The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 32:

Jackie was barely giving me enough time to take this place in.

Everything was so breath-taking.

The walls seemed to shine and there were chandeliers but they weren't shaped like the normal ones I've seen.

The floors were a rich shade of brown and the hallway seemed endless.

The difference between this and the vampires' castle is that this one was filled with life.

Everyone here looked happy and not like they would get their head chopped off by every little thing.

Jackie stopped in front of two double doors and turned to us.

"immediately you enter, you bow. Don't look at them unless they say so and don't speak unless spoken to. Got that?"

Well that had been our lives for a while now so nothing different.

Me and Sam nodded and she opened the doors.

The throne room was vast.

It was big enough to fit everyone from my village and a few horses too.

The windows were long and eliminated the room with a lot of light.

The queen and king were seated and I noticed that there were five empty chairs thus the one for the king in the middle.

"your majesties" Jackie bowed and we followed.

"Jackie…how was your patrol?" the king asked her.

"it was fine sir; though some vampire soldiers got too close to the boarders" she answered with confidence and rose to her full height.

Me and Sam stayed with our heads down.

"and why is that?"

"they were chasing after their slaves that managed to escape. There were four of them and one was captured"

"why are they only two of them?" the king didn't sound too pleased.

"one of them is resting in Rayhan's room for reasons I don't understand" she muttered the last part.

I could feel the king's gaze on me and it made me nervous.

"why did you bring them into this world?" his voice was incredibly low.

"they have the crystal sire"

There was a gasp.

"which one of them has it?"

"the girl"

"what's your name?" the queen asked me.

"L-Lyra your majesty" I didn't raise my head up neither did I move.

"raise your head…let me see you" the queens voice ordered.

She was beautiful and looking young as well as the king.

He had brown hair and a beard that wasn't that much and beautiful golden eyes.

From the little I could make out, he was built as well…a little more than his son.

The golden crown on his dark hair made him radiate power and dominance making him even more intimidating.

He wasn't overdressed.

Just in a simple white shirt and trousers.

The queen had beautiful brown hair, full lips and beautiful dark skin.

Her dress made her look elegant though she had no shoes on.

The crown atop her head radiated gentleness and kindness.

"come closer let me get a better look" I gulped in audibly.

I was trying not to stumble over my own two feet as I walked closer to the throne

I was just on the first step when I stopped and thought I had gotten close enough.

The queen studied me.

I could feel her eyes moving up and down making me even more nervous.

"could I see the crystal you brought?" she asked kindly.

I pulled out the crystal from my pockets and showed it to her.

She didn't say anything at first…she only smiled.

"rah mae jah Khamatu san aka"

(The great Khamatu has returned)

I had no idea what she had just said but I noticed the king had loosened up.

"welcome to the lost city" she got up from her throne…she was really tall.

"Jackie will show you to your rooms. You must be exhausted from your journey; rest and feel free to explore. We'll see each other during dinner…ok?"

I couldn't object her offer.

If felt nice to finally be able to rest my head without fear of getting caught or hunted down.

"you may rise boy…what's your name?" the king asked.

"it's Sam sire" he said while standing up.

"follow your friend and rest as well…you'll need it"

Me and Sam timidly walked out of the throne room and into the halls again…

Eri's POV:

There was a fuzzy feeling all over me.

Like I had been sleeping on a cloud or something of that sort.

I opened my eyes and found myself in a really soft bed with animal skin as covering.

What had happened?

The last thing I remembered was Nadia being taken away by those soldiers and we were in the woods.

How did I get here?

"I see you're finally awake" a voice said.

Slowly, I detached from the bed and became much more aware of my surroundings.

There was a warm glow from the candles giving the room a warm and fuzzy feeling.

I then noticed the person in front of me.

Though he was backing me, I could tell he was really muscular.

There were long scars on his tanned skin…some thicker than others as well as some tribal tattoos here and there.

He had them on his arms as well and I began to wonder what his face would look like.

He had the body of a warrior and a strong one at that.

"w-who are you?" I was slightly scared of the fact that I woke up in a room with a shirtless man in front of me.

"is that how you thank someone nursed you to health?" his voice was really deep.

Nursed me to health?

How long have I been here?

Where are my friends.

"thank you" I muttered.

"now tell me who you are? Turn around..."

When he did…I was in awe.

It's not like me to fall head over heels for a guy or any guy but he was different.

I felt a sudden attraction towards him not knowing why.

His brown hair and eyes were enchanting.

He had a jawline that made him look more manly.

Oddly enough, there wasn't a single scratch on his face and it was baby smooth.

"hello…Eri"

Seems like everyone is falling in love these days
