Ayla went in the opposite direction as her tears were still flowing. She doesn't know why she has so much sympathy for the queen reagent of Egothedia. She kept her head down and bumped into someone.

"I'm sorry!" She said as she did not bother looking at the man's face.

She was about to go, but he grabbed her and held her shoulders.

"What's wrong?" He asked as he was looking at her. She slowly lifted her head, and he saw her eyes filled with tears.

"Your Majesty," She said as she quickly wiped her tears.

"No need to do that. What happened? Tell me," Luke said.

"I just felt like my heart was tearing down to pieces as soon as I saw a stranger crying." She said as she tried to calm herself down.

"Well then, you are sympathetic towards that person," Luke said as he comforted her.

"How come your timing is so good?" She asked him as she looked at his eyes.

"I am not your friend if I am not there to console you," He said as he took the lamp from her grasp.

"I can do that," She said as she was about to take it back.

"It's okay; your foot is injured," He said.

"Yes, my foot is injured, but my hand is not," Ayla said, which caught the King off guard.

"Lady Ayla~" Louis called as he ran towards her.

"What are you doing outside without a maid or guard? You should be sleeping by now," Ayla said as she sat down to match his height.

"About that~ I am getting nightmares, and no one wants to accompany me," Louis said as he grabbed her hand.

"Even your maids can't keep guard on you?" She asked.

"I can't find my maids anywhere; my mother is not in her chambers, and my brothers are nowhere to be seen. You are the first person I saw," Louis said as Ayla looked at King Luke.

"Can King Luke join us, though?" Ayla asked him.

"I can't trust him," Louis said as he glared at the King.

"Then I will wait for Ayla outside your chambers," King Luke said as he kept his distance from Ayla and Louis.

Louis pokes Ayla, and she bends down a little.

"Who is that guy?" Louis asked as he held Ayla's hand.

"Oh! King Luke is a friend of mine," Ayla said as she smiled at him.

"Are you going to accept his proposal to be his wife?" Louis asked him again.

"You're just a little kid, but you know many things like this," She replied, destroying his fixed hair.

They went into Louis' chambers; she let him go and lay down first.

"Can you stay until I fall asleep?" He asked as he tapped the vacant space beside him.

"Of course! Whatever you like," She said as she took a seat and put it beside his bed.

Louis moves closer to her and tucks his hands on the blanket.

"Can you sing me a song? It helps me sleep better and might scare the nightmares away," Louis told her, making Ayla smile.

"Hmmm... I can't sing you a song, but I can play you a song using a lute." She cheered as she searched for a lute and gladly found one.

"This is a song my father always plays when he puts me to sleep and goes to war in the morning. He called it "In dreams" " she said as she started plucking the strings.

"I didn't know you knew how to play the instruments," Louis said as he started yawning in just a few minutes.

"Playing this song again makes me miss my parents; there's a lot of memories that they gave me even though I am not their real child." She thought of that as she sincerely played the instrument for the young child.

She stopped playing when he saw him in a deep and nice sleep. She returned the lute to its original place and returned to fix Louise's position.

"Sleep tight, little one," She said as she caressed his hair.

Surprisingly, she saw Alexander sleeping on the young boy's study table.

"When did he come here without notice?" she asked as she moved closer.

She looked around Louise's room for an extra blanket and found one. Ayla moved closer to Alexander and slowly placed the blanket on him. After placing the blanket, she took the chair and put it in front of him.

She slowly sat down, and she looked at him sleeping. The longer she looks, the more her heart beats faster. She slowly put her point finger to his face, but she just poked his natural wavy hair, and as soon as she realized what she was doing, she immediately took her hand back.

"I remember the first time we met," She said as she smiled at him.

She really admired his pointy nose and thin but kissable lips. She was out of her mind when she traced his nose with her point finger and slid down to his lips. She also noticed his long eyelashes and was about to touch them but stopped. She crosses her arms and lies down on the table. She didn't see the time but fell asleep close to him.

She did not know that he was pretending to sleep for her just to pass him by, but she even put a blanket on him in his shock. The most shocking she did was trace his nose down to his lips, making his cheeks hotter. He closed his eyes the whole time, and when he realized that she had already fallen asleep, he opened his eyes and admired his excellent view of her.

Alexander was passing by Louis' halls because the guards told him that Louis was looking for him, but when he opened the door, he saw Ayla playing a beautiful song in the lute. That's why he notified Louis to keep quiet, and he slowly sat at the table to watch her play.

He was amazed at how the girl played the instrument so well, but it soothed his mind from thinking a lot. As soon as she finished, he pretended to sleep. While she traced every inch of his face, he could feel his face getting hotter.

As soon as she fell asleep, he slowly stood up so as not to wake her. He took the blanket she gave him and placed it on her.

He was about to leave the room, but when he saw that Ayla might be uncomfortable, he went back and fixed the chair so that a person could fit it. He went to her and slowly carried her bridal style.

"I don't want to get married, Mother," She murmured, making Alexander smile for a reason. Now he knows why she ran away from home the time they met.
