Yue Ling took a deep breath, her eyes locked on Mo Jihnu's. "That's why... that's why I need to make a decision that will change my life forever."
The room fell silent, with all eyes fixed on Yue Ling. Mo Shira's heart raced with anticipation, his mind filled with doubts. What would she decide? Would she choose Mo Jihnu, or would she surprise them all?
The tension was palpable, the outcome hanging precariously in the balance.
Zhao Lifei: "So, you also love Mo Jihnu?"
Yue Ling: "Yes, and..."
Mo Lin: "It means you want to marry him, right?"
Yue Ling: "I love Mo Jihnu, but not to the point of wanting to marry him. I love him like a brother, he's very nice to me, but..."
Mo Jihnu: "What?! You love Mo Shira?!"
Yue Ling: "Yes, Mo Jihnu. I know your brother forced me to be his girlfriend, but I ended up falling in love with him too. I didn't mean to, but I did."
Mo Lin: "How can you trust him, Yue Ling? He might hurt you and dump you..."
Zhao Lifei: "Yes, child, can you cope with him? Will he not leave you?"
Yue Ling stood up and walked towards Zhao Lifei, her voice filled with conviction. "Yes, mom, I trust him completely. Our love will never let him leave me."
The room fell silent, with Mo Shira still seated, looking stunned and unable to process what he had just heard. Despite the initial shock and disbelief, the family slowly began to accept the truth, although they weren't entirely happy about it. Mo Jihnu, in particular, looked crestfallen, having never expected Yue Ling to choose his brother over him.
Mo Shira: "So this means I didn't lose my love at all. I'm really grateful to you, God. Thank you very much." He glanced at Mo Jihnu, who was smiling at him in a devilish way, as if saying, "You think you've won."
Grandpa Mo: "Now that we've all agreed to let Yue Ling and Mo Shira be together, what do you think, Mo Jihnu?"
Mo Jihnu: "Grandpa, no doubt that I really do love Yue Ling, but she's happy, and brother is also happy, so I'm happy too. At least she's still marrying into our family. That's one thing to be really happy about."
Grandpa Mo: "Good! Now that we're all on the same page, Mo Shira and Yue Ling will have their engagement party next week, at the company's twenty-year anniversary party. And after that, we'll fix the wedding date and announce it to everyone at the party..."
Mo Shira and Yue Ling's eyes widened in shock, their faces frozen in disbelief. They hadn't expected Grandpa Mo to mention a wedding so suddenly.
Yue Ling's thoughts raced: "Wedding? Engagement party? How can this be happening so fast? I'm not even sure if I'm ready for marriage yet..."
Grandpa Mo's thoughts were filled with determination: "I won't let Mo Shira play with Yue Ling's feelings. I'll make sure he commits to her fully, even if it means pushing them to get married sooner rather than later."
Mo Shira's eyes were fixed on Yue Ling, his mind reeling with excitement and a hint of fear. "Wedding? Is this really happening?"
Yue Ling's eyes met Mo Shira's, her expression mirroring his shock and uncertainty, although his had more than just shock, he was excited...
After the family's crisis was resolved, they all sat down to a delightful dinner, filled with laughter and warmth. But amidst the joy, one person's smile hid a simmering anger - Mo Jihnu. Though he appeared happy, his eyes betrayed a deep-seated frustration, a sense of injustice that threatened to boil over.
As the evening drew to a close, Mo Shira offered to drive Yue Ling home. But before leaving, she pulled Mo Jihnu aside for a private conversation.
"Brother Jihnu, I hope you're not angry with me," Yue Ling said, her voice laced with concern. "I know I should have told you the truth yesterday, but I was scared of the consequences. What if I ended up in trouble and you all started hating me?"
Mo Jihnu's expression softened, and he pulled her into a warm hug. "Shhhh, you don't need to apologize or feel bad about yourself. You did the right thing by choosing your love. And at least you're still going to be family, right?"
Yue Ling stepped back, her eyes shining with admiration. "Right, brother Jihnu. I really wish I had an elder brother like you. The bond and love between you and your brother is something I deeply admire."
Mo Shira, who had been watching the exchange, chimed in, "You should always admire it, dear. My brother loves me, and I love him too. I'll pray that God gives him a woman just like you."
Mo Jihnu smiled, his eyes filled with warmth. "Right, big bro." He hugged Mo Shira, and the three of them shared a moment of genuine connection.
As Mo Shira and Yue Ling drove away, Mo Jihnu was left alone, his smile fading into a scowl. His eyes burned with a fierce intensity, a sense of resentment that threatened to consume him. Though he had appeared to accept Yue Ling's decision, his heart seethed with anger and frustration, a feeling that would soon boil over into action.
