Ciara's voice cracked as she continued, "It's even worse than that, kids. Fidel didn't even remember sleeping with me. He was drunk, and he didn't even know what he was doing. But when he found out, he was disgusted. He couldn't stand the sight of me."
Ethan's face twisted in anger. "That's vile."
Ciara nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. "And then, when he found out I was pregnant, he was furious. He didn't want anything to do with me or the babies. He intended to kill me, to get rid of the problem."
Emery's eyes widened in horror. "But why? How could he be so heartless?"
Ciara's voice was barely above a whisper. "Because, to him, I was just a mistake. A reminder of his own weakness. He couldn't stand the thought of being tied to me."
Ethan's jaw clenched. "We won't let him get away with this, Mom. We'll make sure he pays for what he's done."
Sophia, Fidel's wife, tried to gain the trust of Ethan and Emery, but they saw right through her attempts. She brought them gifts, expensive and extravagant, but they rejected them outright.
"We don't want anything from you," Ethan said coldly, his eyes narrowing in suspicion.
Sophia's smile faltered, but she tried again. "But I just want to be friends, dear. I want to get to know you both better."
Emery crossed her arms, her expression unyielding. "We don't need friends like you. You're just trying to manipulate us."
Sophia's face fell, her eyes flashing with anger, but she quickly regained her composure. "I understand. You're still hurt from the past. But I assure you, my intentions are pure."
Ethan snorted. "Save it, Sophia. We're not buying it."
Sophia's eyes narrowed, her gaze lingering on the twins before she turned and left, her plans foiled once again. But she vowed to try again, to find a way to win them over and secure her place in Fidel's life.
Ciara arrived just in time to see Sophia's attempt to manipulate her children fall apart. She strode into the room, her eyes flashing with anger, and gathered Ethan and Emery into her arms.
"Let's get out of here," she whispered, leading them away from Sophia's toxic presence.
Sophia's face twisted in a snarl. "You can't protect them forever, Ciara," she spat. "Soon enough, those children will be mine and Fidel's. You'll see."
Ciara turned back to face Sophia, her eyes blazing. "Never," she vowed. "I'll never let that happen."
Sophia's laughter was cold and mirthless. "We'll see about that," she repeated, her eyes glinting with malice.
As Ciara led her children away, she knew that this was far from over. Sophia and Fidel would stop at nothing to claim Ethan and Emery, and she would have to be vigilant to protect them. But she was ready for the fight. She would do whatever it took to keep her children safe.
Lamar's plans were unfolding perfectly. He knew what he had to do to become the great Alpha. He was close to achieving his goal.
"I just need to wait for the right moment to strike," he thought. "Then I'll take my chance."
Lamar felt confident and excited. He knew he would soon be the leader of Fidel's pack.
Fidel's mind was racing with concern. He knew he had to win back his children's trust, but he didn't know where to start. Without an heir, his position as Alpha was precarious. He looked weak, and he knew that other Alphas would sense his vulnerability and try to take advantage of it.
"If I don't secure my position, I'll be challenged," Fidel thought, his anxiety growing. "I need to prove myself as a strong leader, but how can I do that when my own children don't trust me?"
Fidel paced back and forth, trying to think of a solution. He knew he had to act fast, before his enemies sensed his weakness and struck. But every option he considered seemed to end in failure.
"I need to think of something, and fast," Fidel muttered to himself. "My position, my power, everything is at stake."
Fidel sat behind his large, ornate desk in his study, his eyes fixed on the door as he waited for Ciara to arrive. He knew this was a crucial moment, one that could make or break his future as Alpha.
When Ciara entered, Fidel stood up, trying to appear confident and composed. "Ciara, thank you for coming," he said, his voice smooth as silk. "I know we haven't always seen eye to eye, but I want to make things right. For the sake of our children, and for the sake of the pack."
Ciara raised an eyebrow, her expression sceptical. "What exactly do you ask, Fidel?" she asked, her voice firm but wary.
Fidel took a deep breath, launching into his carefully rehearsed speech. "I want to be a part of our children's lives, Ciara. I want to be a good father to them, and a good partner to you. I know I haven't been the best in the past, but I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make it right."
Ciara's expression didn't change, but Fidel could sense a glimmer of curiosity behind her eyes. He pressed on, determined to win her over
Ciara's composure crumbled, and she burst into tears. "You don't understand, Fidel," she sobbed. "Lamar is using us, me and the children, to get to you. He's manipulating us, playing us like pawns in his game of power."
Fidel's eyes widened in shock as Ciara's words poured out in a torrent. "He was the one who cut the chandelier, Fidel. He meant to kill you, but Ethan got hurt instead. And now he's using that to turn the children against you, to make them hate you."
Ciara's body shook with sobs as she continued. "He wants your pack, Fidel. He wants to take it for himself. He's been secretly gathering support, whispering in the ears of your pack members, turning them against you."
Fidel's face darkened with anger and shock. He had suspected Lamar of treachery, but he had never imagined it went this far. "I had no idea," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "But I'll put a stop to it, Ciara. I promise you that.".
The attendant burst into the study, his face ashen and his eyes wide with panic. "Please, forgive me, sir...madam," he stammered, his voice trembling. "I have terrible news. The children...they're gone."
Ciara's head snapped up, her eyes locking onto the attendant's distraught face. "What do you mean?" she demanded; her voice sharp with alarm.
The attendant swallowed hard, his Adam's apple bobbing up and down. "We can't find them anywhere, sir. We've searched the entire estate, but...but they're nowhere to be found."
Fidel's expression darkened, his brow furrowing in concern. "What about their rooms?" he growled. "Were they taken from their beds?"
The attendant nodded, his eyes welling up with tears. "Y-yes, sir. It looks like they were taken from their rooms. We found signs of a struggle...and a piece of fabric caught in the window lock."
Ciara's face crumpled, her hands flying to her mouth as a strangled cry escaped her lips. Fidel's face turned white with rage, his eyes blazing with fury.
