"That was a really nice dinner," Clara commented after she and Edgar walked hand in hand toward the guest chamber that they would occupy together until their wedding day. She added, "I really like your family. They are funny and warm."
Edgar smiled and heaved a sigh of relief. It went well, he thought. Even though he was embarrassed by his mother's blatant request for grandbabies, but he was glad Clara could take everything in stride. She was truly the best woman ever!
His love for her became deeper and deeper.
"And they adore you," he said. His eyes were filled with a playful glint. "Especially after you told them we will work hard to give them babies... Ahem."
Clara chuckled and then started laughing sheepishly at the mention of babies again. She covered her mouth with the back of her hand when she laughed. "Ahahaha... I was just telling the truth."
