Chapter 13

Abel had his own designated parking spot. Beside his spot there was the handicap parking on the left and on the right was a big black hummer. Then a dividing space that a nice curb going around it and a pretty little tree. Then another six parking spaces and another divider then six more parking spaces. This went all the way down and around the parking lot. The parking lot was huge too, with nearly half of the parking filled.

The building itself was huge as well. It was a brick, four to five story tall building. It looked like it used to be a mall. As Abel pulled into his parking spot, he was telling me some about this building and the layout. "There are four parking areas around our factory. One on either end, one in back and this one in the front of the building. Our space is here in front. I am going to have them write your name on the space next to mine in a few days. Right now though, I rather enjoy driving you around. We bought this old building from the government for a steal. They were going to make it into a office building slash mechanic shop and hanger. But then the government found that they could buy the property around Tinker air force base. That was when my pop bid and won this building and properties. It is very beneficial. The forest is just behind the back parking lot. A lot of our hunters come in through the back gate to bring in that nights haul. Then we have meat processing, pelt tanning, and everything else in the warehouse on the entire bottom floor. The top two stories are all customer service, sales, advertising, and business offices for the company. My office is in the upmost right hand corner of the building. You will see as we go up."

I was so busy staring at the building, and listening to him and his explanation of the layout, that I did not notice when he got out of the car. He walked around and opened my door, putting his hand out to help me up. I was shaking as I took his hand. He leaned down and gently kissed the back of my hand. Then pulled me along with him towards the building.

I felt so nervous. I could barely speak. The closer we got to the building the more I felt like pulling my hand back and running the opposite direction. I finally did pull back on my hand. Just enough to slow us down. We were about half way across the driveway to the main building.

He turned to look at me, "What is the problem?"

I began cracking my knuckles on my other hand. "I don't feel right."

He turned toward me, "Tell me what's the matter."

I shook my head, "I don't want to go in there. I feel nervous. No anxious! I was excited about coming here this morning. I was a little nervous. But right now, I don't know why, but I almost feel like I am in danger."

He hugged me to him, and talked in a soothing tone. "Sweetheart! I am here. I will not let anything harm you. You are my mate. We will just have to keep our eyes open. That's all! I am glad your alert."

I shook my head. "You don't understand Abel. There is something wrong! I feel wrong!" I scanned the building from end to end. That is as much of it as I could. Then it hit me. There were three men pushing a red van with no back windows. The back of the van looked like swiss cheese. It could not have been the one dad shot at. That van was white. I was shaking as I somewhat pointed towards the van.

Abel turned and saw it. He pulled out his phone and called someone he called Thomas. "Thomas, get down here now. We have a problem." "What?" "Oh, right, sorry! We are in the parking lot in front of my spot. I am putting her back into my car right now as we speak." "No! We are not coming in the building." "She had a bad feeling and could not go inside." "I did! Then she saw why she was feeling that way. She had every right to man." "Get down here! I am getting her out of here." He hung up the phone.

He rushed me back over to his car and opened the door for me. There was a large black hummer sitting next to his car. It was been there before we got here. But we had both ignored the vehicle. As I was stepping into the car, I heard a noise that sounded like a hollow melon being knocked open. Abel fell down beside the car unconscious. I yelled out, "ABEL!"

Just then there was a troop of men running out of the building. All really tall (just like Abel), all wearing business suits and sunglasses. I heard them yelling something but I could not make out what they were saying. I was to busy trying to check on Abel. I was not allowed to do more than a quick look though. The man that had hit him, dropped a crowbar and picked me up like a rag doll. He cradled me under his arm like a football and took off running. He threw me in the back of the hummer and yelled to the driver to take off.

The driver spun the tires backing out and hit the car just behind us. Then he flipped it into drive and left tread behind as we spun out leaving the parking lot. The hummer clipped one of the guards as we passed the check gate. We jumped the hill at the entrance and almost flipped as we took off down the road getting onto the highway.

During the whole thing I had been yelling, "ABEL, ABEL, ABEL!" I was fighting with the kidnapper in the back of the hummer too. That is until two guys from the seats in front jumped to the back and held me down. They taped my wrists, and ankles together. I bit one of the men so they put tape over my mouth as well. When I headbutted one of them, I broke his sunglasses. He headbutted me back and everything went black.

Abel on the other hand was rushed by ambulance to the hospital. They had knocked his skull open. If they had hit him any harder he would not have made it. He was taking to a special werewolf hospital that was disguised as a veterinary clinic. When he came back around from the knock out, he was livid. Not only did his men not give chase, they swear that the hummer that had left the scene had been there for days and no one had checked it out.

The doctor told him, as soon as he could transform again, he would be free to leave the hospital. The doctor did not think he would be able to for several days though. Abel proved him wrong. The doctor was not even able to finish his sentence before Abel had stood up as a werewolf. Transforming had a healing power of its own. But it takes a lot out of you. As soon as he had transformed, he collapsed again. He was completely healed now, but he also had no energy left.

Thomas was there as his beta. Thomas is a tall, muscular, blond haired, blue eyed man. He is slightly shorter than Abel, but everyone thought they were brothers. They just looked that much alike. As his adopted brother he was there at the hospital helping Abel. He helped Abel back in his bed. Thomas promised Abel, "We will get her back. I am going to track them down myself."

Abel put his hand up, and Thomas grabbed it in their handshake. Abel spoke calmly but deadly, "If you do not find them by morning, I will join the hunt. They had better pray you find them and not me. I have no intention on killing them Thomas. I want a good work out. Please bring them to me alive." Thomas shook his head turned and walked out of the hospital. He was officially on a dead man's hunt.

Authors notes:

What a first day on the job! What would you have done in the same situation? Some people would have gone on in the building and told that little voice to shut up. Some would never have even made it past the gate. Could it have been worse if they had just gone on into the building. Keep reading to find out more.
