Chapter 158

A few minutes later, after entering the Hyperspace gate, Alexander's fleet had arrived within the Utapau system where a battle was already raging with the New Republic and Padme was on one side and the Yuuzhan Vong was on the other side.

On the Yuuzhan Vong they outnumbered the combined New Republic and Padme fleet by a few hundred ships. The Terran ships made up for it in terms of firepower, but the Yuuzhan Vong just had too many ships. However, now Alexander was here, and he would turn the tide of the battle.

"Launch all Fighters and engage the enemy" Ordered Alexander. Almost Instantly, from every ship in the fleet, swarms of Terran fighters left the Hangers of their ships into the void of space.

On the bridge of his command ship, Alexander watched the holo-screen as multiple dots move about on it representing the different sides. Blue represented Terran ships, Green represented the New Republic ships, and Red represented the Yuuzhan Vong ships.

Outside of the window which had a clear view of the battle, colorful blasts and devastating explosions painted the space in front of him as the Terran ships opened fire on the Yuuzhan Vong fleet.

He turned to the Admiral, the second in command of the fleet "Have our capital ships hang back and provide artillery support. Let's punch a hole in their lines for our fighters"." Ordered Alexander.

The Admiral saluted before turning around to carry out his orders. Moments later the massive Kinetic batteries on the Terran capital ships targeted the Yuuzhan Vong fleet.

Meanwhile, on Empress Amidala's flagship, Padme watched as Alexander's fleet joined them in the battle. She felt a surge of hope the moment she saw the fleet jump out of hyper space. With his fleet they had begun to even the odds with the Yuuzhan Vong fleet.

Even with the Yuuzhan Vong's larger numbers, they were starting to struggle under the constant bombardment from the combined forces of the Terrans and New Republic.

Seeing this Alexander deployed two Spartan Teams to board the enemies Capital ship and kill the leader of the fleet. Lt. Daniels of Gold squad and Lt. Williams of Black Squad were the two spartan squads sent to board the enemy ship.

From the side of Alexander's capital ship drop pods were launched from the side of the ships towards the enemy Capital ship. It took them a few seconds flying through space before they impacted their intended target.

Within the halls of the Yuuzhan Vong capital ship the Spartans exited their pods and entered the ship.

Within hostile corridors of the Yuuzhan Vong ship, Spartans emerged from their pods into chaos. "Sir, here's your weapon," a Spartan from Black Squad handed Lt. Williams his rifle.

Accepting it with a nod, Lt. Williams signaled his team forward. HUD indicators illuminated paths towards the enemy bridge; Black Squad swiftly navigated grimy passageways while subduing any resistance encountered.

Yuuzhan Vong warriors proved resilient against Spartan onslaughts but lacked armor or strength to match them.

Simultaneously, Lt. Daniels and Gold Squad faced heavy opposition as they cleared their path towards the bridge to join up with Lt. Williams and Black Squad.

As Lt. Williams and his squad pushed further into the labyrinthine ship, they could hear the alien cries and hisses of the Yuuzhan Vong echoing through the corridors of the ship.

Some of their warriors would leap from the shadows, scarred faces twisting in rage as they hurled themselves against the Spartans. However, their weapons couldn't penetrate the shields of the Spartans nor contend with their weapons.

Back on the bridge, Alexander watched as two small green dots, representing Black Squad and Gold Squad, made progress across the Yuuzhan Vong flagship.

"Communications, patch me through to our boarding parties," he ordered crisply. Moments later, he could hear the calm yet strained voices of Lt. Daniels and Lt. Williams responding amidst a backdrop of sporadic gunfire and wild alien shouts.

Meanwhile on Gold Squad's end, Lt. Daniels' men had drawn a significant portion of the enemy's attention.

"Keep them busy, gentlemen. We can't let them close off the route to the bridge," Lt. Daniels commanded his team, blasting away a Yuuzhan Vong soldier who had tried to leap on him.

Despite the chaos, the Spartans maintained their discipline and slowly began to push back against the tide of alien warriors, leaving a trail of dead bodies in their wake.

Black Squad had swiftly advanced through the enemy ship, relying on their superior training and technology to outmaneuver their opponents. With every cleared corridor and secured room, they were one step closer to their objective.

The Spartan teams finally reached the Yuuzhan Vong command center after a grueling firefight through countless corridors and vast halls filled with hundreds of enemy soldiers.

"We're at the bridge," Lt. Williams announced into his comms unit as he and his squad prepared to breach the door.

"It's about time you showed up," Lt. Daniels responded dryly over comms as Gold Squad joined them.

A combined force of Spartans from both squads swiftly breached the bridge. Inside, the Yuuzhan Vong crew were attempting to activate defenses while a towering Yuuzhan Vong commander roared orders from the center.

The Spartans advanced into the room and started shooting everyone in sight. The room was soon filled with the heavy stench of burning alien flesh and the sound of their wails.

Lt. Williams and his men stormed the control console, taking down the guards swiftly. The towering commander roared in fury and charged at them, a deadly whip-like weapon lashing out in his fury. But Lt. Williams was ready for him.

With expert precision, he dodged the attack and fired off a burst from his rifle into the commander's chest. The commander staggered back and landed against a console. The burst from the rifle didn't kill him instead it made him laugh as he started to charge back towards Lt. Williams.

Seeing the commander rushing towards him, Lt. Williams braced himself, dropping his rifle and pulling out his combat knife. Meanwhile, the other Spartans had managed to secure the rest of the bridge. Some were manning the controls while others were guarding all entrances to ensure no Yuuzhan Vong reinforcements could breach.

The commander swung his whip-like weapon at Lt. Williams, but he dodged it with a swift roll to the side before lunging forward, slashing towards the Yuuzhan Vong's right leg. The commander howled in pain but retaliated with an impressive countermove, his whip crackling menacingly as it slashed through the air.

Lt. Williams timed his next move perfectly - waiting for the enemy commander to attack before ducking and using his own momentum against him. With a swift movement of his arm, he plunged his combat knife into the commander's chest. The alien howled, collapsing on the floor.

"Commander down," Lt. Williams announced, his voice cold and emotionless. He looked around at his men, most of them nodding in response.

With their mission accomplished the Spartans headed for their evac located at a breach in the ship's hull. With the commander dead, the Yuuzhan Vong fleet had started to collapse and lose their coordination.

Alexander took advantage of this situation and pushed forward towards the enemy fleet. It didn't take long before the Yuuzhan Vong fleet was destroyed. Meanwhile on the surface a battle rages on between Yuuzhan Vong ground forces and New Republic forces combined with Jedi.
