Chapter 113: Courting the Noonday

The team took the lounge reserved by the mayor on their way. Lehi did not left Nevi's side. She sat beside him during meal. Hexel and Ain remained silent watching them. Hexel can't help but asked.

"Are you two always this close?"

Nevi and Lehi exchange glances and Lehi decided to speak.

"We are childhood friends."

Hexel made a face that they need to explain more or else they might think the improper. Nevi swallowed the peice of meat he's been chewing and spoke.

"Since I started training under Novena, We haven't met each other."

Ain looked at them as he kept stuffing his mouth with the meat.

"Does Ophir know? I mean your actions were too close that others might mistake you as a couple?" He frankly stated and glanced at the neighboring table who are watching them.

Lehi was taken aback, their old habbits were resurfacing and she is now a married woman. It might have been nothing special for the both of them but for other people it's understandable. Lehi had her thoughts drift and imagine how would Ophir react that it took her a minute to answer. Hexel broke the ice and waved his hand in a friendly manner.

"Hey, don't suddenly get awkward. It's not like you guys."

Lehi blinked and replied as she pouted.

"Yeah he does, I should be the one who is getting jealous. They get along too well without me."

Ain and Hexel started to grill Nevi.

Nevi walked Lehi to her room.

"Don't mind them, Ophir won't get angry."

Lehi nod her head and enter her room. Ain's comment kept replaying to her mind that she can't even sleep. She stood up to visit the pantry for a midnight snack. The lounge looked grand that is made of lebanon and cedar. The lounge was known to be the restaurant of the travellers because of it's 24 hours service. Lehi's white pajama contradict the ambiance with the spectrum of green and oranges that resembles a unripe lemon.

Lehi sat on the counter with the chef. She ordered a meat soup made of liver and intestines. She asked for a vegetable that is spicy as side dish, a plate of caramel cake and cup of coffee for digestion. The chef laughed and made a comment that it's too much for a midnight snack. The chef had a golden eyes and lashes. His chubby and cute dimples made the customers delighted not just with his sunflower grin but because his food is delicious. The wooden door suddenly made a creaking sound as it opened.

The customer is wearing a lace of veil. The individual's frame looked suspicious. It sat beside Lehi. When the chef smiled at the veiled person. The veiled person emitted a hellacious aura. The people inside the restaurant instantly panicked.

Lehi crammed all her order and looked at the veiled person at her side. The veiled person hissed at the chef who smiled sweetly. The veiled person suddenly stood on the counter and was about to stab the chef but Lehi halted her with her comb. Thankfully she put on her coal shoes before leaving her room. The veiled person growled like a bear ready to gormandize Lehi's being.

Lehi pushed her back with her force but the veiled person was fortified. She kicked Lehi on the waist and Lehi ended up being thrown inside the counter, gladly the people already evacuated. The veiled person got on top of Lehi and used her elbow to weakened Lehi's wrist and shoulder. She grabbed the pan on the counter and hit Lehi's facade.

Lehi felt like her ears heared an endless ringing from the impact. Lehi rooted her right leg to steady her posture and she raised her left knee to hit the veiled person's back. The enemy got pushed forward near Lehi's face since it straddled her as soon as she got knocked by the foe from the counter. Lehi raised her elbow to hit the enemy's chest.

The veiled person howled from the physical pain it recieved. Lehi pushed her away from herself and was about to climb up from the counter but the enemy yanked her hair to the point that Lehi whimpered. She felt like her scalp will be uprooted at how the enemy severely pulled it.

The enemy vividly laughed at Lehi's scream. Lehi's opponent forcefully pressed her at the counter table that Lehi felt her side waist would get swollen sooner. The utensils got broken and thrown at the impact. The foe yearn for more of her scream and lifted her whole body and threw her to the tables.

Lehi got her eyes blurry from the bleeding gliding from her right eyebrow. Lehi shut her eyes from the impact but a pair of arms caught her.

She looked up to see Nevi. He gritted his teeth from the Lehi's present form. Hexel unsheathed his sword and speedily attacked the veiled foe. The opponent countered Hexel's offence. Despite the huge size different of their weapon. Hexel got overpowered by the foe with it's skillful swinging. Ain aided Nevi who sat Lehi on a chair.

"Guard her Ain as she heal herself." Ain immediately made the tables bigger in size enough to build a wall with monitoring window.

Nevi calmed himself as he glanced at Lehi who is applying her oil to her wounds. Nevi raised his fist to pray.

"Our Greatest Strength and Rock. Thank you for revealing to us the solution toward a generational crime. We humbly asked of Your fire and depth to fight back against our foe. Our arena is Your arena.Amen."

Nevi got clothed with spiky oak and laurel of spoon and fork ornament. Nevi supported Hexel who almost got pushed on the wall with the enemy ripping his robe. Nevi grabbed the enemy's veil but the enemy instantly avoided his fist. The foe attempted to kick Nevi but Nevi punch the sole of it's feet. The enemy got thrown at the cieling. Nevi followed through and used his palm to grab the enemy's veil. The enemy break off through the cieling and escaped from them.
