"Fighting for the right side—how could we even know what that is?"
Ethan looked at Stiles more seriously than usual, so Stiles assumed he was protecting his friend from the idea that he might be the enemy. "All we know is that we eliminate them so those things don't kill humans."
"None of those who exterminate dark entities chose their path; we're not heroes, far from it. We just do what's right before our time runs out," Ethan said as he stood up and walked towards a board filled with photographs.
He knew that just being a teacher wasn't enough; he needed eyes and ears inside the school to keep his surroundings safe.
At this point, he planned for Stiles to be his eyes within the school, expecting to receive reports from him about any supernatural events or anything related.
"Many people like you think that some supernatural entities aren't entirely evil. A lot of people actually believe that. Now, I also want to believe it, so I need your help."
It was clear that Ethan's words marked a change in Stiles, who hadn't initially trusted his teacher but was now revealed to be an undercover hunter.
But now that Ethan was revealing some of the truth he knew, it showed he wasn't an enemy of the people but rather their protector.
"Normally, I should stop you right here and now, but I won't do that because of a somewhat crazy idea about some things I want to achieve in the future." Ethan wanted more tools, not more enemies.
"So, will we work together?" Stiles felt much more at ease, and a smile grew on his face.
Ethan nodded slightly and said, "I wouldn't exactly call it that, but we'll certainly be a bit closer."
He was here to rest, but also to gather strength. There was uncertainty about what would happen in the future, but knowing those doubts, a division would be created to make deeper use of the dark entities being recruited.
To avoid killing Scott and his friends, Ethan would use them as his new personal project.
This would drive the Argent family out of town, and he wouldn't mind using them for something else, so that's what he would do.
"Let's go have dinner; it's getting late." On the way, Ethan handed Stiles a silver rosary.
Stiles looked at it and asked, "Will this protect me from werewolves?"
"No, but it'll help you in a fight." JJ, who was coming out of the kitchen, was holding a large, steaming turkey that smelled delicious.
"Is that the gardener?"
"Yes, everyone here has many other jobs. They used to be hunters, but now that they're retired, we're here to enjoy nature," Ethan said as he sat down to eat.
He thought about the process needed to give this mansion a bit more nature, even if no one was truly normal after all.
Even Stiles had been on alert at first.
"So, the girl I found in the woods was killed by a werewolf that you guys are hunting?" Stiles asked as he ate like he never had before.
JJ, of course, felt proud of this and said, "Do you want another slice of ice cream cake?"
"Oh, absolutely."
Ethan, who was expressionless as he watched all his workers eating at the same table, said, "That's right, we solved the problem with the police, so I hope they won't be too eager to keep looking or blaming someone else."
"That's incredible; you're like detectives."
"Yeah, something like that..." That was the appealing part at first glance, but Ethan wouldn't wish the life of a hunter on anyone, as it wasn't a pleasant life.
"Since you're finished, I'll take you home."
