The morning sun rose on the village of Downwood and the streets soon became busy.
"Good morning, Downwood! We're here today with the latest news on the outskirts of Downwood! As you can see, Jim, we have been given a few reports of the 'Shadows' also known as the Descendants of the Dark, traveling up North! We may not know if the news is true, but these couple of sightings have left us wondering if the rise of the Demon King is near once more –"
Holly switched off the radio beside her bed as she slowly walked to the snoozing Jamie with a cup of coffee in her hand. She was wearing a loose long-sleeved shirt (which wasn't covering her breasts entirely) and was still in her green knickers.
"Morning, Jamie," she said, sipping the coffee in her hand.
Jamie blinked twice and wiped his eyes. "Ugh…" he wiped his eyes once again, to check if this was really his 'Reality.'
To his surprise, it was really happening and that news report was just… so accurate.
"Good morning, Holly."
He sat up in the bed, and took a deep breath. Jamie's new life was really interesting now, with his new looks and this adventuring of his. He never imagined that it would be this good to be living in a world with game elements.
"Your coffee's ready, go get your face washed." Holly sat down beside him and stared at his very… gorgeous body.
Jamie's abs were just so perfect she would rather stare at them all day long. But, Jamie had other ideas. "So nice of you," said Jamie, standing up.
Jamie got into his ragged old pants and went to Holly's bathroom to get refreshed.
He stood in front of the mirror and looked at his 'new' body. A body he never even imagined he would have in his past life.
And his hot guy face, snow-white hair, and those blue eyes just made him look even more sexier!
His abs were too good, and just by glancing at his body, any girl would 'stare' for more than 5 seconds. Now he knew what made that witch stare at him in that… weird way. Every girl in town was hitting on him, but what the hell would happen if any one of them knew who he truly was.
'Guess everyone has their flaws,' Jamie thought.
Then, he remembered something that he had forgotten for a while. The game "Rings" had the exact same way to level up a player's skills in the game, and it was pretty similar to the elements in this world.
Jamie gained many soul orbs from the battle they had the other night.
"Let's see. How should I level up my skills?"
The information flooded to him automatically when he said this.
[To level up your skills, you must use souls, enchantments, or enchanted items.
Beta soul: Adds 1 point
Rare soul: Adds 5 points
Magic Soul: Adds 50 points
Legendary Soul: Adds 100 points]
'Guess knowing these details is like the nature of this game system.' Jamie guessed.
"Show me the status screen," he said.

[To level up, you need to increase your stats!]
"Oh? That's how you level up… quite easy."
Jamie went and leveled up the stats that weren't already leveled to their max and a new message appeared.
<You have leveled up to the next stage! You are now level 2!>
Finally, he was level two. However, he had no idea how he had enough strength to rip that wolf in halves because his level was... very low. The mysteries left to uncover were countless, and he was still figuring out the world. He knew it would take time to process it, and truly figure out the true destiny of the Demon King.
However, Jamie didn't know one thing yet. Slowly, the world which he thought was just a replica of a game, was finally doing something 'real' to him. The world around him didn't feel like a 'game' anymore, but... Jamie still could not see the difference.
For now, his greatest achievements were leveling up and losing his virginity, finally.
After taking a shower from the barmaid's house, which she asked him to do, he went into her living room. There was a large tv in the living room and a nice couch. Holly was sitting on the couch, tying up her hair with a band.
"Holly, thanks for the help, I really appreciate it," Jamie said, sitting at the dining table and taking the cup of coffee into his hand.
"Aw, Jamie. No worries. I don't even care if you move in with me," the woman smirked at him.
Jamie took a sip from the coffee, blinking because he was slightly frightened. 'Of course not. You sure don't want to marry a Demon King and get your life ruined… Holly.'
"We'll... see," said Jamie, awkwardly.
"So, you have plans for what you're going to do, Jamie? I mean… you need a plan, don't you? And training, since you're still a [Level 1]."
"True that…" Jamie said. 'Not [Level 1] anymore though.'
Then, he wondered a bit about his next step.
However, with his current situation, he needed to make money, and find a good place and a good reputation in the city. This demon species had [Human] as the name of their species appearing on the other's systems for a reason. Jamie needed to find out why, and what the demons are in this world.
And looking at the elements of the world, he knew that this was very close to Modern Society, except for some word preferences that hadn't died from the old ages (like Lodgings) and cultural aspects that still had an effect. But… sure as hell, this world of Kaden was large.
"Hmm? So, what is your plan?"
Jamie narrowed his eyes and wondered, and got the perfect solution for this matter.
"I…. I was dreaming about Demons yesterday, about some demon king…"
He remembered the fallen skeletons as he continued to lie to Holly. "...and there were these dead men around him. I was carrying this very sword and the men were all dead, except me. I think I was… a demon hunter or something?"
He didn't word out that last part very well.
"Demons? Demon hunter… so you're telling me you were a demon hunter in your past life?"
The barmaid actually bought it!
"I don't know for sure, but… that's my guess."
