Kikyo lowered her bow and arrow. She recognized the name fairly quickly in a realization of this person standing in front of her," Are you little Koto?" She questioned.

It raised a lot of red flags.

Kotori desperately took a step forward," Do you know who I am? My mother erased my memories and I'm not able to recall anything from the past."

It was a moment of silence before the young priestess spoke again." Before I met my demises, I traveled with my instructor throughout the land. I admired him very much so. He raised me and my little sister Kadea for some time after my parents died in the war. He taught me everything that I know. He was a man of wisdom and trusted me to carry his legacy to look after the sacred jewel. I was delighted to have been offered such a role and did not hesitate. I noticed that he became very recent and withheld information about his whereabouts. He would dodge questions about his personal life until one day, I discovered him tending to a pregnant demon in a cave. It was quite a sight. That man was your father, Kotori and he was deeply smitten by your mother. At the time, I didn't understand why he would be with a yokai but that wasn't until I met InuYasha that my perspective changed." She looked at the half-demon in front of her, Kotori had her own style but still resembled both of her parents.

" That doesn't tell me anything about myself or who I am." Kotori signed and was faced with disappointment. Hearing about her parent's past for the first time would probably make her happier under different circumstances. Right now, she's battling a personality crisis.

" If it makes you feel better, they were happy for your arrival," Kikyo spoke.

It's rare for a half-demon to inherit spiritual powers with corrupted blood, especially from a great demon.

"Lady Kikyo. Please take me to my Mother and Father!" She asked desperately. After a few seconds, Kotori lowered her eyes and there was a painful ache in her heart. She remembered the words of the little girl that echoed in her head.

Do not chase after the past! Live for the future, and find love and happiness. Be young and stupid or everything Mama did was for nothing. You must not give up and make your dream come true. A place where half-breeds, demons, and humans can live in harmony.

Kikyo was fascinated by the half-demon spiritual abilities and certain patterns reminded her of her old instructor." How about training under me for a while? I see your expression changed. I will give you a few days to think about it."

She clenched her fist and looked away," No thank you, Lady Kikyo. I do not want to wield anything with these hands that killed so many innocent people. I even hurt the person that I care deeply about. I will take my chances on my own, I been alone my whole life anyways."

"Kotori…" InuYasha turned his head from Kikyo and looked at Kotori.

Kagome could not help but see his expression.

" I will tell you more about your father."

" Lady Kikyo, my answer still remains the same but thank you for the offer." Kotori softly spoke with a sincere smile. She looked at InuYasha standing beside the priestess. It was this strange feeling coming from her chest as her heartbeat in agony. She happened to glance past them and saw her companions that she once traveled with and believed in the term 'friends'

As much as she despite demons, she took a liking to the adorable fox demon. His little body was shivering at the mere sight of her and his eyes widened as if she just saw a monster.

The others dare not to approach her.

That is when she knew. There is no place for her.

"Goodbye, everyone."

She begins walking down the dirt path.

The fox demon chased after her and shouted.," KO, I MISS YOU! I DID NOT BELIEVE ONE SECOND THAT YOU WERE EVIL! YOU ARE THE KINDEST PERSON IN THE WORLD AND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH. PLEASE DON'T LEAVE US! DON'T LEAVE ME ALL ALONE WITH THESE IDIOTS!"

She paused her footsteps and turned around towards the shouting voice. The fox demon jumped in her arms with tears streaming down his face.

"How could I possibly say no when you're crying like this?" She cuddled him closely.

She yearned for those words for a very long time.

" Who the hell are you calling a idiot!" InuYasha said angrily and punched the fox demon in the head.

" Oww," Shippo complained. " I didn't even do anything to you! KKAAGGGOMEEEE"

" SIT BOT!" Kagome said.

The necklace of his neck glowed purple then InuYasha's face-planted onto the ground.

Everyone laughed beside the priestess.

" Um… Is it okay for me to come back?" Kotori asked.

" You are like family, Ko." Sango said putting her hand on her hip." Us girls must stick together."

" I have a brother but never had a sister," Kagome spoke.

Miroku scratched the back of his head and sweated," It would be a delight to have you back."

A FEW HOURS LATER.

It was a beautiful starry night.

The crispy sound of the firewood crackling keeps us warm.

Kotori opened her eyes and noticed almost everyone was fast asleep. Sitting together near the fireplace was InuYasha and Kikyo having a serious conversation. However, Kotori could not keep herself awake long enough to eavesdrop. She had no stamina and was injured pretty severely.

" InuYasha, why do you even linger around that half-demon?" Kikyo questioned.

" Because!" He felt insulted and stood up abruptly.

" InuYasha, I'm just saying you should be careful around that woman her powers are unstable and can seriously hurt someone close." She warned.

He leaned his back against the tree and closed his eyes.
