Getting Ready

Auralia stared at her bedroom ceiling wondering how she was going to help Madison. She already had a few ideas but it was hard to decide what to do considering how badly the girls had treated her cousin.

Auralia wanted to pick something that would get her cousin the revenge she wanted without Madison getting any backlash later on. Something that would teach those girls a lesson to never hurt anyone again.

"How do those romance characters do it?" Auralia muttered to herself as she turned on her side to stare at her window. "They make face slapping look so easy…"

The sun was rising outside, streaks of sunlight coming through the linen curtains, reminding Auralia that she needed to get up. Her date was happening today and Madison would be helping her get ready.

Bang!

Auralia turned around to see her cousin slamming the bedroom door open and hurrying in with a bag, right as Auralia thought of her.

Speak of the devil and it will appear. Auralia thought, smiling.

Her cousin however was not amused with her still lazing around in bed. Madison hurried over to the bed, having dumped the bag on a chair, and quickly ripping the duvet covers off Auralia.

"Come on, Auralia!" Her cousin exclaimed. "There's no time to waste sleeping. We have a lot to do."

Auralia sat up, stretching lazily. "Alright, I'm getting up. No need to rush…"

Auralia looked at her clock on the nightstand to check the time. The digital numbers showed that it was only 6am.

"We have three hours." Auralia said, pointing at her clock to prove her point.

Madison nodded. "Yes I know! It's why we need to get moving. There's a lot to do."

Auralia looked at Madison confused. "Getting ready should take one hour. Two hours at most."

Madison rolled her eyes. "Yeah, if this was a normal date. But you're going out with one of the hottest men alive. You need to look as equally as dazzling. Otherwise those media vultures are going to pick you apart."

"I see…"

Sometimes Auralia forgot that Alexander was a popular actor and had a huge fan-base. So, of course the media would be after any juicy stories. They would use anything to sell more of their tabloids.

"Auralia!" Madison called out, bringing Auralia out of her thoughts.

"Sorry, I'm moving." Auralia sighed, standing up.

Madison smiled, handing her a bunch of bottles she had gotten from the bag. "Good. Now go shower while I send someone to get you breakfast."

Auralia nodded, quickly heading to the bathroom. She placed the bottles on the counter before switching on the shower. She then removed her nightgown before picking up the bottles.

She saw one was a body wash while the others were a shampoo and conditioner. All three seemed be a fancy brand and have an orange scent to them.

It wasn't what she normally used but she decided there was a reason Madison had handed them to her. Shaking her head, Auralia entered the shower and began washing her hair.

About forty minutes later, Auralia walked out of the bathroom, a towel around her body. She spotted Madison sitting at her desk munching on toast and looking at something on her phone.

"Ahem…" Auralia coughed as she swiped a piece of bacon from a breakfast tray sitting on her table.

Madison looked up and smiled sheepishly as she put her phone away. "Sorry, was talking to a friend."

"So much for rushing." Auralia teased as she took Madison's spot. "So, who's the friend? Anyone I know?"

Madison grabbed the blow dryer she had set up earlier. "It's no one."

Auralia had a sneaking suspicion that there was more to the story but decided to let it be. Her cousin would tell her when she was ready.

"Alright…I'll leave it." Auralia said before changing the subject, "Are you just going to blow dry?"

"Yip. I think your naturally wavy hair will look better than straightening it." Madison explained. "Of course, I'm still going to style it a little."

Auralia nodded and Madison turned the blow dryer on, getting to work on Auralia's hair as Auralia ate breakfast.

A few minutes later, Auralia was finished with breakfast and Madison had finished up with her hair. Auralia then quickly went to the bathroom to wash her face and brush her teeth so the two could do her makeup.

Upon seeing the makeup lying on the desk, Auralia realized that Madison seemed to be going for a natural look which made her happy. Auralia liked makeup but it made her face feel weird if she wore too much of it.

Auralia quickly went to her closet and brought out the outfit Madison and her had picked out before the whole drama with the bullies.

"Madison, this is what you were talking about?" Auralia asked as she held out the clothes for Madison to see.

Madison nodded. "Yip, it's those. Your jewelry is in that box right?"

"Yeah, you can pick out what you want while I go and change."

Auralia then headed to the bathroom to put on the purple blouse and ripped jeans. When she came back from the bathroom, she found Madison packing away some of the jewelry.

"You find what you're looking for?" Auralia asked as she sat down at her desk.

"Yeah…This is the one you should wear." Madison said, holding out a silver chain with a purple heart in the center.

She helped Auralia put on the necklace before helping her with makeup. Auralia then grabbed her black boots while Madison went to her closet.

A few minutes later, Madison appeared with a black, clutch purse in her hands. She went to the bag she had brought early and began placing things into it.

"Some makeup for touch ups, wet wipes, tissues, a hand mirror…" Madison said as she placed each item into the purse. "Oh and this…"

She held out a folded piece of paper. "This is an important list of popular couple spots near the art gallery."

Madison smiled knowingly at Auralia before placing the list into the purse. "Now all you need is your wallet, keys, phone and the tickets."

Auralia nodded at her cousin, getting up from the bed to fetch the things her cousin had listed. She was a little surprised with how prepared her cousin was. It was as if Madison was more excited for the date than Auralia was.

She probably is… Auralia thought to herself. Probably more excited than me.

Auralia felt a little guilty, but her cousin didn't give her a moment to worry about as she sprayed Auralia with a citrus perfume, making Auralia's thoughts disappear with a cough.

Madison then took a step back to look at her work, grinning madly. "Alright everything is done. Now just have the time of your life and show the world you two were meant to be!"
