something of that sort"

"you don't have a choice. Do this and redeem yourself. You have to hurry" and just like that, she vanished.

I thought about everything she said and decided it was time to take action and clear my name.

I just hope I did everything right and I would make it in time before it's too late.

I've already failed once…there's no way I'm letting it happen again.

I quietly made my way to the stables to retrieve my steed and rode as fast as I could to the mountains.

Please let me make it in time.
