Temptation Chronicles

--AUTHOR'S NOTICE-- I regret to inform you, that as of Monday, 10.01.2022, I'm putting Temptation Chronicles on Pause. I came to the conclusion, that as of now, I'm unable to continue writing, due to several issues coming up as of late. These include, but aren't limited to: University Graduation work, Exams, as well as Monetary Issues. I'll try my best to get back onto writing as soon as possible, however this most likely won't happen at least until June 2022. Once I've graduated, I might continue writing this story, given that I'll have the time to do it in my free time. Another thing I've noticed, is that ever since I've started writing, my enthusiasm for this story has been on a steady decline. The issue isn't that I don't think highly of it, which I definitely do, it's a more personal reason. I don't think that it's up to par with what I envisioned for it, as well as having to write in a style I personally don't really like. I hope to see you once again, when I'm back writing, until then, please enjoy the story up to the current point. See you this summer (probably)! You know you want it. Come on, click on it. Give in to [Temptation]. Born into a family of heroes, Dan Atys, son of some of the top heroes of the world, was an absolute [Low Tier] loser. Getting bullied was his bread day in and out. What do you think happens to someone like that? I mean, he was raised by heroes, groomed to be one. You'd think he'd turn into one as well, right? Turns out, Dan thought not. The abuse has messed with his mind, and even his powers didn't seem to affect the people who blindly follow principles. His power, [Temptation] , is a superpower that affects the mind of the afflicted. The only condition that is needed to be fulfilled, is that Dan wills it so. Up to this point tho, he thought it's a charm effect, that has a positive effect on those surrounding him. This usually worked this way, but for some reason, ever since he enrolled into the prestigious School of Herocraft, Heracleon, named after the first superhero in history, his powers didn't seem to affect anyone. No one wanted to be friends with him, and all the affection he had from others, was through extreme abuse. They wouldn't just beat him up, they would torture him both physically, and mentally. So much for those "heroes." After realising his true potential, the ability to manipulate just about anyone in the world, he thought it would be natural for him, to "stray" from the path of "heroes."  ---DISCALIMER--- We've had a few people clicking on TC, because they were expecting some sexual/explicit [Temptation] content. There's nothing of that sort going on! Please, read the synopsis if you're interested in the story, and if it caught your eyes, please, do give the story a read. Thank you. --- WPC #194 Silver Prize Cover Design: @kincesco (Instagram)

Chapter 2 - Hell Awaits

The realization was slowly settling in. Kevin, the guy who attacked me with his third arm, has suddenly collapsed on me.

I dont know what exactly happened, but I had a feeling I did this somehow. It's sort of an inner realization. The sort of realization that goes through you, when you realize you had an effect on something.

I noticed something wrong here. For some reason, his third hand was gripping his throat, very tightly. Some blood was also coming out of his mouth, slowly dripping onto my jeans. How did this happen? Did he just commit suicide on top of me? Does that even happen?

If so, does that mean I somehow made him do it? I mean I told him to stop.

I also shouted some horrible things about dying at him. Did that...?

That can't be. Not a chance. No, no, no, no! I didn't just compel him to do it, right?

What should I do? Should I stay? Should I run? Can I even run? My leg's still burning from Claire's Poison, although it's less intense, for some reason? Is she losing her will...?

I looked over at them. Both of them are in severe shock. Claire just stopped with her screaming, and now was looking at me, with both disgust, and a slight amount of fear in her eyes. I assume that was the reason behind her powers weakening. I started pushing Kevin's corpse off of my legs, and in that process, I caught a glimpse of his eyes. For some reason, his usual brown eyes turned into a hazy purple color.

Did that happen because of me? Or do eyes change color after suffocating? Either way, it made me slightly disgusted. I was trying to move his body just a little more, so my legs come free, but at that moment Justin intervened.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?!" He came at me with full force, throwing me into the wall once again. This one almost made me faint, but I had to prevail. I had to run. I had no other choice.

"Murderer!" Claire shouted really loudly. I'm done for. They're gonna get me.

Well, that's my luck, I guess.

I got punched. Again, and again, and again. Justin didn't hold back, well, I guess it was well deserved. If I really killed his friend, he has every right to do this.

No, he doesn't - I heard a faint voice in my head. Right. He was trying to harm me. He deserved it.

But because of that, I'm a murderer.

Wait, how do I know I killed him?

Was that my power? But a regular [Charm] couldn't do that much damage. A singular [Low-Tier] wouldn't be able to kill anyone.

Is it really a [Charm]? Was the Inspector right? Did I really have a regular [Charm]?

I thought about these stuff, as I was knocked unconcious.

---

I found myself in a cave-like place. Very purple. The walls were covered in some sort of gemstones. Amethyst, perhaps? I started walking forward, towards a small crystal lake. I stopped at the edge of the water, and looked into the deep, and purple tinged mirror.

From the water, a young man stared back at me. He had a shoulder-length dark brown hair, and a sort of slim and wimpy, yet somewhat strong and proud face. His dark blue eyes constantly took on the color of the waves, reminding me of the guy I - Well, ended. The young man looked fairly tall, and quite frail. Barely any muscles on his body, and absolutely no signs of ever working out. That was just his natural body.

I knew it, since, well, you'd recognize yourself in a mirror, wouldn't you?

I walked around the lake, to a path I spotted on the other side. I didn't know where it would take me, but I was pretty sure I had to follow it, no matter what. Took me a good few minutes, but I finally arrived at something, that looked like a chair. I couldn't tell, it wasn't well formed, and my eyes were getting hazy, from the purple tinge, but I knew I had to sit on it. I wanted to. I needed to.

"Not yet." I heard a deep echoey voice.

---

Rumbling. The sound of an engine, and then the whistling sound of the car's brake.

We stopped. I don't know where I am, or why am I in a car. I faintly remember a place with a lots of purple, but I couldn't remember exactly where that was. I opened my eyes, and saw a man sitting right in front of me. He was wearing a blue overall, on top of which he had a ballistic-looking vest. On his side he had a gun, a baton, and in his hand a submachine gun. He also had a really weird hat. Of course, anyone would recognize a police officer, right? But why was one sitting in front of me?

"Woke up, murderer?" he asked calmly, with a slight tinge of disgust in his baritone voice. Murderer? Wha-- Oh, right. I almost forgot. "What, you can't speak?"

I tried to move my hands, but I suddenly felt a force pulling them back.

"Good luck with that. You can't break free, no matter what you do," he told me with a cold and jokey manner.

"Where are you taking me?" I finally asked.

"It's kinda obvious," he pointed outside of the car.

As we stopped, I looked around my back, and saw a huge building, probably four to five stories tall, sorrounded by an equally enormous wall, topped off with barbed wire.

"Prison, eh?" I asked back.

"Well done, Captain Obvious would be proud," he said, again in the same manner. He's quite the sarcasticc man, isn't he. I guess he gotta deal with stuff, too.

"Alright! Alright! You can get out now! Over." Shouted a voice through his radio.

"Roger. Vice-Warden Russel, and Inmate Number 999 getting out. Over." he replied. He got up, stepped to my side, and attached a long rod to my handcuffs, as he disconnected them from the vehicle.

"Alright, stand up." he said, so I did. What good would it do, to go against my captors?

"I already have a number? What about my trial?" I asked. It really puzzled me. I believe I could argue for my case, so I think I deserve at least that much.

"You won't have one," he said plainly.

"What the hell?! How can you prove I murdered the guy?" I asked, very much pissed.

"There were two witnesses. Neither took your side." Again, with the cold and simple reply.

"What about the fact that they both were bullying me?! I am a victim too, you know!" I almost shouted.

"Never heard anything 'bout that."

"You've got to be joking!" I said as I was almost frothing.

"You shouldn't have killed a kid. We could be joking then." He replied while pushing me towards the door on the car. I can't believe I'm being convicted without a proper trial! Those two bastards! When I get out of this place...!

We were nearing the first checkpoint. I needed to confirm their data on me.

Name: Daniel Atys

Gender: Male

Age: 18

Mother's name: N/A

Power: Charm

Felony: Murder

And so on.

I can't believe this one.

Did Mom disown me? Or did they not get the memo, of who my parents are?

That one aside, as it was kinda obvious that would happen, I don't think my power is actually Charm.

I'm so glad I can think even in situations like this. Let's leave it like this, so they think that that's all I can do.

"One more question," said the guard at the checkpoint, "regarding your power," that's it, I'm done, "are you sure, that it is indeed Charm? According to the victims, you somehow made him commit suicide. Is this true?"

"I won't say a thing without a law-" PUNCH! I recieved a hit into my stomech from the officer who took me here.

"You won't get one. Talk," he said in his usual cold manner.

"I.. don't know," I said, while having a hard time breathing, " I might have... influenced... him to do it," I said. I don't know if that's a lie, or true, but that's how I saw it.

"Well, [Charm] isn't known to be this strong, but we'll accept that explanation this time," the guard said, " You can go through now to the remaining checkpoints."

We went through several checkpoints after that, with the procedure being more or less the same. Well, bar the beating the shit out of me part. After all that hassle, I was just thrown into my cell, and was left alone. I didn't get any food, and I seemed to have no cellmates. Seems like I was going to be here for at least the next five years. During that time, things might change. And I'll do everything in my power, to get stronger.

At the end of the day, who cares about a murderer, but themselves?
