The Diamond In The Rough✔

||Book 1 of the Diamond Series|| The world had fallen into chaos a long time ago. Creatures came and enslaved the human race: Vampires, Lycans/Werewolves and Demons. They took and slaughtered thousands of innocent people. Men, Women and Children. After suffering for ten years, another set of beings came. They had enormous wings and a shining silver rings floating above their heads. Rings that could be used as a weapon if necessary. These creatures were called 'Angels'. They were kind and honestly the opposite of every supernatural creature that existed in that era. They built their kingdom protecting as many humans as they could but the dark creatures had other things planed. There was a war that broke out. Every man for themselves or more specifically, every creature for themselves. The war went on for almost 500 years. Then there was a woman. She wasn't an Angel or Vampire or Lycan or Demon. Turns out she was a hybrid of all four. More powerful than anything. No one knows for sure how this hybrid was made and at some point, no one cared. Her name was Elaka. She was seen as a priestess. Elaka was the savior of all humans. She created a boarder and the world was divided in two: The Land of Light; was so peaceful that it had to be shielded from the world. Elaka had put a protective hidden wall around the kingdom so no one would come in unless brought in by the citizens. There were humans that lived there and their lives were a paradise. And total peace. And there was the Dark land. Where every other creature lived. The three major kingdoms tolerated each other for as long as they could. Years passed without war. Until Elaka suddenly vanished. Without her, the world would become chaotic again. The crystal was lost in the forest. So many have searched for it but never succeeded. Even if they ever found it, the legend says it was set in stone. It was glued to a tree and only 'The Diamond in The Rough' could pull it out. That person was never found.

CHAPTER 33:

Lyra's POV:

After Jackie showed me my room, Sam and I decided to tour the castle.

If I thought the castle was big before, then I must have been bluffing.

The inside was gi-mongous.

There wasn't a chance we wouldn't get lost.

At this point we don't know what exactly we were looking for, but we were sure we needed someone to talk to.

"do you have any idea where you're going?" Sam asked.

"I don't know yet…let fate lead the way'

I noticed that there was a sound of people slightly grunting and metal slashing against each other.

"I wonder what's going on" I followed the sound and got to a pair of double doors and from where I stood, the sounds were a bit louder.

I pushed the doors open and was in front of something like an arena.

There was a canopy above some sections of the stairs that served as seats.

Then there was an empty portion down below where people were currently fighting.

I also took note of a cabinet that was filled with weapons of different shapes and sizes.

This entire section was quite big and it made me wonder how long it took to build this place.

"this place is quite nice…why don't we watch the sparing match?" Sam suggested while moving ahead of me and sat on the stair farthest the sparring grounds.

It was when I sat beside him that I took note of what they were wearing.

Their clothes were very skimpy and showed most of their legs and tribal tattoos, plus they were barefoot.

I honestly began to wonder how they felt comfortable wearing something like that.

"very urmm…different" Sam tried not to drool and I rolled my eyes.

I was about to respond when someone from behind placed a sword to my neck…as well as Sam.

"if you want to keep your heads, I suggest you tell me who you are" it was a girls voice.

"does everyone around here have to be so violent?" Sam whispered as beads of sweat rolled down his face.

I froze.

"Imogen…let them be…I brought them" the Jackal said.

They were both standing behind me.

"has mother seen them?"

"she has and they're special"

"what makes you say that?"

It was so pleasing to know they were having a conversation while a sword was at my neck.

I just hope the Jackal won't say anything to anger her.

"dra ka loe mer"

(I am honoured) the sword lowered, at least on my neck and not Sam's.

"hmmmmm" I felt a hand on my head and it yanked my hair to look upon the face of my attacker.

She was beautiful and looked similar to the prince.

She too had tan skin and beautiful round eyes.

"she doesn't look like the Khamatu? She looks weak and frail" Imogen stared at me for a while.

"and who's the boy? Her servant?"

"how insulting!"

"quiet you" she took the sword closer.

"not exactly her slave. Her friend; they're three of them. Your brother is with the other girl" Jackie replied

"yeah…that's Rayhan" she shook her head pitifully.

There was a small moment of silence.

"sorry for the first impression. My name is Imogen and I'm the princess" she was suddenly friendly.

"'I'm Lyra and that's Sam"

"so what brings you to the arena?" she sat between me and Sam and put her arm over my shoulder.

"well we just got here and looking for someone to talk to and show us the ropes" I nervously laughed.

"well you have me and Jackie of course"

"nope it's just you" the Jackal took a weapon and went down to the arena.

I was about to ask a question when the doors burst open and three kids came running in.

"hey what're you three doing here?" Imogen got up suddenly.

The three kids all looked the same though two of them had brown eyes and one had golden eyes and they all seem to be with the age bracket of 10-14.

"who are they?" Sam asked.

"oh they're my youngest siblings; that's Yura" she pointed to a girl with Brown eyes and black hair.

"this is Jaja" he had brown eyes as well.

"and finally Mae" the only one amongst them with her father's eyes.

"who's she?" Yura asked giving me the stink eye.

"this one doesn't look so strong" Jaja poked Sam slightly.

"this is Lyra…the Khamatu" and they suddenly looked amazed.

Everyone has been calling me that name and it's beginning to bug me.

What does that even mean?

"well she looks weak to me" Rayhan walked through the doors with Eri by his side.

"Eri thank goodness you're here. Did he harm you?" I inspected her body with worry.

She looked a bit healthier.

"no I'm fine thanks" she blushed…WAIT SHE BLUSHED?!

WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?

"well the castle is a bit full now. At least we have other people to talk to" Imogen said to Rayhan.

"I'll say" Rayhan winked at Eri and I almost gagged.

What's going on with them.

"so…urmm is there a reason why the entire royal family is gathered here? Or is it because of me?"

"don't flatter yourself hon, we're here to train" Rayhan walked over to the weapons cabinet and picked a staff.

"I'll make you pay for last time Rayhan" Jaja got a pair of twin blades.

"whoa…are they seriously going to fight?" Eri seemed just as shocked as me.

"well technically speaking it's a sparring match" Mae spoke up looking uninterested.

"even you guys? Aren't you a little too young?" I pointed out.

"not at all…you're basically old enough when you're 7" Yura smiled.

"w-won't you get injured?-"

"let them be Lyra; we know what we're doing and besides…it's fun" Imogen reassured me.

Well…let's see how this goes.

There's nothing harder than coming up with a made up language.

And even harder…an action scene; I apologize if it's not that interesting.
