Chapter 16: Dressing Room Nightmare

“Oh, here’s my grandma now,” Marielle declared. “I will talk to you tomorrow,” she continued and ended the call without listening to Kiara any further.

“Is that Kiara on the phone again?” Ethel asked.

“Yes, she wanted to share some dance news,” Marielle responded.

“For such a long time and at this time of the night?” Ethel asked, looking shocked.

“Yes, apparently we are going to have more than one show for the end of the year,” Marielle responded.

“I had to come and rescue you,” Ethel explained as she observed Marielle in concern. “So, what’s so important about this dance show that it can’t wait until tomorrow?” she asked.

“It’s supposed to be very special and top secret at the moment,” Marielle answered. She wondered whether her grandmother was leading up to questioning her about Clifford’s father. It would not at all be good for her grandmother to know such terrible gossip about him. It would make Clifford look bad.
