Chapter 5

"snow, snow" She heard his voice but it sounds like it was from a distance

Quick flashes of memories, of someone waking her. But there was difference in the voice, name and face. Though the flash was inaudible, her guts tells her that's a different name.

[gasp... sigh...] She blinked her eyes open

"Good morning" she said and rolled out of bed, brushing it to the back of her mind

"No, it's noon" "were you planning on sleeping through out the entire day"

"I'm sorry" she looked deserted

"Oh it's nothing, clean up we are going to get you new clothes" he rubbed her head before going out. Her cheeks flushed as she watched his back

It's not that she doesn't have something to wear but all she has been wearing for the past few days was his clothes and for the legs, she only had one set of flip flop not so good for life in this type of environment

Infact the day he found her, she did not have any footwear on until two days ago after the wolves found the set of footwear and brought it. Collins had said they were hers because it had her scent and that's why the wolves brought it for her

The wolves has always been good to Collins given that they knew each other since God knows when but they always growl at her. She's just grateful they never attacked her

She stared at the mirror all done, wearing one of his Tees and short together with the flip flop - none of his footwear sized her -; her hair bound in low messy pony before stepping out and went to the kitchen first

The tea was warm so she drank it but she packed the sandwich to go and grabbed the backpack on the way out

The trip out was nerve-wracking. The silence was deafening; not complete silence though. Even if there was no much breeze passing through the high top tree to make them rustle, you can hear the birds or whatever animal passing through it; it was like they are being stalked

And below, the wolves are creeping behind them slowly, their step snapping twigs beneath them once in a while. Scout was watching her closely, it was obvious with the way he was sticking close to her.

He had said there was still a large number of the wolves living deep in the wood even when they're just three around. Scout, Maya and small grey, he also mentioned Big grey though she have never met him before and Big grey was the alpha

These ones are always out to hunt, or rather get food; Collins feeds them sometimes. And most importantly, keep watch for outsiders not to get into their territory

She glanced around. This scene was familiar in her head but there was more people and less wolves in her memory

She felt a little migraine that made her stop her track. Collins stopped and for a moment, instead of him someone stretch out their hand with a smile "watch your steps, Elena". She stare at the hand and back up, it was back to Collins

"Are you okay" she took the hand and steadied herself "yes thank you"

When they get to the markings which were warning for humans to beware of the wild. The markings stretch out a long way but the ones deep into the woods are places with high chance of running into a wolf or something

The wolves stopped upon getting to the outer markings and watched from a distance as the two go further only retreating after they were out of sight

Snow took a deep breath after they were got out of their sight which made Collins flash an apologetic smile at her. He understand her plight and he knows Scout does too.

Despite Scout choose to stick to her since the first day they met and there's no stopping him. To be honest, he is grateful scout understand staying out of the house, if not, so many things could have gone wrong
