Chapter 4 - Land, Ahoy!

After a day of sailing, the first breeze of natural wind finally caressed my face. Announcing that I was finally out of the calm belt and into the East Blue.

"Ah, finally now all I need to do is to head toward Loguetown." I muttered while stretching a little.

'If my memory served me right, it should be next to the reverse mountain. Since it is after all the last stop before sailers, mostly pirates left for the Grandline.' I thought.

So that should be to the north of my current location.

Since I knew where the general direction of the east is. It wasn't complicated to find where the North should be. And to not lose my way all I needed to do was sail at the border of the calm belt.

My small ship lacked any sails, so I continued my voyage as I did for the past day by using the wind emanating from my palms as some type of motor to propel the vehicle.

~~~
After a long days of sailing, and constantly stopping to empty the water from my small boat.
I started spotting dozens of ships in the distance all seemingly sailing toward the same direction.
Approaching what could only be called a fleet, I noticed that a vast majority of those ships belonged to the marines.
Something I found pretty normal as they were executing the most Wanted man of this time. And were probably afraid of some retaliation from either his pirate friends or his crew.
Knowing with certitude that these flock of ships were sailing towards Loguetown, I decided to lay back and leisurely follow them.
~~~

After a full night of following those marine ships, I could finally spot an island in the distance.

Polestar island, home to Loguetown the island were the Pirate king started and was about to end his journey.

The marine ships all started heading toward some sort of marines only dock. So I had to stop my constant pursuit, and head for the merchants and civilians dock.

My constantly sinking ship, was starting to ominously shake from time to time as the constant salt water entering has aggravated the gaps on its hull, they had now turned into visible holes.

Seeing as the ship wouldn't hold much longer. I simply threw the bucket away and concentrated on increasing the speed of the sinking vessel.

The small boat fought to the best of it's ability to stay afloat. As I slowly approached the docking port of Loguetown.

The last couple of meters I had to stand on the ships mast. As the lower half was completely submerged in water.

And just as the small vessel gave its last breath, I stepped onto the hardwood of the docking port. With my ship long gone, devoured by the ocean.

I received a couple of strange looks from the merchant and workers at the dock. Looks that I simply ignored as I walked into town with a megawatt smile plastered to my face.

Today, I will witness history.

Walking around Loguetown, I enjoyed how boisterous the city was. There was an unusual amount of tourist in the streets and the vendors were eager to sell their products.

"Come take a taste of this fried Fish! Best Fish in the east Blue!"

"Buy 1 pair of pants and get the second at a discount!"

"Sword! Spears! Guns and Shields! I guarantee we have what you seek!"

At every corner vendors tried to sell me their products. Even though I was dressed modestly all it took was a simple glance at my headscarf and the ornament attached to it, to think I was either some sort of noble or some wealthy merchant.

"Sorry, already have a weapon." I replied to the weapon seller as I swiftly walked passed him and his shop.

Finally spotting a store I was actually interested in, I walked inside the bar.

It had been years since I had last drunk anything other than fruit juice and water. And I was eager to get alcoholic beverage into my system.

"Hello, could I get some Sake please?" I asked the bartender.

"No can't do, you don't have a spec of beard young man." The gruff man replied as he continued to clean some drinking glasses.

"Come on, don't be like that. I'm old enough." I replied with a slight grin.

Taking a glance behind me, he sighed before replying "Sorry, but rules are rules."

Looking behind me I spotted a couple of marines drinking and realized why he was being so strict.

"Alright I understand." I replied before walking away from the counter.

Scanning the bar, I spotted a gorgeous red head drinking in her lonesome.

"Hi, is this seat taken?" I asked in my most charismatic tone.

"For you it is." She replied without looking.

Her brash way of talking immediately branding her as a sailor.

"A woman of the sea, I see!" I exclaimed as I took a seat at her table.

The woman finally dropped her newspaper and looked at me. "What do you want kid?"

Placing a hand on her arm, and giving her a look worthy of a lady killer such as Sinbad, or should I say myself.

"Why does everyone believe I have some ulterior motive? I'm simply here to enjoy myself and you looked like some great company to keep." I replied with a charming smile. The scenery around me seemed to change as it was replaced by warm pink and orange colours.

The woman seemed to be taken back by my charm as she took a little time to collect herself before responding with a visible blush.

"I suppose you can accompany me" She replied with a deep blush, while looking away from me.

"May I ask you a question, Miss?" I asked.

"Sarah Fortune, But everyone calls me Miss Fortune." She replied.

"Well Sarah, do you perhaps know when is the execution scheduled?" I asked.

She showed me the newspaper she was reading, and pointed at a certain spot.

"Today at noon." She replied.

"So we still have around 3 hours to ourselves?" I asked the busty redhead with my most charming smile.

"That we do." She replied just as eager.

The next 3 hours were spent drinking and partying at the bar. It didn't take much for me to turn the gloomy atmosphere around us into a joyous one. As even marines joined the small party.
