Surviving the Apocalypse in the Multiverse

All of it started on the Earth. The most Isolated planet in the entire Multiverse. Saying it was tragic would be a big understatement for the beings, named humans, on this planet. Well, maybe it was except for one, who only cared for himself and the closest beings to him... We don't know how, or why, he became like he did, and accomplished what he did. All we know, all the Multiverse knows, is that he didn't care for anything and wouldn't help anyone unless there was something in it for him. That is unless he felt like helping you or caring about something... but that came at a cost. Some say that you had to sell your soul to him, others say you became his loyal servant through black magic. What is fact and what is fiction, many don't know... about him who goes by the name of Dark King by some and Ruthless Adventurer by others. That is unless you are me, who sees him as someone else and by another name... And that is... I see him as a kind person to those he takes in as friends and a ruthless monster to his enemies. He is known to me by the name his parents gave him... the name Abel. --------------------------------------------------- This is my first novel, so pleeeease take it easy on me. I hope that you can give me positive feedback, like telling me what you would like to see more of in the novel and what you think I can change. Other than that, I hope you enjoy the book, and anything you gift me so that I can do this full-time would make me appreciate you a lot.

Little Girl and Status?!

[Day 2]

All encompassing, never ending, dark and fucking freaky, that's the first thing that Abel thought about his surroundings, there was just endless abyssal darkness.

Something tangible was there; he could somehow feel it, not physically but spiritually?

Yet it wasn't a suffocating darkness, nor was it an uncomfortable feeling; it was actually very comfortable for Abel; he even started to wonder, 'Is this what a mother's embrace feels like?'

Yet he had nothing to compare it to, he thought with a gnawing void within his heart.

Having been an orphan in his past life, never having been adopted, and never having a family to call his own.

'Huh?' Looking around, turning his non-corporeal head from left to right, he suddenly felt as if he were sinking into a body of thick, viscous liquid.

He didn't feel like he was drowning, though; it felt as if he had found a part of his body, or soul, that had been missing for his entire life.

He started to feel complete within the liquid that was slowly starting to cover his entire being.

As the liquid was flowing into him, filling the gaps that he had never noticed were there, he realized that his actual body was not in this place, yet he was still feeling everything that was happening to himself as if his body were there.

Although he felt that the process was longer than it actually was, in reality the liquid was done seeping into him in less than 30 seconds, after which he felt himself getting tugged out of the darkness so utterly rudely that he snapped his eyes open out of shock.

His eyes were busy adjusting to the sudden brightness, making Abel squint.

Feeling the ice-cold ground underneath made him notice that he was on his back, which explained why he was looking at a stone arched ceiling.

Suddenly, remembering the events before going to that dark place, he tried to turn his neck quickly, meeting resistance because it was so stiff and causing it to release a popping sound, making him freeze in fear, fearing that the zombies had heard it.

Abel strained his ears to hear what was going on in the surroundings, to see if the popping sound had drawn the zombies to him like a child to candy, not hearing anything for the moment.

He turned his head from side to side, looking around for the zombies, when he noticed that it was dark outside, yet his eyesight wasn't being hindered by it in the slightest way.

While looking out the window, a grunting and groaning sound was heard by Abel, along with slow shuffling steps that happened at random staggered intervals, sounding like a drunk was stumbling around looking for his next drink.

Abel tensed at the sound of this, but what puzzled him was that the sound of the zombie wasn't coming towards him, as if he didn't even exist.

That's when he noticed that instead of feeling his heart pounding within his chest, he couldn't feel anything, scaring him shitless!

'What the hell is happening? Why can't I feel my heartbeat? And why the hell do I feel annoyed with the fact that a zombie is not finding me attractive like a piece of A-Grade steak?!'

Abel even tried yelling at the zombie to ask if he wasn't tasty enough for it, only having stale air and dust come out as a response!

Seeing this incredulous scene, Abel could swear he would have black lines covering his face if this were to be a Manhwa or Anime.

He then tried to move his hands, legs, arms—anything that would move, he tried—yet they were all stiff other than his little brother. (A/N: Such a childish joke... but I had to.)

He was trying to sit up, which was accompanied by popping sounds coming from every known joint in the human body, when a familiar little girl's voice scared the ever-loving crap out of him.

Making him sure that if he could move like a normal human being, he would have jumped at least 2 meters into the air, and that the previous System message that he heard when he went to the dark place wasn't just his weird imagination.

[Hello, dear host, and welcome to the @?#$%!& $%@# System!]

This time the voice was accompanied by a black box with green words appearing in front of Abel's face, which caused him to react by having his right arm slip from underneath him while sitting on the floor, causing him to hit his head against the tiled floors.

However, the pain that should be associated with a human bashing their skull against the floor like a man trying to smash a watermelon open with brute strength never came.

Sure, there was the dizziness that you'd expect, but pain? Nope, not even a single drop of that stuff.

Abel rubbed the back of his head, fearing the blood that would be on his hand, but again there was nothing—no swelling, no bump, nothing—although he did feel that there was a small gash on the spot, but no blood was there.

As he was just about to freak out, the little girl's voice brought him back to reality.

[If the host wants to check his information and the perks of the @%&#?$! %$@& System, all he has to do is think of the word status, and you will see a screen appear with these details.]

Abel just lay on the ground with his arms spread wide and his mouth agape at the utter incredulity of this situation.

Was this a game? Is that why his head didn't hurt and there wasn't any blood? What the hell!

After calming his non-racing heart down, he thought 'Status' and like the little girl said, a black, see-through screen with green writing on it appeared, right there, before his eyes.
