X-Force #6

Opening scene Spider-Man is on a mission with X-Force trying to destroy a Weapon-X base in Canada. X-Force successfully infiltrated the Weapon-X base, but all three were separated on their mission. Spider-man is trying to destroy all research and data collected from their experimentation on mutants. While searching Spider-Man met X-23 a clone experiment of his teammate Logan.

"Wait I don't want to fight you," I said in a panic trying to avoid X-23 slashes. She just growled and continued to swing at me. I flip over her and web tase her in the back hoping that will stop her. "Sorry I had to do that," I say apologetically. X-23 screams for a moment before turning around and cutting the web-line. She runs at me brandishing her claws and my spider-sense activates. I try to block her claws as I did before, but it seems she figured out my trick and she manages to cut my forearm. That's when I stop holding back and manage to get the upper hand on her grabbing her arm she just cut me with and flipping her to the ground I hold her hands in place so her claws can't cut me.

"Listen I'm trying to help you; you don't have to be a weapon used by these people I can help get you a life I can help you meet your father," I say using all my strength to hold her. It seems I'm getting through to her when I feel a sharp pain in my leg and I see she has claws in her feet as well and she stabbed me through her boot. Distracted by the pain she manages to get out of my hold and charge at me. I point blank Vibro blast her into a wall normally I wouldn't do this because of the damage these things can do to the human body but she has a healing factor so she'll be fine. Right as she hits the wall I web up her forearms and knees to the wall so she can't pop her claws and escape.

"Ok, now that that's over I'm going to show you what this place is," I say as I go to the Weapon-X computer and show her the files on her and how she was cloned from Logan and made as the 23rd in a line of experiments. This captures her attention and she stops struggling on my webs and starts to pay attention. I go deeper into her file and see she was artificially inseminated into one of the doctors working on the Weapon-X program. The doctor's name was Sarah Kinney she quickly fled the program after 3 months of being pregnant and tried to raise her daughter on her own it worked for 4 years she raised her daughter away from the program and named her Laura, but Weapon-X managed to track her down kill her mom and made Laura into X-23. Laura cried when she heard that the memories might be repressed but the feelings are there.

"I want to help you, Laura, we can leave this place you don't have to be a weapon anymore," I say getting closer to her.

"Laura is that my name," she says in a soft voice.

"It's the name your mother gave you" I respond showing her the computer screen with her file on it. I rip off the webbing and she rushes to the screen and reads everything I just said to her.

"Why do you want to help me," she asks.

"Because I make it my life's goal to help people if everyone took a moment to care about a stranger the world would be a better place," I say extending my hand to her and pulling up my mask with the other. "My names Peter nice to meet you, Laura," I say as we shake hands. Just then the whole lab flashes red and a voice over the PA says "Self-destruct protocol activated, the lab will explode in 10 minutes". "We gotta get out of here" I say leading Laura to the door she quickly passes me and says "This way" I follow and try to get into contact with Logan and Jean (Guy's I don't know if you heard but the lab gonna explode we need to leave now) I say through my psychic link. (I'm already outside with the mutants held captive) Jean said. (I might need a sec to get Sabretooth off me) Logan responded. (Shit can you use the mental link to show us where you are and I can help) I ask and then my mind is flooded with images of the fight Logan has been in all this time and where he is currently. "Hey, Laura I need to help Logan go on ahead without me," I say and before she can respond I rush off to Logan. It takes me a few minutes before I see Logan snarling at Sabretooth both cutting the other on before they notice me I line up my Vibro blast and shoot Sabretooth away from Logan and let him know I'm here. As Logan and I turn the corner to get out of there I see Laura she must have followed me. "Why didn't you leave," I say. She looks past me and stares at Logan.

"Kid we don't have time grab the girl we need to go," Logan says rushing in front of us. Laura and I are not far behind when we hear the bombs start to go off in the place. We just barely get outside from the hatch we came in from before the whole place is engulfed in flames. The ground of the forest is destroyed and only a crater is left of where the base once was.

"That Sabretooth guy has a healing factor right," I say hoping by some miracle that he survived that explosion.

"Don't worry about that bastard I've seen him survive way worse he'll probably show up randomly one day and try to kill us all for revenge or some crap?" Logan says like he is almost bored of seeing giant explosions almost kill his lifelong enemies.

"Are you two ok" Jean walks over and asks. I look in her direction and see a bunch of scared and traumatized mutants behind her.

"Yeah we're fine," I say getting off the ground.

"You're bleeding," Jean says.

"Oh well, that's a long dramatic story," I say looking at Laura. I tell the whole story of who Laura is though she never says anything. She only pops her claws to prove my story true when I'm finished explaining everything.

"Well, now that the awkwardness of that is over you can come and stay with us at the X-Mansion if you want," I say trying to break the staring match between Logan and Laura.

"I'm not going with you" Laura finally says something.

"Why we can help you, show you how to make friends lord knows Logan never learned," I say walking closer to Laura.

"I need time away from all this," she says and starts to walk away from us.

"Wait" I yell as I follow her. I open up one of my spider-bots and pull out a button with some exposed wires. "This is an emergency beacon if you push the button it will let me know your location and I'll be there to help," I say handing her the device. She looks back at Logan then to me and takes the device from my hands then leans in close to me and starts to smell me.

"What are you doing," I ask confused.

"I now know your scent so I can find you if need be," She says and walks away.

"Strange girl but given the fact that she's related to Logan, she seems nice" Jean walks up to me and says. After that, we all pile into the Blackbird with the Weapon-X mutants and fly home.
