"Zz... Alpha Team in position!"
"Zz. Snipers ready!"
"Zz. Beta Team is preparing for intervention!"
Ethan, who was standing in the center of the tavern, stopped shooting. His eyes scanned the entire room, and he quickly noticed that the vampires had initially ceased their attack.
"Everyone who hasn't moved, walk behind me quickly," Liam shouted as he tossed several holy water bombs.
All the survivors, who were watching masked figures with swords decapitate the bodies on the floor, began to move toward Liam.
Ethan approached a door that connected to the basement. He sensed a powerful presence there, so he asked, "When was the last time you felt threatened?"
There was silence after Ethan's words, so he changed the question to, "How old are you?"
As soon as he asked this, the figure behind the door smiled faintly and replied, "Millennia, millennia of pure experience!"
"Have you always been so careless? You let yourself be discovered so easily, though with all those trucks left behind the bar, you didn't put much effort into hiding. But now that the hunters are here, aren't you afraid?" Ethan asked, trying to gauge the type of enemy he was about to face.
"Things happen for a reason. Your kind has been hunting all of my tribe, so it seems like the right time to collect some of that debt." The figure behind the door smiled slightly, though he felt threatened.
He knew about the Light Association, especially the hunters—that group of highly trained humans that allowed the Winchester family to rise as one of the most feared families in hunting supernatural beings.
The entire supernatural world living among humans feared the Light Association. Anyone who wanted to live without problems dreaded being found by exorcist priests or hunters.
"How about a one-on-one fight?" Ethan suddenly asked, wanting to rattle the vampire.
The figure smiled and shook his head. "It doesn't work that way. Do you think I can't feel all those hearts beating behind you like your nannies?"
"Will you tell me, man?" Ethan asked once more as he holstered his pistols.
"Many have called me Morbius, but there's no need to keep talking. I'll kill you in a few moments."
"Then I guess words will be unnecessary. Between humans and vampires, we always have to come out on top, but it's not a matter of hatred. This is survival, and my job is to eliminate you." Ethan slowly backed away from the door.
Boom!
At the same time, the bar's entrance exploded, and a squad of twenty soldiers behind Servando stepped forward to surround it and advance towards the hidden basement area.
The weapons being used were metal harpoons and nets. This modern net-launching weapon was used against supernatural beings that needed to be captured, kept alive, or simply suppressed.
The harpoons, on the other hand, were used to suppress the primary vampire and then kill him, while the soldiers wielding the net-launching weapon would handle keeping the transformed vampires at bay.
"Zz... Advancing to place bombs!"
A soldier slowly moved toward the door while the agents covered him. After placing a bomb on the door and, respectively, on the windows, he retreated to detonate them.
Taking a radio, Ethan surveyed the surroundings. After ensuring that nothing was out of the ordinary, he reported, "Zz... initiate the operation!"
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Three crisp explosions were heard, and after that, several soldiers threw silver grenades that exploded instantly, marking the beginning of the operation.
"Arghhhhh!"
Right in the room to the right of the entrance, there were two vampires—soldiers that Morbius had left to defend the entrance and buy time. But as soon as a soldier saw them, he stepped forward and pulled the trigger on the net gun.
Bang!
The vampire, who was screaming from the rain of silver, was immediately captured. His melting body was pinned to the wall, and no matter what he did, he couldn't break free.
"Zz... Entrance secured; clear the back area."
Ethan paused at the entrance, watching as the elite soldiers advanced through the doors, dragging the vampires out of the house by force.
"Don't let them bite you. They say the experience of being a vampire is utterly terrifying," murmured Ethan as he watched two soldiers get violently thrown down the stairs.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
But immediately, two other soldiers downstairs fired several harpoons, pinning two vampires to the wall. Without concern for whether they were wounded or not, another soldier quickly launched a net to subsequently suppress them.
The suits of these special Light Association soldiers were fully armored with no vulnerable points, practically turning them into war machines. True, they were slow due to the excessive weight of the armor on their bodies, but the survival rate of each soldier was incredibly high.
"Second floor secured!"
"Zz. Five more vampires neutralized."
Seth, who wanted to prevent those people from burning his brother's body, was stopped by Jacob, who said, "Don't do it. These people don't care about us; they're here for those monsters."
"How do you know?" Seth asked, grabbing Jacob by his cross.
Jacob frowned and murmured, "There are billions of humans in the world. Why would these people care if a few die as long as they win the battle?"
"Dad!"
"That's the truth. If we're a burden, they'll leave us behind," murmured Jacob, recalling some things from his life as a priest.
"Zz... Zone secured, initiating operation toward the basement."
"Then this time, I'll go first. Prepare a small team of five men just to make sure we don't fall into a trap," Ethan said as he looked at Bobby, who was standing on a table. "I'll be right back, friend."
"Take care of those horrible things."
"Initiating elimination operations."
"Understood, Regent!"
