"Sybil. You look so beautiful." My Father said as he tucked a loose strand of hair behind my ear.
He was looking at my white wedding dress. "Your mother would be so proud of you."
My stomach made a knot when he mentioned mother.
"What are you doing here? You should be getting ready." He said.
I shook my head. "Dad, this is a mistake. Ryan rejected me. I don't want to marry him. I don't love him anymore."
"Sybil, this is for the best." He said. "You're going to look back on this and be grateful that I made this decision for you."
"No Dad! Don't you get it?! Ryan cheated on me! He rejected me! And today I am getting married to him? Over my mother's grave will I do it!" I said in frustration.
"Don't! Don't you dare involve your mother in this!" He warned me. "You do not have a say in this matter. You ran away three years ago and came back with no memories. Do you know what the other high-ranking wolves say about us? No one wants you. No one! But Ryan and his family came up to ask for your hand in marriage. You should be grateful!"
My mouth dropped, shocked at his words.
He realized what he had said, only to sigh. "Sybil, there is no going back on this decision. You are getting married today. Just like you always wanted."
"I'm not that little girl anymore," I complained.
Every she-wolf dreamt of the day her mate would sweep her off her feet and say the wolf vows in front of her family and friends and declare her his for life.
But I, Sybil Auclair, is this close to running away from my pack on my very own wedding day.
I'm getting married to Ryan Towers, the future Alpha of the Blue Sea pack.
Top three of the founding twelve packs.
He was the dream mate of every she-wolf my age. He was handsome, intelligent, and charming.
Did I also mention the fact that he was my mate?
It sounds confusing, I know.
Ryan and I had always been an item since we were teenagers and when I clocked eighteen and it was time for me to shift, it was a disaster.
I shifted into a crippled wolf. My wolf's foreleg were bent and broken. The hind legs were equally as bad; only one leg was normal.
I could not run well and I was ugly.
It was an abomination. If I was an unshifted wolf it would have been better.
You see the thing is, I am from an extinct wolf bloodline called the Fenrir.
We are direct descendants of the goddess Selene.
My mother was the last surviving member of her clan.
And then she had me, but my mother died when I was six.
I was now the only surviving Fenrir wolf on the entire earth.
Seeing that I had no special powers and turned into a crippled wolf was a shock.
Ryan, who had promised to be with me forever, rejected me right after I caught him sleeping with another she-wolf.
Heartbroken and distraught I ran away from the pack.
The only thing I can remember after that was staggering up to our pack grounds and passing out.
When I came to, I discovered that I had been missing for three whole years.
There was a gap from the moment I ran away from our pack and when I returned.
I was now twenty and I had zero memory of what had happened.
After a few months, my father told me that Ryan wanted to marry me.
I wasn't allowed to say anything. Not until today, as I stand here in a wedding dress outside my father's door.
Before I could protest further, Ryan came up to us.
He was in a formal suit and smelled like overwhelming musky cologne.
Three years ago, I would have thought he smelled like heaven.
Now I was just overwhelmed and in disgust.
"Sybil." He said gazing at me all over like a hungry wolf. "You look….. beautiful."
"I will give you two a moment." My father said and disappeared.
I had no intention of speaking to him so I started to leave when he caught my arm.
"Sybil." He said.
I glared at him. hHe quickly withdrew his hand.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"Sorry for what? Grabbing my arm or fucking one of my friends or rejecting me in front of everyone at the ball?" I demanded.
"Everything," He said. "I was wrong. If I could take back all of the hurt I have caused you in the past I would."
I laughed bitterly, "Don't we all?"
He crossed his brows. "You've changed Sybil."
"You mean I am not the same weak and innocent girl you used to mess with right?" I shot at him.
He sighed heavily and then he took my hands gently in his.
"I am sorry for the pain that I caused you. If I can take it all back I would, in a heartbeat. I was young and stupid. I'm different now, and I want to fix it. I don't care if you are crippled. I want to be with you for life." He said.
I just stared at him.
"I know that you hate me. But I promise, I will never hurt you ever again," He said.

"And do you, Sybil Auclair, daughter of Alpha Jamie Auclair and late Luna Wendy Auclair, take Ryan Towers, son of Alpha Erwin Towers and Luna Carol Towers as your mate and bind your soul to him forever?" The high priest asked me.
Like every traditional wolf mating ceremony, we were at the altar, joined under moonlight.
Ryan was looking at me with a smile plastered on his face.
I looked back and saw my father, aunt, friends, and clan members all seated.
I turned back to the priest and my lips began to quiver.
Before I could respond the priest's eyes went red and then he looked at me.
He sniffed, I turned around confused and everyone else seemed confused.
He glared at me in shock.
"You… you've already been marked. You've already been claimed by another wolf."
