The mall

Jadon opened the door to the car for Eisha and Aldrin. He stood aside and watched Aldrin offer his hand to Eisha.

His boss's behavior was shocking to him. The things that he had seen the man do since the day began were stunning him.

"Welcome to the mall," Aldrin ushered her.

Eisha gazed at the big building before her in awe. The Christmas decorations on the door were blinding her. It forced her smile to drop. She always hated how humans hated Christmas.

Aldrin led her inside the big building, holding her hand all through the way. He had his eyes on her hoping to see her take in everything with happiness but to his surprise, Eisha wasn't impressed.

"Don't you like it?" He raised the question.

Eisha locked eyes with him, she gave him a weak smile. All the happiness around was drowning her energy, the only aura she found she could stand was his.

"The Christmas energy is drowning," she told him being honest. Aldrin could understand what she meant. It was Christmas time and there he was away from his family.

Had it not been for her, he wouldn't have even dared to leave the house.

"We can leave if it makes you uncomfortable," he suggested with a kind smile.

Eisha shook her head, she was a vampire, one of the best if she were to say so herself. She didn't scare easily and shopping was a chance to understand a bit of Aldrin's world. It was hard to turn that down when he had offered so kindly.

"Let's do it."

Jadon led the way, avoiding crowded areas and women. He found them a private room to sit in. He went away to talk to the manager and organize for clothes, bags, shoes, and jewelry of the latest design to be sent to their room.

Eisha and Aldrin remained alone in the room. She let go of Aldrin's hand feeling a little woozy. Taking a seat from the male. She closed her eyes.

Her ears were picking up all the noises in the mall causing her head to hurt. The pain forced her to clutch her head. Images were forming in her mind, a woman, elegantly dressed.

She had never seen that woman before or the girls behind her. But they were forcing her abilities to go out of control.

Her eyes darkened, the pain was growing too much. The noises were blocking out her thoughts, the images flooded her eyes and her nose was filled with one scent and it wasn't Aldrin's.

Eisha could hardly make out anything that was happening right before her. She felt a hand on her shoulder, it was distant.

She opened her eyes, her eyes were bloody red, and the veins under her eyes had darkened. It blinded her, she looked ahead but couldn't see the may right in front of her.

"Arghh," Eisha screamed out in pain. Her body was changing in ways that she herself didn't understand. It wasn't sorcery, she could feel any spell at play around her.

With every fiber of her being, she held on to the seat, digging her claws into the chair.

Aldrin watched her struggle with worry. It was his first time dealing with a vampire, she didn't come with a manual on what he was supposed to do.

Hearing her scream tore at his heartbreaking it into pieces. It scared him to see her suffer without knowing how to ease her pain.

Aldrin strolled to the door and locked it, drawing down all the curtains in the room to avoid people seeing Eisha in that state. He reached for his phone and hacked into the security system of the mall, turning off the camera in the room, not taking any chances.

The book says that vampires can't be captured with a camera but it also says they don't have a reflection which Eisha does. So he wasn't sure if he should trust the book he read or not.

Eisha continued to battle with her situation. Knock! Knock!

Aldrin turned to the door hearing the loud knock. His breath hitched, he couldn't risk people seeing Eisha in that condition. They would ask questions, to which he didn't have answers.

He crossed his fingers, hoping that Jadon would return and send the people away. Other than Eisha, he didn't want anyone to see him. As an ex-actor, he had a lot of fans around the country that were obsessed with him.

The females were the worst, trying to earn favor with him and to get into his bed. Anything just to tie him down.

He wasn't in the mood to have to shoo off anyone. Not with Eisha in pain and Jadon went.

The loud knocking kept getting louder and panicked. Eisha's screams died down with the loud noise outside the room.

Aldrin opened the door, putting on his emotionless face. Ready to reprimand the person on the other side of the door.

On swinging the door halfway open, his body tensed and froze. Right in front of him was a woman that he didn't expect to see. Someone he worked hard to avoid at all cost.

Aldrin's hand on the door trembled slightly. The day couldn't get any worse than that. And the woman couldn't come at a worse time to meet him.

"Mother," he uttered still stunned by the fact that she was there.

"Will you keep staring at me or let me in?" The woman asked displeased by his reaction to seeing her.

The woman wasn't alone, there were two girls behind her. One who Aldrin recognized as her assistant while the other one was a stranger to him.

She was well dressed in designer clothes, giving off the sense that she was from a rich background. Aldrin frowned, he might not know her but he could have some ideas as to why his mother brought her along to meet him.

"Why are you here?" He asked coldly.

"Let me through," his mother spoke out pushing the door fully opened and marching in uninvited.

Aldrin panicked being caught off-guard by her move. He raced forward to block her vision of Eisha.
